When we emerged from the dark unpleasantness of London's underbelly, Damon immediately steered us in a new direction and it only took me a few moments to understand where we were going.
"Are you certain this is a good idea?" I caught up with him as we entered the lovely residential district I'd come to know.
"We need to talk to Sassafras," he said, "and let Mum and Da know what's happening. Since he's with Georgina... we have little choice, sis."
I glanced behind me at Kate who seemed much lighter of step the closer we came to her home. "Nice try," I said. "We both know Kate could contact Sass at any point."
He sighed, shrugged. "Just for once do as I ask you, Tweet."
There was nothing I despised more than the nickname he'd shouldered me with when we were very young. I punched his arm hard for reminding me, forgetting and using my metal hand. He flinched and rubbed at the spot.
"Careful how you use that thing," he said.
