 "You've treated Māori like cattle, and not had the decency or civility to treat them as people." 


The colonel opened his mouth to interrupt.


"I have nothing but contempt for you, and anyone who supports the unethical pursuits of the Company." Andrew looked at Wakefield with disdain. 


"They are savages, we've brought them prosperity, civilisation and laws!" countered Wakefield.


Hearing the commotion, Charles made his way to the table.


"You've brought them grief and you should be ashamed of yourself!" Andrew retorted.


"He's absolutely correct, William. I agree with everything he's said. Now go, leave us in peace," Isaac stated emphatically. 


"Gentlemens, Gentlemens, please," said Charles as he arrived. "Please colonel, sit down and haves a refreshments, ya?" He grabbed Wakefield's arm and led him back to his table at the other end of the room.  


Andrew was shaking, his hands trembling with rage.
