Chapter 75: Priorities

I stepped out of the black and into the Daeva's main chamber overlooking the ocean, locked onto the feeling of my sister

and the sorcery of the Daeva. It helped they hadn't left the last room I'd been in before my ill-fated flight with Mabel,

making them easy to track and use as a beacon. All my concerns about my drach ancestor came flooding back as the

occupants of the room reacted with varying degrees of upset at my sudden appearance.

Bakari's magic hit me the same moment Raethnn's did, though neither made it through my shields. I managed to block them

both, but knew a pending double strike from Syd and Max would be my end if I didn't manage to convince them. I shouldn't

have worried. My sister spun and threw energy at the Daeva instead, halting further attacks.

"It's Meira!" She turned back, blue eyes huge. "Isn't it, Meems?"

"Syd." I offered Theridialis as she hesitated. "Help him, please. He has the cure."
