Magnus lives a relatively normal life, or at least it looks like he does. He has average grades, a handful of friends, moderate wealth, and a distant family. But behind that façade is apathy. Apathy towards his friends, his family, the entire world. Or, almost the entire world. The one thing that Magnus cares about, is books. No matter what kind, Magnus would descend upon it like a swarm of locusts. From picture books to grand epics, text books to treatises, no book could escape his grasp. He is content with this life, but something would always nag at the back of his mind, the want for something more.
When Magnus is walking through the forest near his house to find a nice spot to read his latest book, he stumbles upon what looks to be an ancient shrine. Taking it as a nice spot he walks inside, only to hear a disembodied voice.
“Welcome child, as you have stumbled upon my place of rest and awakened me from my slumber, I shall bestow upon you a gift. What is it you desire? Power?”
“No”
“Wealth?”
“No”
“Pleasure?”
“No”
“Well what do you want then?”
“...To read.”

Magnus, a teen with interest in nothing but books(to a ridiculous degree), finds himself in another world with a system that lets him claim power from the books he reads
Obligatory author review, I hope you enjoy my novel:) ......................................................................................
Besides the rare spelling or grammar mistakes, this is an absolutely amazing book, I have never felt so excited for new chapters to be released as I am now after getting caught up
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . the story develops very quickly, so the character development is weak. grammar and logic errors are also high . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
I really like this book the concept of his ability is really nice I wish that there were more stories with similar abilities I also like how apathetic the character is

Many new books on this site have the same problems with boring plot, repetitiveness, or have bad grammar. This is a gem in the midst of trash. Recvokend for those who like magic and quick progression
Good evening auther, I wanted to say that your novel is great and I want to read more of this, secondly...DON'T YOU FUCKING DARE DROP THIS NOVEL, IF YOU DO, I WILL LITERALLY EAT YOU TOASTER IN THE SHOWER, yeah so please don't drop.
I must say I was definitely surprised when I saw this book in new. Its very rare to get such a good book here. The idea is pretty original. The character is solid the story is definitely done very good and has some thought put into. The character is pretty overpowered but, it's done well and doesn't take away from the experience. The battle scenes are lengthy and good. And it's well written. As our mc would say up to the next book to read! Written when there were only 18 chapters
A pretty good book
I love this novel. Except more chapters......................................................................................................
