Balance

Cain gazed at the view from his room, he was looking at the night sky. For the first time in a long time, he could finally have a decent rest. Greed was satisfied by their recent escapade and was being rather tame when they got home.

Honestly, Cain wasn't sure if Greed was a boon or a bane. Greed couldn't physically harm him, as he was a natural part of him. But Greed would make sure to inflict mental harm to Cain every so often. It was akin to trying to extinguish Cain's spirit to become the sole owner of the body.

God made sure that we were perfectly balanced, as it should be... We were the perfect representation of Carlton Drake's dream, man, and symbiote combined - a whole new being. Except, that the human ego and the symbiote were contesting for the sole ownership of the body.

It was like having a life and death battle every time you sleep.

When he let out Greed for the first time, he felt that the balance slightly tilted against his favor. Greed managed to influence him, making him indifferent about eating and killing 'food'. Greed was also stoking the fires of his greed for power and safety in a twisted sort of way. It was urging him to plunder resources to strengthen them, it was a tempting itch to scratch.

As he laid down in bed, Cain continued to ponder about his findings. Greed was a quick ticket to power, but also a straight ticket to hell. Using him was strengthening him, Cain needed a stable and reliable power. Cain wasn't some sort of genius that can learn stuff in a short time, so sorcery and technology was a no go.

Feeding... Greed can assimilate worthy traits found from someone's genes. But doing that in quick succession would just be suicide. Other symbiotes were viable prey, so is old man Steve Rogers...

*thud*

Cain was attracted by a noise coming from the window.

A black cat was mating with a white one on the window ledge.

"Black Panther" Cain murmured.

Maybe the Black Panther's heart-shaped herb can help him solve his dilemma. It was a good way to obtain power instantly, it doesn't involve eating people.

Well... The point is. He didn't have a reliable way to go to Africa, much less finding Wakanda.

For now, Cain closed his eyes to sleep.

Agent Hans Southernisle, a level 6 agent formerly employed by the Strategic Hazard Intervention Espionage Logistics Directorate or S.H.I.E.L.D. He is currently reporting an incident to the former director of S.H.I.E.L.D, Nick Fury.

" So... You tell me that this unidentified motherfucker crossed the country from Queens to San Francisco and was involved in an incident with Life Foundation? " Fury asked.

" It was spotted speeding atop buildings, and it caused minor damage to properties on its path. " Hans said. " The tango took approximately 12 hours of non-stop travel, it was fast and agile. Sir, we don't have data on this guy. "

" Assign a team, I want to know who this guy is and if... If its a threat, eliminate it. " Fury flatly said. " Also, what's the status of Coulson and his team? "

" Apparently there's been good progress in rebuilding and Director Coulson has been preparing to deal with the Inhumans. " Hans replied.

" Good. Remember I want results on my table ASAP, you are dismissed. " Fury said as he tapped on his table, he was staring at the blurry image of humanoid.
