Chapter 13: Exploration

Chapter 13: Exploration pt 3

Mc's POV

''Haa…..you know, a month ago. I would've avoided this area like a plague, after all coming here would just lead to mutual destruction, but that was a month ago. Now I'm stronger than any beast in this area of the forest, but that isn't enough for me. I want to explore deeper in the forest, earn more points and buy stronger weapons and techniques.'' I narrated as I sat beside the dying beast beside me, its breath was shallow showing that it was only a matter of time before it left this world.

The look of hatred in its eyes was its only driving force, its only desire was to tear me apart before dying. Sadly, that wish wouldn't be granted. Although the battle was hard-fought, I came out victorious it would just have to accept that.

''It might be unfair, you never provoked me, but I had to test myself and you were the only available subject for that. So please become my stepping-stone.'' I concluded my speech and used my sword to decapitate the beast.

Ding!!

''Host has acquired 10 thousand NP.'' I sighed and released all my fatigue; this was my first battle against a rank two beast. My wounds weren't fatal which was a good thing. All the training I undertook paid off in the end, but I did have claw marks and bruises that made my once flawless face look more battared but it added to my charm if I was being honest. The small scar that ran on my left cheeck or another one that was running across my jaw made me look like a bad boy of sorts.

I took out a scroll and sealed the beast's body inside. I would decide on what to do with it later, for now I needed to rest and prepare to leave this part of the forest.

I had already waited for three months, but the old man was nowhere to be seen and I couldn't sit idly and wait for rescue, I also had no idea if the old man could teach me about chakra.

I was taking a huge risk by going further inside the forest, still the enticing prospect of earning points by defeating other powerful beasts made the risk well worth it.

A rank 2 beast went for 40 thousand NP, what about a rank three or four beast? Whatever the worth was I'm sure I wouldn't regret this.

I wanted to buy the hyuga and Uchiha doujutsu but the cost was astronomical, the hyuga bloodline went for 40 million points due to its connection with gods and the same went for the Uchiha bloodline, its price had an extra 10 million due to the sheer passive gains it gave.

I had also found sharingan which already existed in that world and they went for even more than the bloodline, the most expensive went for 120 million points and upgrading it to a manngekyo sharingan cost 50 million and the EMS version cost 90 million. My current points (a 'measly ' 140 thousand points earned through countless life and death battles against all manner of suped up bears and wolves) weren't nearly enough to buy anything that valuable.

I could at least buy about 1 of the most powerful A-rank jutsu. I decided to focus on buying new clothes since my current attire was in tatters.

After browsing the system for a while, I came upon a certain section of clothing, they consisted a mesh armor with navy accents under an identical T-shirt with a simple white belt around the waist and dark blue pants the black cloak with red clouds made my smile widen.

These clothes invoked a strange excitement within me, it was a strange feeling since nothing moved me most of the time, especially simple clothing. A description of the clothes signaled that they belonged to an infamous group called Akatsuki, this explained why all looked identical.

The discovery of these clothes caused me to create a similar group when I went into the outside world, I felt a certain thrill whenever I thought about creating such a group, maybe we could become a major power of this planet.

For now, I settled on a simple Konoha jounin attire, a cloak and some storage scrolls, food pills, shuriken, paper bombs kunai. The overall cost me 35 thousand points. I spent another 80 thousand points to buy 3 B-rank justsu, one which could create copies of myself the second was a water based version of that but without the shared experience and lower chakra cost. The third was a version that allowed me to clone weapons instead.

Although the first technique was powerful its low price was attributed to the fact that it was hard to create a lot of clones unless one had a huge amount of chakra and the fact that the user experiences the pain and fatigue of his clones after they dispel.

After I had bought everything I needed, I put on my cloak and went on to continue my hopefully exciting adventure. I had a feeling that my life would change during this period of solitude. After hyping myself up and consuming some recovery pills, I left my tree and went deeper into the forest.

.... Back at the training grounds, 11 months after the mc had left

3rd person POV

Sam was currently panicking, he had woken up to find himself coved in weeds and his clothes were in tatters, this had led him to guess that he was out for months. After fully waking up, he searched for the boy to apologize and explain what happened, but the boy was nowhere to be found.

Sam had deduced that the boy must have left the barrier he set up to prevent anything from entering, he hadn't anticipated that the boy would also leave the barrier.

He searched everywhere for the boy, but the only lead he found was the death of a rank 2 beast and a tree that had a message addressed to him.

{I went deeper inside the forest, come find me when you wake up. P.S I'll be headed East, also I'm fine so don't worry.} That was all the message said. Besides that

Sam immediately gave chase; he didn't care that he hadn't recovered fully. All that mattered was that he found the boy and hopefully not as bones or a decaying carcass.

He flew east as fast as he could and occasionally stopped to look for any sign of the boy, along the way he found areas that showed a great battle had taken place. Sam prayed and hoped that the boy survived, he could tell from the remnants of energy in the surroundings that it was a fight against a high ranking beasts of the area, but he couldn't find any other energy signature, this led him to believe that it was the boy since he utilized a completely different form of energy from QI which Sam couldn't sense.

After spending half a day looking for the boy, Sam sensed a whisp of his Qi and happened upon a scene which almost caused him to cough up blood. The formally short and frail looking boy had grown taller once again, his skin was now a little tan and his spiky black and white hair remained standing, the boy's frame was now a little muscular he also had small scars running across his face. The only reason Sam recognized him was due to the fact that his Qi was still lingering on the boy.

His change in appearance was not what shocked Sam, it was the fact that the boy was fighting against a huge Rank 4 flame Salamander, the boy seemed to be holding his own and although Sam wanted to interfere. His curiosity caused him to just fly on the side and watch.

The boy and the huge salamander were an even match, the fact that the boy used water while the beast used fire made the match-up close too.

The boy seemed to be using the wind in his palm to propel himself forward, he would then use the two swords coated in electricity to deliver cuts all over the beast's body, the salamander didn't stand by idly and watch the boy as he did this though. It would spew columns of fire at the boy causing him to retreat.

The beast would the use this chance to coat itself in flames and rush at the boy, intending to topple him or use its tail as a whip.

The fight went on, the boy seemed to be losing stamina as he used flashier water techniques to create clones of himself or water balls, this gave the salamander the advantage. It threw endless amounts of flame spears and spewed flame pillars at the boy remorselessly.

Sam couldn't help it anymore, he was about to rush in when he saw the boy make another a cross hand-sign with his fingers, two clones of the boy appeared, shocking Sam since they felt as real as the boy, not like the water ones he saw before. The boy, who now had two clones of himself, all ran towards the beast; intending to end this fight with one more attack.

The beast responded in kind and charged up another flame attack, the clone at the front used a wind technique and rushed the beast before it could finish preparing, a sword, clad in lightning managed to pierce the beast's eye.

The beast lost control and thrashed wildly; its whole surface started producing high temperature flames causing the clone to dissipate.

The other two didn't stop approaching, one of them made some hand signs.

''Water release: Great Waterfall technique!!'' The boy bellowed and expelled huge amounts of water from his mouth and into the air. The water came crashing down at the salamander causing a hissing sound and a huge cloud of steam to rise and obscure the location.

Sam couldn't see what was happening inside anymore, he decided to rush in and help the boy.

With a simple wave of his hand, all the steam in the area was blown away to reveal a panting and sweaty youth, and a dead beast which had been sliced cleanly in half.

Sam hissed as he looked at the boy's slightly burnt skin, but the boy himself seemed to shrug it off. He unfastened one of the bandages on his wrist, a puff of smoke emerged, and the boy was now holding a scroll.

After taking the scroll, the boy approached the beasts and did a hand sign, the beast disappeared, and the boy resealed the scroll back on the markings on his wrist.

''Haaa.....only 2 million before I buy that scroll.'' The boy mused; he was seemingly unaware of Sam's presence as he was about to leave.

''AHEM!!'' Sam coughed loudly to get his attention; the boy responded with a sudden attack with a sword that suddenly appeared in his hand.

''Calm down boy, it's just me.'' Sam said after parrying the strike which was aimed to lop off his head.

''I- is it really you?'' The boy asked wearily, this caused a feeling of guilt to arise within Sam. Although he had lost control over his body at the time, he could still clearly remember the events that took place.

''Y-yeah, I'm sorry for what happened boy. Please allow me to explain myself.'' Sam bowed and showed his exposed neck to the boy, he wanted to show his utmost sincerity.

''You don't have to do that, what kind of student would I be if my teacher was the one to bow?'' The boy consoled and helped Sam rise back up.

''I'm sure you have a valid explanation for what happened.'' The boy said with a smile, showing Sam that he was not blaming him for those events.

''Thanks boy.'' Sam spoke, his eyes were watery and about to burst but he held it all in.

''Let's get out of this place, those damn vultures won't take long to come here.'' The boy said and started running west. Sam was confused at what the boy meant but followed him anyway.
