Gabriel went home that same night and sat in his balcony smoking, staring at the dark sky. His heart felt restless and empty.
After moving to this city he had gone out countless times: to bars, clubs, and parties sampling the best women New York had to offer. Each and everyone of them falling head over heels for him, going out of their way to get his attention, but never once had his heart thump wildly like it did tonight.
It was absurd, he spent less than an hour with the woman not even sharing more than one sentence with her and his heart beat faster than ever. He was perplexed. It was an odd feeling but he didn't dislike it. As far as he knew he had never felt these fluctuations in his heart before. It only further increased his desire of being near her.
He gazed up at the black sky watching the way the stars shined so brightly. His cigarette burned as he was lost in thought. The ashes scattered all over the ground and onto his leather shoes but the man didn't notice as his mind was elsewhere.
A certain ice cold beauty preoccupied his mind all night making him giddy and nervous like a schoolgirl. His lips curled and a charming soft chuckle escaped his full lips. He shook his head at his absurd thoughts and feelings.
Loud knocking at his front door jolted him out of his thoughts. His eyes narrowed dangerously. Who could be knocking so loudly this late at night?
Standing up he headed to the front door stopping to retrieve his gun and clicking the safety off. His leather shoes leaving imprints on his plush carpet. His sharp jaw was tense and his hand held the gun ready to fire as he approached the door. His dark eyes flashed with a cold glint.
The knocking only continued, followed by low cursing. The guest was extremely rude, only making Gabriel much more cautious and tense.
He reached the door and looked through the peephole to see a black figure with its face covered by a black mask and in black attire. He frowned, clicking the safety back on and slipping it under his shirt tucking it into his pants and opened the door.
The figure walked in glancing at Gabriel with its obscured eyes directly heading towards the sofa in the living room. Hands reached up and removed the black mask to reveal a woman with light green eyes and a pixie haircut.
"Long time no see Gabe." She said, her voice was without feeling: cold.
"What are you doing here?" Gabriel said his face twisting in displeasure.
"It's been so long yet this is how you treat me?" The woman said, her green eyes stared at him.
Gabriel didn't reply, only stood there looking down at her, his lips set in a thin line, his arms crossed over his chest. The disgust and displeasure apparent in his dark eyes.
"It's been months of playing around outside. It's time to reign in my fiancé." The woman continued, unaffected by his demeanor. She leaned back comfortably crossing her legs. Her lanky figure dressed in black contrasting against the light beige sofa.
"Why didn't you come see me since you've been in New York?" Her green eyes glared at him in accusation.
Gabriel only clenched his jaw taking a seat across from her. The muscles in his robust arms flexed,he inhaled sharply. He wanted never to see this crazy woman again.
"Why are you here Qingsi?" His tone dangerous.
"I'm here to see you Gabe. Am I not allowed? You are my fiancé after all." The woman laughed, as she checked her nails. Her long manicured nails were painted purple.
"We are no longer engaged Qingsi." Gabriel said.
"You are still my fiancé. I never agreed to break off our engagement." Qingsi said her face twisted into a malevolent expression. She leaned forward reaching out to touch his leg.
"Do you really think that because I granted your little requests throughout our engagement you are qualified to speak to me like this? You think too highly of yourself Qingsi. Must you force me to use harsher means to make it clear to you?" He threatened lightly. Grabbing her wandering hand and flinging it off his body. His eyes were cold, his voice was low and full of warning.
"As long as I love you whether you want me or not is not my concern. You will be my husband eventually." She declared arrogantly.
Gabriel felt the vein in his head pop. Out of all the women he had dealt with she was the most deranged and arrogant one of them all. She was sweet and innocent when they met, her green eyes and porcelain doll-like face drew his attention. He courted her for months only to find out after that she had lost her damn mind! The innocent and pure demeanor was just a facade. She was extremely arrogant, childish, overly jealous and spoiled. Everything about her personality turned his heart cold, after her image shattered it was already too late, he had asked her to marry him never knowing the kind of disaster he was getting himself into. He immediately called it off and cut her off from his life.
However, she tagged along after him for months pestering him daily up until the point that he moved cities disappearing from her world. Only to find that she had him tailed by a P.I and found out he was in NYC.
He narrowed his Phoenix like eyes and stood up. Taking a step forward with his long legs he grabbed her by the elbow and dragged her up.
"I will make this clear one last time. Stay away from me, we have nothing to do with each other anymore. I am not nor will I ever be your husband. Now get out. Don't ever let me catch you following me again. Don't test my patience Qingsi." After he finished he dragged her to the door and threw her out slamming the door afterwards.
Qingsi's eyes reddened and she clenched her hands, her fingernails digging into her palm. She was extremely angry and humiliated. He really dared to drag her out! This was her house too, he was her fiancé! She kicked and banged on the door in a crazy manner, yelling for him to let her in. Repeating over and over again that he couldn't treat her like this.
Her jealousy was gnawing at her all night, she had secretly followed him to Velvet and watched as he laughed and talked with those beautiful women. Making her gnash her teeth in anger and jealousy, adding these women to her hit list. She must get rid of them, they didn't deserve to be near her soon-to-be husband. Such dirty sluts seducing someone's fiancé! She'd teach them a lesson very soon.
After another round of banging on the door she left with a wretched look on her face. Her haywire brain began to make preparations to deal with those sluts from the lounge.
