They walked back to the Inn and Charlotte helped Grace clean the filth from her, while Odo, Jagger and Tedric went to the rear of the building to the stables. "I want ye to show Jagger yer fighting skills, Tedric. If ye can fight and obey Jagger, I will hire ye and Grace. She can help with the food. I need some fighting men."


Tedric looked at Odo. "Thank ye Master Odo. I'll do m'best, I will."


Jagger rummaged around and found two pieces of wood, equal in length that would serve as dummy swords. He handed one of them to Tedric. "Do yer utmost to hurt me, Tedric." He stepped back and took a couple of mighty practice swings. The wood swooshed dangerously through the air and wisely Odo took a couple of steps away to avoid being struck.


Tedric felt the weight and he too took a couple of swings. "I don't want to hurt ye."


Jagger laughed, "Do yer best." He leapt forward and the wooden sword arced down towards Tedric's kidneys.
