When age rules the country, it’s hard to be young.

Trey runs away from the youth reserve, sure he’s no more than spare parts for a father he barely remembers. The Council of Elders has its own questions about the him. When Trey find the Underground and joins the fight to give rights back to the Youngers, he starts a chain of events beyond anyone’s control.

Generation Gap

Back at the safe house, Trey rubbed Red's back while they talked. Lizzy was cooking up something for supper. 


"From what my father said, I suspect a group in the Council is working on setting the groundwork for rule, not just by the rich and old, but by a small group of immortals. They're gambling either artificial biologicals or cloning and transplant technology will soon have a break-through which would let them live forever. They will share with no one.  The only way they will be able to put all the 'reforms' into effect will be by open rebellion, or by imposing martial law. If they can force a rebellion by the Youngers they will be able to curtail the last few rights we have without any protest. Once they are in force, it won't be hard to manage them. A few people who are in the council will die; then they are effectively in complete control.
