Chapter 18:Primal chakra

Lethe's POV

Immediately after we arrived, Sam, who was mumbling incomprehensible words told me to sit down. He placed his hand on my back and a weird sensation took over me. My whole body started feeling warm and relaxed, I unconsciously let out a hum as I enjoyed the blissful feeling.

''Ah! I found it!'' Sam exclaimed excitedly as he removed his hand.

''What did you find old man?'' I asked, a little disappointed that he stopped whatever he was doing. Even a professional masseur/masseuse back on earth couldn't compare.

''Your dantain'' He busily spoke, already writing some notes in a diary that appeared out of nowhere.

''What does that have to do with increasing my power?'' I asked, a little confused because I didn't use qi.

''Boy the energy you use is based on your physical and spiritual power right.'' Sam asked.

''Yes, but how did you know?'' I asked, I don't remember telling him this information unless… he scanned my mind.

''Don't overthink things boy, I just scanned your energy pathways. What do you call this energy by the way?'' He assured, still the way he knew what I was thinking left me skeptical.

''Chakra.'' I replied, still contemplating if my expressions were so easy to read. I thought my years of experiences in the business world made me quiet adept at hiding it.

''What are you planning old man?'' I asked after a long silence.

''Well I have a theory. Since your energy seems to blend well with qi. Why not reattach your severed meridians to your dantain and chakra lines, the qi would act as a kind of booster to the potency of your attacks.'' Sam explained, his proposal seemed familiar with an already practiced act in Naruto; absorbing nature energy to enter sage mode.

''The chances of success are still unknown but, in a week, or two we'll be ready to begin the operation or abandon this plan. Even if it fails it just means we moved your energy from one storage unit to another'' He further explained, still writing down something in his diary.

''Since when are you an expert at such things, last time I checked you're a master illusionist.'' I asked with a raised eyebrow.

''I had to learn about alchemy and medical cultivation methods when trying to find a cure, since nobody could help me, I though I could do it myself.'' He explained, it was as if he expected such a question from me.

''Haa…. We can try this, on the condition that I'm also involved in the exercise.'' I declared; my curiosity also tempted me to also explore this unorthodox option.

''Great! You can start by giving me all the information you can about your chakra and how it works, then we can begin.'' Sam agreed easily, we both started immersing ourselves in compiling information. It felt like we were two passionate researchers, who were trying to push the limits of the unknown.

...3 months later

''Take deep breaths, keep a constant flow of chakra just for a tad longer.'' Sam instructed calmly, we spent three months doing nothing but research and building theories on how to proceed.

At first, we explored other options less extreme than messing with my chakra pathways and dantain. We used external sources of qi to boost my chakra, but the idea was soon cast away after the Qi was expelled almost immediately after.

After that the only option was to connect my dantain to my chakra pool, we had theorized that the Qi needed my soul's imprint in order to not be regarded as some sort pathogen and get kicked out of my system. We spent a whole two months and a half preparing for every possible difficulty (I even learnt basic medical techniques). After that we begun a long and painful 12 hours of melding the two together.

We used a small amount of an elixir called the Qi reconstructing liquid, and a pill made of pure and compressed qi, which had crystalized outside while being liquid inside. It would supply my dantain with qi.

At first the meridian wouldn't connect no matter what, but as I was using a medical technique to heal the bruising as a result of a backlash. One thin strand of qi stayed connected to my chakra pool and started to slowly absorb my chakra towards my dantain.

Immediately after knowing, we used my technique and just like before, a few more meridians connected. after this discovery, we went back to operation with newfound strength. Slowly and painfully, the seconds ticked by until the last of the 200 thousandth strand connected.

''We're done.'' Sam informed me, as he started cracking his neck and fingers.

I wiped the sweat that had formed on my forehead and opened my eyes, below me was a puddle of my sweat.

''How do you feel?'' Sam asked as he helped me get up.

''Nothing feels different.'' I replied, still a little out of it, the phantom pain from the operation still remained.

''Try using your chakra.'' Sam advised.

I nodded and closed my eyes, I gulped nervously as I started trying to sense my chakra. The familiar warm feeling that originated from my stomach was still present, albeit it felt like like a muddy substance.

I slowly guided it to my hand. I was shocked by the bright blue glow that covered my whole forearm like a membrane.

''Channel an element inside it.'' Sam instructed as he took notes.

I channeled my lightning element; I was dumfounded once more as arcs of red lightning crackled wildly. Startled, I stopped my chakra flow and stopped the frightening anomaly.

''Mwhuahahahah. It worked, I can't believe it.'' Sam laughed like an evil scientist and danced around as if he had won the lottery. His body moved in a disturbingly creepy way as he shook and shivered in joy.

''WHAT THE F*CK WAS THAT!!'' I automatically screamed loudly, only to receive a smack from Sam.

''Language, also what happened was a discovery of a new and powerful energy born between Qi and chakra boy. No doubt its like that sage mode you spoke of!'' Sam excitedly explained, I could tell he was genuinely happy for me. This brought a smile to my face, he always tries so hard.

''Hehehe…. Yeah old man, we're the pioneers of a new powerful force. Primal chakra!!'' In a fit of a excitement I ended up naming the new energy.

''I like it! Let's go test it. Heheheh…'' Sam suggested while laughing creepily. Normally I would've made a joke or rude comment, but today why not join him?

''Heheheh…. Great minds think alike.'' We laughed creepily for a few more seconds as we were teleported towards the training grounds.
