When age rules the country, it’s hard to be young.

Trey runs away from the youth reserve, sure he’s no more than spare parts for a father he barely remembers. The Council of Elders has its own questions about the him. When Trey find the Underground and joins the fight to give rights back to the Youngers, he starts a chain of events beyond anyone’s control.

Generation Gap

Black masked people poured into the corridor at one end while local police poured in through the other. Canisters rolled down the hall spewing even more smoke and gas. He heard a shot before coughing and gasping enveloped the police end of the cells. 


One of the masked figures knelt at the door to Trey's cell and fumbled with the lock. Trey staggered to his feet and headed toward the door. A police officer grabbed the person trying to pick the lock. Trey reached through the bars to grab at the cop, but fell against them instead. Another tiny figure stormed out of the smoke and leveled the cop. He'd seen her in action enough to know exactly who it was. 


When he tried to say something the gas choked his throat closed until he could barely grunt. Jimmy finished with the lock and Lizzy sent him back into the smoke with a none-too-gentle smack. She pulled the door open and strong arms guided him back toward the gaping hole in the wall.
