Out of Here

Crynn POV

"Wait! Wait! Wait! How exactly can you even know if the data is already collected?! The monitor f*cking exploded," because obviously to us and not to you, the God's above had already say so. "Oh we know. An indication is given to us, you just can't see it," Jill pretty much explained it in its most raw form.

"At least, we can insert the drive into one of the employee computers to really see if the data is there," right, I suppose that's fine to do. "Is it just me or does this office have a flaw in construction, there is no emergency water sprinklers," huh, I looked up and hmm... it's true. I didn't even realize myself but another thing I just realized is that the smoke from the frying of the computer is sucked out of a very tiny hole on the ceiling.

"Fire sprinklers became obsolete decades ago, the world now uses a smoke and fire isolation system that would immediately come active once it detects smoke or high temperatures. The smoke and fire will be sucked by a strong vacuum where it will be extinguished in an instant," fascinating, I'm guessing it depends on the level of fire it detects because that hole isn't a strong vacuum.

"Looks like my organization is seriously behind the times," Calian lied with a straight face. "Let's check the drive quickly, wouldn't want to waste any time. Someone might find out what happened here," Aria urged everyone as we exited the office 'innocently' and moved to one of the office cubicles.

"Let's see," Jill inserted the scanner and turned the monitor on and opened the data. It's a bunch of files and folders, she double clicked one of them and it seems to work, it's an image of a submarine, now I'm extremely curious on how all this data is going to help us on the next mission. "Okay look, the data is there, now we can leave for an extended amount of time," Jill ejected the drive and it was transported into the confines of her inventory, our joint team inventory.

"Let's go," Jill spoke as she got off the chair, time to really walk out of this place like we own the place which means, through the front door. "Before that, Perhaps anyone would like to throw their weapons at me because we're going through a scan check and I'm not sure if you'll want those sabers out in the open," Jill pointed out fiercely and so I gave her my gun.

"I have a pistol here," V pulled out a slick and silver gun that looked so good, like something that came out of a fusion between interstellar-like as well as steampunk. The pistol immediately disappeared upon Jill's touch as she looked at us. "I have nothing," Aria raised her hands up as Jill's eyes moved towards to Calian, specifically, his pouch bag.

"This is scan proof, no scanner in the whole world can detect what's inside," I guess we'll just have to trust him on that, eh? "Very skeptical but the worse case scenario will only be a gunfight out of the building so everything is okay," that's heavy sarcasm coming from V, it hurts really. "All right come on," Calian shrugged and strolled out like nothing just transpired over here.

"Take the elevator to the first sublevel, from there, just go straight ahead, we should find the receptionist and exit," Jill has definitely memorized the map. "So how are you feeling in your grand accomplishment of going inside the headquarters of two different very powerful corporations," Aria asked a curious question.

"There is a big sense of achievement, I don't know if anyone else have done the same but I'll have to say, for being the NUSA's entire nervous system, Militech should really keep their guards up. The construction of the subway is one flaw that needs to be looked at and secondly, they need to check whether their package is actually their package," true, it is a bit lax around here.

Elevator time, there's just something oddly relaxing and Zen in an elevator. Number one, it's very calm, hardly any noise. Number two, that elevator music is just so meditating, cools down our minds off a lot of different distractions. Number three, well there's no number three because we just arrived at the top sublevel.

"Act normally," Calian reminded us as we marched forward for the exit and finally, we came into a big hall with the receptionist in the center of the room and a huge holographic symbol of Militech. It was a lot more crowded here, people running around with their paperwork, spilt coffee in the corner, robot cleaners getting to work.

But with the Lord's grace, no one seems to even want to bother with us, everyone has their time schedule set, their estimated arrivals and to be blunt, everyone had their eyes on their watches rather than their surroundings. Oh look over there, two guys just bumped into each other because they just won't pay attention to where they're going,

"There's our exit," V silently indicated to the end of the hall, an automatic glass door guarded by two guard robots. What I don't understand is how no one has discovered that the robots guarding them were off, like, their eyes aren't shining. I guess, people have always loved to pay attention to the big things in life contrary to the small details which most of the time meant something.

It's a walk in the park, I totally did not think that this would be so effortless. We arrived in the scanning corridor where six cameras on either side of the wall shot grids of green lasers at us and at the end is a small post where 3 human guards are looking at the computer. I successfully walked through, Jill as well, Aria, V and finally at Calian... "Stop right there!"

What the actual shit?! Calian was stopped by the guard and a staring contest ensued. Is his scan-proof bag not so scan-proof now. "Meh, you can go, have a nice day," what the f*ck.
