The Summoning XX

General POV

"Oh? A servant? How amusing," the newly summoned servant briefly ignored the arrogant tone as she had her eyes pinned on Gray's back right hand, her eyes squinted as she noticed the glowing command seal, 2 pairs of wings and a decorated heart, 'This is odd' she thought as she looked at her suspected, no already determined master.

She then looked behind to see a man, a servant, come out of the cloud of smoke. Servant Ruler squinted her eyes to discover, 'True Name Discernment doesn't apply?!' Every servant of the Ruler class is summoned with a more than useful skill, True Name Discernment, the ability to instantly recognize any servants as well as their skills and parameters but occasionally, also Noble Phantasms.

"This is Gilgamesh! The King of Heroes, servant Archer! His Noble Phantasm is the Gate of Babylon, allowing him to summon any treasure of humanity!" Lord El-Melloi II had also noticed his apprentice's command seal, immediately identifying that the woman protecting them is Gray's summoned servant.

"The King of Heroes..." Ruler looked as she made a stance on ground, moving the pointed tip of her flag pole towards Gilgamesh. Swish! 4 portals of gold formed as 4 swords flew out! Clank! Clank! Clank! Clank! Ruler effortlessly batted each sword away with her pole. 'Hmm... Revelation!' She chanted inwardly as her mind began moving fast.

One of her personal skills, Revelation allows her to passively make random correct choices or actively high-speed accurate deductions. For instance, Ruler desires to win the lottery, then the first ticket she scratched will turn to be the biggest prize and that is the passive aspect of it. By using it actively, Ruler can see every layer in every movement, knowing what to do and what not to do as well as calculating desired results and its probability.

'Attack power, presumably high. Defense, possibility on par. Chance of victory, lower than 10 percent,' Ruler thought in her mind as the thinking process remains incomplete with no clear knowledge of Gilgamesh's strength. Ruler is also a more defensive based servant, high physical and magical resistance and an extremely powerful Noble Phantasm as protection, Ruler is almost invulnerable but being invulnerable, doesn't mean invincible.

"Die, mongrel!" Ten portals opened behind the King of Heroes as he pointed at Ruler, unleashing a barrage of weapons onto the servant! "To launch an attack in such a public location, have you no control and knowledge of the Holy Grail's rules, despicable!" Ruler kept defending as each weapon started getting stronger for each volley, slowly rising in ranking.

"Oh? Do I need to follow the rules of a cup I already own? To question a king is a death sentence, mongrel!" Gilgamesh laughed without an once of care as a pair of long Chinese Jians push out of two portals and swish they go! Racing in speed, the two swords came into contact with Ruler's pole, parrying it away.

But unlike the previous accounts of weapons simply falling on the ground to be sucked back into the golden portal, this pair of swords seemed to be blessed with flight! As the moment they were parried, they soared above and rotated, aiming for both Ruler's shoulders! In a quick forward motion, Ruler avoided the swords, foregoing her pole as she grabbed the two swords' hilt and smashed them on the ground, inserting the swords into the asphalt, stuck in.

"Not bad, this king would've liked to play around with you mongrels for a little more while but I'm afraid I have my schedules to run. And you! The cur hiding behind the mongrel servant! You should be eternally gratefully for this king to display his benevolence in sparing your worthless life twice!" Gilgamesh chuckled aloud as he reentered the screen of smoke, disappearing from view.

"The Holy Grail War has started? It shouldn't have been for another 40 years!" As soon as the king was gone, Lord El-Melloi II stood up tall and immediately questioned Ruler! The servant in question on the other hand had even more questions of her own. One, this is not her world, this is an entirely parallel universe.

Two, she shouldn't have been able to be summoned! She made a deal, and that deal brought her back to life, back to her love, back to the mortal plane! So she shouldn't have been able to be summoned! Not while she was (somewhat) human and not residing in the Throne of Heroes! In any case, she needs to return, to her love!

And so far, even with Revelation, the only way that might happen is to win this Holy Grail War! Another accursed Holy Grail War! Especially after she 'died' from one! Ruler is so far frustrated and very mad for some really obvious reasons. "I am servant Ruler summoned for this Holy Grail War, my master is the girl you are currently carrying by your hands," Ruler gently said as she tried to keep anger inside rather than outside.

Lord El-Melloi II looked at Gray, still whimpering as he chanted lightly, "Gan Peine," a glowing green took place as Gray slowly relaxed back. "Ruler? There's no servant Ruler," Lord El-Melloi II stated clearly, the only other class out of the formal system he knew was the Avenger. "The Ruler class is special in the regards of the Class' main purpose."

"To judge, protect, and decide on fair play. The Ruler class enforces rules upon the contestants of the Holy Grail War with a large amount of power on the class' hands. One of such power are the command seals specifically owned by the Ruler class that can be used at any time at any servant. As well as True Name Discernment which allows me to recognize any servant except the previous one."

"I believe before continuing our well needed conversation, we need to head somewhere save, it does not bode well for me and I'm sure you as well if we just hang around in the middle of open cracked streets," Ruler said before Lord El-Melloi II could open his mouth to speak. "Fine, I know somewhere, let's go."

Overlooking a huge screen, a group of 8 sat around a circular table in watch. "The eight official servants have been summoned, let the first tournament... BEGIN!!!"
