Chapter 98 - Friendship and the offer

The lady in red soon became at ease talking with Aile. After asking him a few things and confirming Aile's personality, she said, "I will wait for you down here since we are a team now. Do you mind if I train Laila? I have gotten a cultivation method with a lot of difficulties once. But it did not suit me, in the end, which has put all my efforts into waste. However, Laila will be very compatible with it, in fact, she will be a perfect match for it. You already have the fate mark on me, with my promise to never hurt your people. So, there is no harm in it." Aile realized that this was one of the opportunities he saw for Laila when his eyes were activated. It seems that Laila will get her chance by following her.

"Let me ask you a few questions first. Can other people detect that Laila is special?"

She nodded immediately, "Of course her eyes are a dead giveaway. Not only her even her sister is special. Anyone with a little knowledge will know."

"What about people in here?" Aile talked about this world, he knew that she was talking about the people up there.

She thought about it and said, "I doubt people in here will know about them, but if another person from up there sees them, they will know."

"There are more people from up there?"

"Yeah, there are a few groups that have come down, they seem to be looking for people or souls or something?"

"They descended just for that?"

"Yeah, I was surprised too. But they are not too strong just some trash, used like dogs to sniff their targets. Nonetheless, it would not be good if they find Laila and her sister."

Laila finally interjected she had been holding back, "Wait so Leia is special and you can help me get strong even if I cannot see all the time?"

She looked at Laila and replied, "Yeah, she has a special-body and can intake two opposite kinds of energies. 1 in every 100 million people can do what she can. I can make you strong, this cultivation will allow you to fight without using your eyes, it is also a method used by a unique clan in the past."

Laila was tempted, and yet again she looked in Aile's direction.

The lady said, "It will be best if you let her come with me."

Aile sighed he did not want to stop Laila from growing stronger, and he did not want to stand in her way. Seeing her troubled eyes, he had to give in.

Aile looked at the lady and said, "If she goes with you? Can you protect her, and how do we meet again?"

"Did you forget that I have control over fate? I can protect her by creating a barrier for her, and I can already tell you that she will be back with you in 5 years at the capital." She said this while her hands had different coloured energies. She was predicting the future. This was an application of fate energy, but it was not something Aile could use at his current level.

"That is too long!"

"Do not worry, we will visit every year, but she will not remain next to you for five years."

"I am not 100 percent comfortable with this arrangement, I would like to add more conditions with the fate mark. After all, we just met. I cannot let Laila just leave. There are many loopholes with the first condition."

The lady with red mask nodded, "Go right ahead, it is not like I can reject her anyways or fight all of you."

Then Aile put the condition that she cannot directly or indirectly try to harm him, Laila, his business or anyone that is related to him. He also added that she should make sure Laila is not brainwashed, entrusted to anyone that could harm her even if the possibility was low. To not put her in a situation which could result in creating a rift between him and her. And to bring her back whenever possible.

She agreed and snorted, "I thought it was something else that you wanted. You really do care about her a lot." She then muttered under her breath, "Although I am glad you are like this."

Leia then came and said to Aile, "Can you let me go too, Laila will need my help, and I cannot leave her alone."

The lady with the red mask said, "I am sorry I cannot take you."

"Why?"

"It would be best if you stayed here."

Leia became dejected, not only because she could not go with Laila but also because she could not improve in cultivation. If she followed her, she hoped that she would also improve and not fall short of Laila in strength.

The lady with the masked said, "I will bring you a method to cultivate in here after 2 months. You will not fall short of Laila in strength."

"Really," Leia had a cheerful smile on the surface. Yet there was a hidden sense of melancholy in her heart, as she was separating from her sister.

The lady in the red mask nodded and told her, "Hehe, I am sure one day, you will be grateful that you stayed."

Then Aile tried to get some more information about fate, the upper realms and any other information about this world. He got a little bit of information about everything.

She then told Aile if she can stay the night here so she can recover and leave tomorrow with Laila. Aile, of course, agreed. This was going to be the last night he can spend with Laila for a while, so he did not spend his time training. He first picked up Emily, who was now placed on a sofa and carried her to her room. She was ok, just exhausted from using her technique.

He then talked with Sophie and everyone else just to calm them down. Everyone left except Diana. Leia left with Laila while holding her hand and giving everyone a look to back away. They happily conversed while holding their emotions down. This was going to be the first time they separate, suddenly there was a lot of topics they had to talk about.

Laila was just as reluctant to leave, but she did not want to show it on her face. She was mature enough to know that only when she is powerful, can she stay with Aile and Leia peacefully. At the very least, she did not want to be a hindrance to them.

Once everyone was gone from the room, Diana came close to Aile and hugged him while saying with tears in her eyes, "I am glad you are ok."

Aile held her back too and said, "You and Emily scared me more, do not risk your life like that. I do not want to lose you."

Diana held him like this for a long time. Then she talked to him about how it was for the best to let Danny go and find his path.

She had seen him once in the three years, and he was much happier, and this had made Diana content. Now she was giving Aile support to let him know that it will be for Laila's best interest to go and improve.

She had also seen Ellie once who came for a short visit to make sure Diana was ok after the magistrate building was destroyed. Diana also told her to follow Aile's plan. To which she was reluctant at first, but later agreed as it would give her freedom.

She agreed to go along with it only if she felt danger or an uncomfortable situation. Ellie did not stay as she wanted to learn a bit more from the mercenary union, and she did not want to be reliant on Diana.

Diana did not stop her this time, she knew that it was for her best if she continues on, now that, she threaded the path halfway. However, she had given her many talismans and protective measures.

After assuring Aile that it was for best to let Laila improve, Diana told him to go and spend the rest of the time with her. Aile was planning just that. He had given Laila and Leia plenty of time to spend alone, now he and the others will join them. After all, over the years, everyone got really close to Laila and Leia.

After talking with Laila for a bit, she asked if Aile can roast the meat for her like when they ate during their return trip from Cape Tie. Aile, of course, agreed. He bought a recently killed beast from the market along with the herbs that he needed to make the seasoning. As the night's darkness drew near, he started a small fire. A small carpet was brought down, and everyone huddled and sat on it. Aile was responsible for cooking the meat, and he joined in the conversation from time to time when he heard an interesting topic.

Emily had healed and had joined the dinner. Even though she was not 100 percent, she could not miss her student's departure. She had gotten close to the two sisters over the past 3 years.
