The Establishment of a Powerhouse Kingdom

"… And so, I am going to step down as Queen of the Territory and leave it to you."

"Huh?"

Morning had started off relatively normal. Petra, Alicia's mother, had returned the night before and they had just gotten up to go eat some food.

Aura was the one who made and brought in the food. They were still deciding who would work in the castle as a maid or butler, apparently it was quite a sought-after job.

Aura had recently given birth as well to a baby Kitsune boy, which solved the question of what form it would come out as.

She had just given birth, so Alicia and Petra were a bit worried about her making and bringing the food and told her she should rest. But in the end, she insisted that she wanted to do it and neither of them could argue with her.

They were currently sat at a long table, with Alicia and Petra sat at the head of the table and Ignis, Vera and Aura eating their food a bit further down it. Terre had already set out to work with Noa at the Guild, but apparently already knew Mother was going to abdicate her throne to me.

"Yup, so you shall be the new Queen Alicia. After seeing all the work you and Terre have done, I feel like it would be wrong of me to just come in and say I am in charge again. Plus, it seems rather bothersome and complicated to rule over creatures and it would cut into my fighting and Alicia time so…" Although Petra meant that she was proud of the work that Alicia had done, her true reasoning began to seep out.

"But what if it cuts into my fighting time! This is not fair, I don't wanna be shackled down!" Alicia protested.

"Hehe Alicia, all the Kitsunes, Werewolves and evolved Ants know you a lot better than they know me. You brought them here, so I don't think I should be the one who leads them. You have to take responsibility my dear." Petra says with a loving smile.

"Urgh… I… Fine, you're right Mother." Alicia couldn't protest against what her Mother said and let her head drop.

What Petra said was correct, Alicia had brought all of them here so pushing responsibility for them onto her mother would be unfair. Petra had never ruled over subjects before and never had an interest in it, Alicia knew that it was only fair that she took on that role.

"Do not worry though, I shall be there to help you whenever you need me. I am really looking forward to seeing how you grow as a Queen, so try your best 'kay."

Hearing that her mother would be there to help her boosted Alicia's mood, in the back of her mind she was worried Petra might leave again if Alicia became Queen.

"Hehe alright, I'll do it! I shall become the Queen of a kingdom with the strongest people in this world! And then we can have lots of fights and fun!" Alicia shouted with great enthusiasm, impressing herself with another fantastic plan, in hers and a certain others opinion…

"Fufu marvellous idea Alicia." Says Petra, clapping happily at the thought of having more strong creatures around.

As they sat in there only little world of simple mindedness, Ignis, Vera and Aura sat and stared from a bit further down from the table.

"Terre said that they were like this when they are together, but you can really tell they are mother and daughter like this can't you." Ignis says, while still eating her bowl of soup with various meats in it.

"Indeed, it is rather heart warming to watch them like this though." (Aura)

"I know what you mean. Lady Petra seemed a bit intimidating and unapproachable at first because of how beautiful she is and that powerful aura she has." (Vera)

"Hehe you know that is how a lot of people see you as well Vera. In any case, unfortunately I will have to interrupt them, now that Alicia has been told what is going on." Aura says while standing up and approaching the two Dragons.

"My Ladies, now that you have confirmed everything would you mind taking a look at these…"

Aura then proceeded to pull a large stack of papers out of her yukata, that seemed way to big to even fit in her clothes, and put them on the table in front of Alicia.

"*Gulp* w-what is this?" Alicia looked at the documents with dread as she feared what was about to come. Aura meanwhile just kept a sweet smile on her face while looking down at her new Queen.

"This is a list of things we need to sort out now that you are Queen. Even now, this kingdom does not even have a real name due to Lady Petra not giving it one. Therefore, Terre and I came up with this list to iron a few of the details out. I do hope you shall try your best when completing this work, your Highness." Alicia looked up at Aura as she said these words and although she wore a beautiful smile, to Alicia this looked like the face of the devil.

Then Alicia remembered her mothers promise that she made not so long ago and decides to try and drag her into this…

"Ah! Mother, remember when you said you would help me… Mother?" Though as she turns to ask, all that is there is an empty seat, and a hastily scrabbled note that was barely readable.

{Just remembered I said I would help the hunters with there work, good luck! Love, Mother.}

"… no way… WHY DIDN'T YOU TAKE ME WITH YOU!" (Alicia)

It took a while for her to re-boot and realise that Petra had made a run for it to avoid the paperwork. Alicia then tries to make a run for the doorway that was still swinging from her mother's escape, only to find her collar stuck in a iron like grip.

"Hehe I am afraid I cannot let you leave Lady Alicia, Terre has asked me to make sure that you do this before you do anything else today. Even if it is the only thing you do today."

Desperately Alicia begins to look around the dining hall for help. Then she sees it. Vera had at some point sneaked away, but Ignis was still sat at the table happily enjoying her breakfast. Not knowing that she was about to be dragged into a rather tedious task.

"H-Hey Ignis…"

"Hmmm? What is it Alicia?... Where has everyone gone?" Ignis had been so lost in enjoying her food, that she had not realised Petra and Vera had ran away.

Before she realised what was going on, Alicia pounces at her to not give her a chance to escape when she realised what they were doing. She wraps her arms around her and her momentum from jumping knocks her off her chair.

"Kyaaa! Alicia what are you doing?!" Ignis says in a panic, realising that something was going on.

"Hehe sorry Ignis, I can't escape doing it now… But if I drag you along to do it with me too, it might go a little bit quicker." Alicia says with an apologetic smile across her face.

Ignis then looks up from Alicia and sees her mother approaching them, she looks at her hoping to find an answer to what is going on.

"What a great idea, I am sure Ignis would be a great help doing all this paperwork." Aura says, which makes Ignis realise why everyone has legged it. She has seen how much paperwork Aura and Terre do, so she assumed it would not be a small amount.

"… Damn it…" (Ignis)

And so, they got started on filling out various details for how the kingdom is going to be run. This included of course the name of the kingdom, positions to be held and many other important things.

At one-point Alicia tried to get out of doing some of the less important documents by using her position of Queen, but that failed. Aura said that if Alicia did not do it, then Aura would have to do more work. Which then stop her from spending any time with her newborn baby, as well as Ignis and Vera having to do her work for her. Basically, she was guilted into doing it and after that she stopped trying so hard to get out of it, she still complained a lot though.

Hours later.

"FINISHED! Hahaha oh it feels good to be past that!" Alicia shouts at the top of her lungs, still somehow with a bit of energy left.

Ignis had her head flat against the table, seemingly completely exhausted from the work.

"*sigh* How can you still have energy after that? You hate doing this sort of thing a lot more than me, so how can you be so active?" Ignis lifts her head and says rather enviously.

"Hehe are you kidding? I just kept thinking of the things I will do once all this is finished, that made me want to get this done as soon as possible." (Alicia)

It was true that between the complaining, Alicia had displayed a focus that Ignis had not seen very often when she was doing anything.

"It was indeed very impressive my Lady. Though it is evening already so there will be little that you can do for today." Vera says, who came in to replace Aura a few hours in, so she could go take care of her baby.

"That is fine, at least it is all done now, and I don't have to let it take up anymore of my days. Though I am still rather angry that you ran away Vera, punishment shall come later…" Alicia gave a big stretch then looks menacingly at Vera's big fluffy tail.

Vera instinctively grabs her tail to try and protect it from the fluffing that Alicia will no doubt attempt, though she had an indecisive look and a slight blush on her face.

"Serves you right Vera… Leaving me here like that, unbelievable." Ignis still seemed angry at the fact that Vera left her in the dinning hall, even though she knew what was about to happen. In response, Vera gives her an apologetic pat on the back.

"*yawn* it's fine, I forgive you. I am to tired to be too angry anyway." Ignis says, knowing that she would get her punishment from Alicia anyway.

After the piles of documents were sorted out, it was time to gather up everyone again to announce the positions in the kingdom that have been decided so far. As well as the new name of the kingdom and city.

They then sent a messenger, one of the ant minions, to tell Terre that they had finished and to get everyone to gather in the square again.

"Fufufu you did well Lady Alicia, these documents look filled out well enough. Good work to you three as well." Terre says while looking at the documents.

"I know right, I tried really hard on them so there was no way it could be badly done kukuku…" Replies Alicia in an arrogant tone, sitting in front of Terre's desk with her feet up on it.

Terre was genuinely impressed as well. She did not think that Alicia had the patience and attention to detail that would allow her to do this sort of work well. It turns out though that this Mother and Daughter pair could both do this sort of work if they tried hard enough. Terre had caught Petra and convinced her to do some work as well, again by guilt trip.

"I have told everyone to head to the square already. So you want to announce these changes to everyone directly?" Terre asks, trying to find out her reasons for doing so.

"Yupp, then everyone will know the great kingdom they belong too, as well as who the important people are and what their role is. They can then know who to go to for what and don't have to bother those who would not know." Alicia says explaining her decision.

Terre was impressed yet again. She was going to suggest directly announcing it to everyone to her, but she had already decided to do it herself and found the reasons why it is important to do so.

"Very well then, let us make our way to the square to meet with everyone." Terre said as she got up with a proud smile on her face.

They then all left the office and headed off to the central square.

Alicia tried to tell off her mother for ditching her back at the dinning hall. Though Petra ended up scratching and stroking her weak spots which instantly pacified her. The others tried to take note of the way she calmed Alicia, though none could do it quite like Petra could.

Eventually they arrived at the square and were told that everyone was gathered, so they could begin straight away.

First Petra addressed the audience to announce her abdication...

"Hello everyone! I'll get straight to the point, today I will be abdicating my throne to Alicia. Meaning that she will now be the Queen of this territory. As I said last night, I will not accept any betrayal of her trust and even though I am abdicating I will still be living with my daughter in the castle, so I shall be watching. In any case, make sure you all work hard for her 'kay."

What Petra said caused a lot of chatter around the square, though from what Alicia could make out there was no one who objected with the change. They seemed fairly happy in fact, showing how popular she was.

Petra then beckoned Alicia forward to begin speaking.

"So yeah, as Mother said I shall be the ruler of this territory from today onwards. Please help me as we make ourselves strong enough so that no threat can harm the children of our kingdom as they have tried before!"

The crowd give a large cheer as Alicia herself announces herself as the new Queen, which startles her a little bit.

"A-Anyway, first I shall be announcing a list of individuals and their positions in this kingdom. As you can all read now, make sure you remember their names and roles…" Alicia says as she walks over to a nearby wooden board and sticks the list of individuals and their positions, that was written on a large piece of bark, to it with a sword.

Alicia gave everyone chance to get close enough to have a look before continuing, again there was no objections to the roles given to people. Everyone knew the abilities of those on the list.

"Hehe, and now to reveal the new name of our city and kingdom!"

Everyone began to talk again in hushed, excited voices when they heard that the kingdom and city would be getting a proper name. Which made Alicia grin with anticipation.

"Hehe... Welcome everyone to the great city of Valen, the capital city of the Kingdom of Drakonia!"

From that moment, a new powerhouse kingdom was established in this world.
