Chapter 39: Returning

Jake appeared back in the main hall of the monastery as he appeared he knocked into Holly who was rushing down the hallway.

Holly: OH, Jake hello, good to see you are okay

Jake: Hi, holly sorry about that

Holly: No worry, I have made you a new set of clothes, I'll bring them to you I'm sure Gabrielle will want to see you, she is in the library

Jake: Thank you, I'll go see her now

Holly: Also congrats on the fights, we really thought you died out there

Jake: Thanks, I thought I did as well

With that he made his way down the hallway towards the library, as he entered the room he was met with Taka, Eucliffe, and Gabrielle all reading, he walked up to the table as they had not noticed him yet.

Jake: Hey I'm back

They all looked up at him shocked that he was actually standing there, standing up they all greeted him back.

Gabrielle: It was hit and miss there for a while, I'm glad you made it

Jake: Yeah me to, also what should I do with these

Jake then pulled out the two flasks and handed them to Taka.

Jake: Did you watch both fights in full

Taka: Yeah I'll take these to the chambers, and of course we watched both fights

Eucliffe: Well we missed a bit of the fight, but that's why we are in here, what exactly happened between you fights with Djynn?

Jake knew he was talking about when he spoke with Shi, clearly, they could not see him on the crystal when he was there.

Jake: Well that's kind of hard to explain, I met with the other blue flame users, well one of them

Gabrielle: Wait what?

Jake: Yeah it was really strange, he gave me a power boost that's how I was able to defeat them

Gabrielle: What was his name? The person you met

Jake: Shi, I actually met him twice

Gabrielle: What? How?

Jake: I'm not too sure, but I think it was because I was almost dead both times, that's how he explained it anyway

Eucliffe: When was the second time?

Jake: Just now after the last fight, I was hit with an attack that almost killed me

Gabrielle: What did you and this Shi talk about?

Jake explained to them both exactly what he spoke about with Shi, as he was telling them Taka walked back into the library joined by Holly who had Jake's new robes.

Taka: Clearly I've missed something here

Jake: I'll tell you later, are these my new clothes?

Holly: Yes, as you can see I have made a few improvements to them

Jake held up the robes and noticed the fabric felt a lot tougher, he could also see some sort of armour on the front over the legs, arms, and chest area.

Holly: The armour is supposed to make it stronger for you powers

Jake: Thank you, it looks great

Jake then left to put on his new robes and to clean up leaving them in the library, as they waited for him to return Gabrielle told Taka everything Jake had told them about what happened to him.

Jake walked back into the library looking clean and wearing his new clothes, he was also carrying a new sword.

Jake: I hope you guys don't mind but I thought I would need another backup, as mine kind of broke.

Taka started laughing as he pulled out Jake's old hilt that he collected from the desert and handed it to Jake.

Taka: kind of broke? That's all that's left

Jake looked down at the hilt and could not believe his power did this to the blade

Jake then looked over at Gabrielle.

Jake: Could I speak to you in private a real quick?

Gabrielle: Of course, if you would

She then gestured Eucliffe and Taka to leave, leaving them on their own in the library.

Gabrielle: So what is it you want to talk about?

Jake: I know this is bad, but, in my last fight, someone saw my power, I actually just left her in the field

Gabrielle looked annoyed.

Gabrielle: You do remember what I said would happen if you told anyone?

Jake: Yes I know, I would be killed, but it's not like I told her, she just saw everything

She started to look uneasy with Jake

Jake: She did say she would not tell anyone

This made Gabrielle even angrier

Gabrielle: YOU SPOKE WITH HER?

Jake: Of course, it's not like I told her anything

Gabrielle calmed herself down

Gabrielle: What is it you want to do?

Jake: Well, I'm not sure, she seemed very excited about my powers, maybe tell her about us, or just about me, I really don't know what to do

Gabrielle: You know I should punish you but you have done great work dealing with the demons for us, I'll let you do whatever you want, just don't mention the rest us

Jake looked surprised by her response and as she let the others back in the room he knew what he was going to do, Jake said his goodbyes and teleported back to the field.
