Professor Williams

---Lara pov---

Lara: "Jonah, can you let me go already and also hand me the box you have in your pocket" Jonah let me go then handed me the box he had. I then checked the contents of the box and saw two gold artifacts.

I then grabbed one of the artifacts that looked like an antefix, used for the end piece of a roof for a royal house. I turned it around its back and saw a Japanese inscription on its back.

Lara: "Soul of Royalty," I read out loud. I then put that piece back to the box and grabbed the other golden artifact. I saw that it was a golden idol of queen Himiko when she was still young. I then scanned it for any inscription. I then found the inscription on the bottom of the icon. When I saw the writing, I was surprised that I was in old mandarin.

Lara: "Shit, I can't read this; I need to brush up my mandarin before I can read this." I said while putting the idol back in the box together with the other golden piece. I noticed that I don't see the other two golden artifacts that Jonah told me about when we were in the trailer.

Lara: "Jonah, do you know where the other two artifacts are?" I said while putting away the box for safekeeping.

Jonah: "Yes, Reyes has them, I think," he said while looking something inside his pocket. He then looked at me and asked to borrow a phone from me. " do you have a phone on you? I need to call Reyes to know where she is right now. After the Yematai incident, she does not want to see you as she still blames you for everything that happened back on that island."

When I heard that Reyes still hated me for what happened on the island, my heart stung a little. I know it was my fault for suggesting to head towards the dragon triangle, and she has the right to blame me for taking us there. I just hope that she will forgive me for everything that happened on that island.

I then shook my head to get my focus back to Jonah, who uses my old phone that is thankfully waterproof. It didn't take for Reyes to accept the call from Jonah.

Jonah: "Hello, Reyes, do you still have those gold artifacts that we took from the island," he said while waiting for a reply from the phone. "You have one, great where are you now you probably could tell those gold artifacts are giving us nightmares… what you said someone is after you right now."

When I heard Jonah's words, my heart skipped a beat as I looked worriedly at Jonah, who was shocked at what he heard.

Jonah: "where are you now? We'll be coming to help you," he said while waiting for a reply. After that, he ended the call then gave me back my old phone. "We need to head towards Ireland to meet up with Reyes."

When I heard that we would be heading to Ireland, I remembered one of my dad's friends, who could help me translate this old mandarine writing on the golden idol of Himiko.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Three days later, I am now in front of Trinity College in Dublin. This place is home to the most significant national treasure of Ireland, like the book of Kells and the illuminated manuscripts of the new testament. This place is also the home of the favorite place in the world, the library. Looking at the giant library building always takes my breath away when I see it.

Jonah went on ahead to find Reyes. Knowing that Reyes still hates me, I just stayed away from her.

I entered the library and started searching for Professor Williams, one of my dad's trusted friend. He was also one of the men that went with my dad to an expedition on Kunlun mountains. I still don't know what the journey is about or what they were trying to find. But they canceled it for some unknown reason.

I asked one of the librarians for the direction of the Profesor Williams office. When I was in front of his office, I knocked on the door. I waited for the Professor to open the door; I heard something breaking inside.

When I heard this, I got worried and entered the office without his permission. I entered his office and saw that there was a broken Chinese procaine vase. He noticed me and came running with open arms to hug me.

Williams: "Lara, it's good to see you again… how long is it since I saw you," he said, letting me go from his hug. "Last time I saw you, you were just a little monkey trying to get her father's attention. Hahahaha!" he laughed at me while I looked at the broken vase on the floor with a worried look on my face.

Lara: "Sorry, Professor Williams, I didn't mean for you to drop your valuable work." I said while looking guiltily at him. Professor Williams looked at me confusedly and then looked at the broken vase on the floor. He then started laughing out loud while holding onto his stomach.

Williams: "HAHAHAHA… Don't worry about that thing. It's made in China," he jokingly said, which I didn't get for a second before realizing what he meant by made in China. When I realized what he meant, I signed in relief knowing I didn't break a two thousand your old porcelain vase that would cost a fortune.

Lara: "thank god, I didn't just destroy something valuable. Dr. Williams," I said while looking at him.

Williams: "Lara, what happened to my cute little girl who always calls me uncle Calahan... I always gave you junk. I.. I mean super rare artifacts that happened to be laying around." he said while wiping a fake tear out of his eyes.

Calahan Williams looked like a healthy thirty-year-old man even though he is supposed to be in his sixties. He has black hair and brown eyes. Uncle Calahan is the only person that could tolerate my father's unsociable persona and the only one who believes my Dad's research on immortality. I always thought he was like my Dad, who has gone crazy from his study, but now I feel it is silly how blind I was back when I was a child.

Williams: "Lara, sorry for not going to visit you when you came back from the island, you must have seen something disturbing while you were there." he said worriedly. I shook my head, and I instead apologized to him.

Lara: "No, Uncle, you don't need to feel sorry for me. It should be me apologizing to you for not believing in your study on the occult." when I said my words, Uncle Calahan looked at me with surprise and asked me a question.

Williams: "Lara, by any chance, have you seen something you can't explain on the island." he said excitedly. I looked at Uncle Calahan, who looked like a child looking eagerly at me. I nodded at his question, which made the man run like a child who is being chased by something.

Williams: "YOU HAVE TO TELL ME WHAT YOU SAW ON THAT ISLAND…," he said while holding my shoulders and shaking me desperately. I looked at him worriedly and nodded at his words. "Good… so why are you here, Lara. I know you're not just here to say sorry about how you were wrong about my research." I didn't think twice and pushed him a small box that contained two golden items.

Lara: "I want to know about rituals that bring someone back from the dead…."
