Bocahr Settlement: The Group (5)

Zekhyr was saying no lies.

Being a beast itself was painful.

From the moment that one was born, they would be subjected to the hardships of having two identities. One of them was their tame side, the other was their beast self.

The tame side was responsible for replicating the intelligence and self-control of humans. The beast self was responsible for retaining their animalistic characteristics befitting to their species.

Their beast self would continuously attack their tame side. It was an incessant cycle of clashing, windows of peace, and false agreements. There would even be a time when their beast self would prevail, erasing the existence of the tame side.

That was how a berserk would come into being.

Those who let go if their sanity would forever be in a state of madness. The sensation that a beast would feel as they were about to become a berserk was one of the most painful feelings known to their kind.
