Chapter 136

On reaching Falls Ende, a portly man strode up to meet them.

"Who are ye?" asked the bishop foregoing pleasantries.

"Hale to ye, Yer Grace. I am Master Mason Mundy." He respectfully lowered his head. "And to what do we owe this unexpected pleasure-"

The bishop peered down his nose at the man. "I wish fer an update on yer progress here, make it quick, ye are taking valuable Church time." A cleric gently assisted the bishop down from the litter.

"Had I known ye would visit with us-"

"I'm not here for a visit or to exchange banter, I wish to know the progress yer making," interrupted the bishop testily.

Mundy cleared his throat. "If Yer Grace would like to come this way, I can show ye." He waved an arm and indicated the bishop should lead.
