Chapter 145

It was late morning when Sir Kasos was summoned to attend to Mynhear Richter at a tannery, one of many businesses he owned. Antonius wasted no time in explaining what he'd learned.

"Your koe boer friend is in Frisia to buy cows." Mynhear Richter frowned. "He has a fat purse, and is buying every cow he can. Tell me, Sir Knight, why is it that a young farmer has so much coin to spend and why is it he travels with armed men?"

The stench of urine used in tanning leather was overpowering. It was deliberate of Mynhear Richter to bring him here to make him feel uncomfortable and queasy. Sir Kasos swallowed. "With yer help, that is what I have come to find out. We would like to see him fail in this, mynhear. Is there a way to prevent him from buying cows or returning with them to England?"

Richter shook his head, "Nay, not unless he has done something wrong."

Sir Kasos looked up at the tall Frisian. "Is there is way that he, uh, could have done something wrong?"
