The others weren't far. They trickled into the building in pairs and small groups as the last of the daylight died. Fresco could feel them all around him, their energy and gifts pressing against him. His pace slowed until he was barely moving. Daniel didn't comment, but neither did he let Fresco stop completely.
By the time they reached their destination, the last doorway between Fresco and the painful world of Wasted kids, he was sweating from the effort of keeping it together.
Justin refused to leave him alone.
What if they judge you? What if you freak out and do something to them? What if you just being there means the Garbagemen are coming and it's all your fault?
