She was crazy! An elite monster meant a monster that deals more damage and has more HP, plus the fact that it was a level 3 monster, while Edwyn was only level 1, it was madness! Total madness!
"Listen Milady, I think...."
"You can call me Aelya." She interjected.
"I...Fine. Listen Milady Aelya, we don't have any chance...."
"Take it or leave it."
Edwyn took his time to think carefully. He was pretty sure it wasn't a trap. No one would waste his time doing this sort of thing, at least not with an unknown and a level 1 at that. This Aelya looked rather confident so maybe she had some trick in her sleeve. It was worth giving a try.
"Okay, I accept." Edwyn said, accepting the invitation he received from the young woman. "Lead the way Milady Aelya."
The young woman smiled and made a gesture before heading toward a forest near them.
Edwyn used this time to check her information.
[Aelya. Warrior level 1.]
80HP/80HP.
0/100 Rage.
80HP? That seemed rather... low. Edwyn looked at his own informations. He possessed 50HP, which wasn't high either.
What a promising team!
"I found this spot earlier, while exploring the surroundings" Aelya explained as they were walking. "There were a lot of bears sleeping beneath the trees. They are quite far away from each others, so if we pull one of them and get him closer to us, we should be able to fight peacefully.
Edwyn nodded, but was unable to understand how to put together "elite monster level 3" with "fight peacefully".
"Tell me Milady Aelya, is it your first time on this game or did you join the beta before?"
There was a possibility that she was a beta tester. It would explain why she was so confident about her own abilities.
"Nope, first time. I heard about this game yesterday."
Wonderful. They were gonna be completely crushed.
There was no more discussions between the two as they entered the forest. Aelya looked around her while taking an axe and a shield from her back.
Edwyn was about to ask her how they would proceed when he noticed a big heap of black fur. Aelya saw it too and without a warning she charged at it. Her axe made a beautiful arc before hitting the fur. There was blood, and a raging growl.
That was a bear.
A really, really big bear, with biig claws and he looked really angry!
The bear lifted his paw and tried to shred Aelya into pieces.
The young woman stayed calm, took a step back, avoided the strike and replicated with a blow right in the head.
Her movements were swift, elegant and deadly, a natural-born warrior, it looked as if she has done this for her entire life.
She moved around the bear, stricking before taking a step back, and repeated this pattern until the bear finally fell, and all of this without the help of Edwyn.
"See ?" She asked with a smile. "there is nothing to fear if he can't land a blow!"
Indeed, she was right, and the best part was that the experience bar of Edwyn get 10% for this kill. The fight lasted only five minutes. In other word, they needed nine more fight to level up, 45 more minutes.
Wasn't it a little bit... too easy?
