"This should do." I hummed as I looked around.
I was currently hovering over a large hilly and somewhat rocky field that stretched out for quite a while in every direction. The place was about ten kilometers away from where the necromancer was with a large winding river that partially separated them on the west and south sides.
(The area is quite open and easy to spot from a distance but that's fine, the hills can be used for some defense and it will also be easy to see incoming threats as well. It's also far enough away from the forest to give both sides some time to prepare their plans and countermeasures.) I thought with a slight nod and a serious look on my face.
"How do I want to do this...?" I muttered in thought before coming to a conclusion. "Let's make the underground part first and work my way up from there."
And so I did, I started by creating a simple square room deep underground before teleporting into it, once inside said room I began to expand the area rapidly. I first created a literal maze or labyrinths made up of hundreds of twisting corridors and large to medium sized rooms. The labyrinth was split up into multiple layers and floors that were all connected together by stairs and randomly appearing portals that would teleport people around if they accidentally walked into them. As for decorations, well, I planned to decorate everything once I had finished the framework for the whole structure.
I then created a larger central room at the very bottom that was nearly four kilometers in size with a large elevated platform in the middle of the room, like a massive altar that was hundreds of meters in size. Once this was done I moved back up and began adding various decorations as well as several other things. Deadly booby traps, the support structures, treasure and magical items, I even added dripping water and other such things to improve the atmosphere more. The whole place looked like a rather magnificent abandoned Labyrinth with fascinating yet crumbling murals covering most of the walls.
Finally I moved back to the bottom chamber where I finished everything off by decorating the whole place. Streaks of gold lining the walls with molten metal running through cracks to form different images, pools of magma collecting in several moats as it poured out of various funnels built into massive pillars of spiraling stone.
The thing that stood out the most however was the pedestal that was covered in gold and silver as well as various humanoid statues that were covered in shimmering crystal like armor that seem to almost ripple like water when touched. These statues would actually come to life and attack anyone that entered this place, so long as they didn't have a certain item that is.
After finishing the central chamber I decided to add one more thing, a few counter measures to stop people from cheating. I made it so that no one could teleport into here except for me while also increasing the density of the walls to the point that they were nearly indestructible.
"Now then, what will I make the god...?" I mused in thought while tapping one of my horns.
"I could just go with a dragon or some kind of armored giant thing but that just sounds boring if I'm being honest..."
"How about a spider?" I asked myself and found that I liked the idea. "I mean it would fit with the time thing I got going, a time weaver god." It was the best I could think of at the time so I just went with it.
Waving my arms a massive two hundred meter tall spider appeared before me. Its body was a shimmering gold mixed with swirls of dark void like black. Its exoskeleton was sharp and angular with spikes running all the way down its back as well as around the front of its legs. In fact instead of looking somewhat creepy it looked more like a piece of art.
However, despite its stunning appearance the being's looks were somewhat ruined by the wounds that covered its body. It was missing two of its legs and large sections of its exoskeleton had cracked to the point of crumbling off in some places.
I also took a second to go back and change the artwork to feature various images and sculptures of spiders and other such imagery. I probably should have thought of the god first but oh well.
"That should do." I yawned with a stretch. "Now then..."
I quickly teleported back up to the surface before saying to myself. "Time to work on the village."
(I should Make it defensible but not so much that it's impossible to break into.) I thought before getting to work.
The first thing I did was create the walls, two of them, the outer and inner walls, both of which would be made of a mixture of wood and stone. I gave said wall several watch towers as well as a rather spacious walkway that would allow people to walk around them.
As for the town itself I quickly created it with a somewhat medieval theme. Old fashioned houses, a guard station, various shops, a somewhat large park, a church that stood close to the center of town on a small hill as well as various other things. I even added in a road that traveled out from the main gate and led to several key places on the island, one of these places was a farm northwest of the village.
I also took the time to create an abandoned manor that stood off to the side all by itself. The manner was important as I ended up connecting the underground labyrinth to its seller behind a sealed iron door.
The villagers were next and were by far the quickest thing I got done today. I didn't really put much care into them if I'm being honest, in fact I just put down around twenty thousand people of varying ages and professions with only a little planning on my part. Of course I put some effort into their memories and their personalities, I also selected several groups of villagers, about two or three hundred people all together and gave them the ability to slowly remember the resets as time passed by.
"And done." I smiled as I looked at my finished creation. "Now all I have to do is just sit back and wait to see what happens."
After the village was finished I quickly went around and added a few other key items and objects that I thought would help things along. Small bits of lore, all abandoned structures and even some items that will help either side down the line. It was around this time that I was abruptly forced to stop.
'Lady Suu?' Shuna's voice suddenly echoed in my mind, catching me a little off guard.
'What is it Shuna?'
'Lord Rimuru is back, please return.'
I was a little annoyed that I couldn't continue but sighed non the less. 'Be there in a sec.' With that said I cut the link.
I took one last look around before opening up a rift to leave. "Already, guess I'll just let this run for a while and see the results when I come back."
"Hopefully my efforts will be worth it..."
