Vaslavis Clan: The Past (9)

They've been running ceaselessly for the longest time. 

The children were all heaving while crying. The elderlies exercised their limits to refrain from being a burden. Only two of the women were able to join the escape, the rest having chosen to hold the enemy forces back. 

All of a sudden, one of the children tripped. Instead of getting back up, the boy started wailing while flailing their hands about. Because of that, the other children stopped in their tracks and joined the boy in his tantrums. 

"Children! Our lives are in danger! Please cooperate, please! We need to get away as far as possible!" Grandfather Ahmu said, trying to reign in his calm. 

Despite his attempt, the old man's voice trembled. He was at a loss on what to do, his fear rising as the seconds passed. 

"I want my mommy! I want to see my mommy! Why did we leave her there?! There are scary people there?!" The boy screamed as he repeatedly stomped his feet on the dirt.
