Chapter 47: The Last Capture

Jake was currently in such pain that he could barely keep himself from passing out, Eucliffe and Taka were extracting Valac from Jakes Soul Blade whilst Gabrielle was keeping Jake safe making and reassuring him.

Jakes aura was erupting all around him making it incredibly difficult for the two to actually continue the extraction causing Jake to suffer for longer than expected, it wasn't until Gabrielle came over to help them making the extraction a lot easier.

As Valac was being sucked into the flask a bright purple figure passed from Jakes Soul Blade into the flasks light as that happened the purple light strip on the blade turned back into a dark blue, as they saw the colour change they instantly put the sheath back on.

As they did Jakes aura immediately stopped and Jake was collapsed on the ground, Taka ran over to him and flipped him over as he did he could see Jakes injuries start to slowly heal, seeing this they all sighed in relief as they knew it worked.

Gabrielle took the flask away to the chambers where the other demons were kept and the other two carried Jake back to his room, as they were about to lay him on his bed he woke up still a bit hazy.

Jake: So, did it work?

Taka: By the looks of things, yes

Jake nodded and stood back up from his bed.

Jake: Right, I need to go somewhere, if you guys don't mind

Both not knowing exactly where he wanted to go they let him go on his way, Jake was heading back down the hall, walking past Gabrielle who turned in shock to see him on his feet so soon after.

Gabrielle: Where are you going to?

Jake: Back home, there are a few things I need to do

Gabrielle nodded to him as he grabbed his Soul Blade and vanishing from the monastery back home.

Jake was back in his house, as he looked around he could see it was a complete mess as he had not been there for some weeks, walking into his bedroom he placed his Soul Blade down and got dressed in some smart clothing.

Jake grabbed his phone and started to call his friend Harry.

Harry: JAKE?

Jake: Sup harry

Harry: Jake the fuck, where have you been?

Jake: I was busy with work, I need to know something, where is Abigail's grave?

Harry: You don't know? What happened to you two?

Jake had to quickly think as he did not know if anyone even knew about him.

Jake: Well that's complicated, we broke up days before what happened to her

Harry: Jesus, everyone thought she had killed you as well

Jake: Do you know where her grave is?

Harry: Of course, I went to the funeral

Harry told him what cemetery it was at and also went on to tell him about the people who went to terrorize the funeral, he told Jake how Abigail's mom started to attack some of the people and was screaming at them.

This angered Jake as he knew if it was not for him Abigail would still be alive and she would not be seen as some sort of terrorist.

Jake promptly arrived at the cemetery that Abigail was buried in and looked around to find her grave, as he came across it he broke down in front of it, in complete tears.

Jake: I'm so sorry Abigail, I never meant for this, I wish you were here, I know there's nothing I can do about it, which is breaking me up inside

Jake pulled out a small box from his pocket, a box he had kept in his clothes draw for a few weeks now, opening it and looking at the contents, a small diamond engagement ring, something he was going to give her in the upcoming weeks.

Jake took the ring out the box and placed it in his pocket, leaving the open box on top of the grave, and quickly teleporting out of the graveyard.

Knowing he would have to make it up to Abigail's family as they were going through it a lot rougher than he was but being too scared to even show his face to them he decided the only thing he could do was give them all the money that he had.

Pulling out all the cash from his bank he placed it all in a box and left it on their doorstep with a note that read "I know it can never fill the void of a love one, but I hope this will make your lives easier, as I know that I made it such a hard one, nothing I could do could ever get your forgiveness and I know this will not even make a dent in our relationship, but I simply can't have it, I'm so sorry signed The Masked Hero"

He knew signing it with that name would give some peace to them.

Jake was now completely broke and only had his house left with all his possessions in it, he knew he would now have to get an actual job to not look suspicious on being the Masked Hero,

Jake had finally gotten all his orders in check and knew he only had one thing to do, Jake teleported to a large hill which was located in his home town and took out his Soul Blade and unsheathing it, as he did so his Aura started to burst out of his body, this time not burning him.

Jake then concentrated and suppressed his aura from showing, slowly it died down until nothing was showing, he then took his Soul Blade and climbed onto a huge boulder pointing the blade down at the boulder he activated his aura around his arms and the blade and impaled the boulder.

Now that the blade was in the boulder Jake kept the aura around the sword active for a while leaving it to imbed itself within the rock, knowing he was not going to need to use the sword again, happy with how the sword was and confident that no one could remove it he quickly teleported back home to continue what life he had left.
