Her eyes flickered open taking in the sweet scented candle burning beside her bed. It made her feel woozy. Hmm, no husband beside her—late night again with his friends. Damn that’s right, she had finally gone to bed, and left Sidonio to tend to the guests.

What a great party! Huh, now both of them forty years old and still acting like twenty-something. One day it will catch up! Though they had hardly known each other, and married for such a short time, their souls positively melted together and love was embedded in their hearts.

Her mind drifted to the hazy dream that fogged her mind. She had heard raised voices in the throne room and she went inside and met Sidonio’s brother for the first time! What a great birthday surprise. Height and muscularity certainly ran in his family. It was refreshing as she knew nothing of Sidonio’s family, whom he refused, for no apparent reason, to talk about.
