Calm Down!

Crynn POV

And that's how it came to this point. Crashing straight through the huge and wide glass pane of a mega space station with like 5 rockets chasing us and blowing our backs. It's a wonder I survived with a damn panel of a rubble flying off the jet's roof and causing my hand to become what it has become, injured, bleeding, and fortunately I can subtly detect no broken bones, just extremely painful.

Oh right, did I say that one of the enemy ships just happened to make its way into the space station just before a huge metal gate closed upon the non-existent window to prevent anything from leaking to the endless vacuum of space. Yup, it has been quite a day. Anyway, I was a bit dizzy there, just got out of a crash, killed a robot, where are we?

In a casino much more palatial than the likes of Marina Bay Sands of the Las Vegas Bellagio. Now, I need to find the rest of our team, wherever they may be as well as fight off all the robots and anyone blocking my path. So, I've got my gun, one clip of magazine, three bullets used up, need to save my shots.

I probably have around 12 rounds left, give or take. Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Crap! That's a burst rifle right there, missing me by centimeters. Good thing my reflexes are still as strong as ever or my life would've been forfeited long ago. But, no, I'm not going to go up against a burst rifle wielding robot with a semi-automatic pistol.

So, I did the only thing I could think of, run back straight to the flame-filled wreckage of a spaceship and hope for the best. Now that I've thought, I should've picked up the few deactivated robots on the jet's guns, that would be so much help, but I did not and I'll live without it. Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Yup, that's just behind me.

Worst of all, many would expect countless cover in the wreckage of a jet. I mean, people fight in like destroyed and flaming vehicles all the time in movies. Let me tell you clearly how much of that denied realism, all of it. You stick your back to a burning vehicle, a car, a plane, a boat, they are all made of metal, a material that conducts heat.

So, laying behind cover in a metal-cased material, will burn your back and arm, even with clothing. I'm wearing my magical suit, that surely would prevent myself from being burned, wouldn't it? Wrong, I can feel the heat, I'm sweating, I'm not taking any risk whatsoever in this life or death situation.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Just in time, my dear savior! The sound of a robot falling over to the ground was heard behind me as I looked over to find none other than V with a gun, looking all the style with that mask. "You're alive?! Good, because if we got out of this alive and breathing, we're all going to have a good talk about how much of a mistake this has turned out to be!" That scream hurt my ears.

"Calm down," I tried to get her to cool off by raising my hand and pressing down twice. "Calm down?! Don't tell me to calm down! So far, this has been a major disaster, we have somehow landed ourselves inside the Crystal Palace! I've had led quite a traumatic life! I've died once, and another if you think of it, so don't tell me to calm down!!!" Welp, a lot of anger just came out.

"But yes, you're right, I should calm down and for the moment, I will," V then talked slowly while heavily breathing in and out with brief meditation. In the meantime, I left her to her own running gears and went over to the robot, snatching that juicy burst rifle out of its hands. From what I previously heard, this rifle fires four round bursts.

"Work well with dual pistols?" I asked V after she came over, still very wary and a bit paranoid. "I work well with any weapons and combinations, well maybe not so much blunt objects," okay then, that's good. "Take this then, now that I have a rifle, I won't need a pistol," I handed her my gun and knelt down to pick up a couple of magazines, now's the time to rock.

"You see the others?" I questioned V with a raise of my brows. "Nope, you're the first survivor I've met," okay, so finding the others is still my main objective. "Let's go search the rest, I have a feeling that those gunshots might lead us to them," I said with a huff and carefully gripped my burst rifle with steady hands.

"Just asking, will the Crystal Palace deploy any guards up here?" I know that's a useless question to ask because I already had the answer in my head but I just need someone else's words to shake me in. "What do you think? Of course the Crystal Palace will send a whole brigade up here, we're practically infiltrators and we crashed a 50 ton aircraft into the most expensive space station on low orbit!"

"Ok remember, chill, just trying to make small talk here, who knows, we could turn out to be the best of friends after this ordeal," because being so near to the wreckage is hot and I need a catalyst to distract me from the heat, and talking just happens to be the only option I currently have. Did I mention that said wreckage is still burning fervently, I did, didn't I.

Boom!!! "Something just exploded, you heard it?" Again, another unnecessary question subconsciously squirted from within my lips. "You think I'm deaf, we're in a room, anyone can hear such a loud decibel even from a level down. So yes, I can perfectly comprehend thee sound of explosion, shall we check it out?"

"Sure, boss."
