Nigel's Judgement

'Puppets with no strings', these are the words best suited for those tempted and controlled by destiny. It is easy to lose sight of the real if one indulges themselves too much. However, there comes a time in which even the cage of God could not contain humans. Men fear strength but conquerers fear mediocrity.

*The man reawakens

"My forsaken champion of light, thou has stained thy hands with the shade of blood. Outcasted yet accepted" Nigel's voice echoed.

His mind in a daze when his eyes reopened. The coarse texture of sand spread over his laid body. Arms and legs restricted, the man finds himself on a sand dune with three of his captors.

The desert terrain is home to cacti and dead bushes. The demanding state of the biome meant only the worthy can even hope to enter or exit alive. Far in the distance, tumbleweeds roll, and taking shelter behind the dead plants was an inferior mob called the 'Sand Bunny'.

Serving as an unforgiving penalty, these sand bunnies move in packs and scavenge those who have fallen to the elements. Whether dead or alive, awake or not, once a single bunny marks you with a bite, the scent of blood will surely lure others.

"You both take the first wink. Stay far from the guy. He did go against the Master. If sparred, means his potential and audacity might be great enough to overthrow our subjugation." the first Pillager spoke.

Pillagers are villagers augmented by the shadowy figure with glowing eyes. Compared to villagers from the East, they possess heightened arcane knowledge. A foe to all mob kind, their master seeks total annihilation of this world, an armageddon bound in an ethereal form.

The prisoner feints sleep until the time to pounce had come. In spite of the shackles placed on his arms, he had the upper hand for he finds himself as a wolf in sheep's clothing.

Immediately after seeing an opening, the rope tying his limbs instantly snapped from a sudden explosive pressure. Using the confusion, the man dashed towards the pillagers that are unarmed and grabbed their axes to knock each one unconscious.

One, Two, Three, each arrow flew quickly from a crossbow. The supposed guard on watch struggled to strike the incoming forsaken. The aura emitted from this particular player was stronger than the others he had ever face. Twasn't bloodlust that filled the area but apex prowess being compressed into his notions.

The predator now stood face to face with the remaining pillager. At the same time, an overwhelming force of intimidation shrouded the forsaken player and poured into the pillager's view. Determined to come out victorious, he chanted a spell that would render himself unseen to the naked eye.

The winds generated from the spell flung sand in all directions serving as a smokescreen for its user.

Moments after the counter, the desert turned dead silent. The feeling of a wild west shootout began. The darkness of night, the stillness of white in the sky, and the stakes are high. One false move from either side could lead to instant death.

The pillager only needed to reload his crossbow and fire it at the unsuspecting player but had to do so in complete silence. After witnessing the forsaken's velocity, he knew only a single chance was allowed.

As for the player, he must drown out all distractions and focus on the slight changes happening around him.

*Drip drip

Blood droplets fell on the desert floor, and both fighters were quickly entrapped in a ritual circle formed from sand bunnies. The barrier closed in slowly as each one drew heavier and heavier breaths. In addition to a strong sense of smell, sand bunnies were able to pinpoint a prey's location using the disharmony in the wind.

We are back at the beginning of the duel. One, two, three, the inferior beings flee. An arrow whisked by and barely scathed the forsaken player. To his horror, the man slowly turned his back, cold eyes locked onto the pillager. It was over, there was no time to load another. In an instant, his neck was sliced all the way through.

Experience leaked out and flowed into the victor of this battle. An unworldly sensation seeped in and a dream began.

A map of Minecraft constructed itself. Over time, this desert's geology now imprinted inside the man's head. A noticeable feature was an arrow that dragged from the middle Westside all the way to the middle Eastside, what does this signify? The next course of action was to locate the pillager's base of operations and set up defenses.

These were the events that happened once Fitch Fossboros entered the world a hero but chose to kill Julian Nigel.

The journey was long and hard, walking through coarse sand barefoot along with specks of sand flying into his face. Each of his survival needs depleting as he traveled. Food, water, sleep, these crude words floated in his mind until in front of him revealed a tall unoccupied watchtower.

The outpost stood three-stories in height and housed primitive weapons that each of the pillagers used.

"I have to scout around the place and find a suitable hiding spot if that creature ever finds out three of its henchmen stopped attending the meeting," Fitch spoke to himself.

Each window covered by planks and door sealed shut with nailed wood, he finds himself finally at ease. At the base of the outpost and its center was a trap door leading downstairs to a cellar for storage. Inside of it, Fitch found large amounts of stored water and shelved corpses of sand bunnies. He assumed this was where they kept all of their food.

A runic symbol on the trap door lit up and words of enchantment glowed mid-air without a canvas. Even though it was not something of his world, Fitch read and understood each and every letter.

"It's like a fridge huh?"

The memories of the dead pillagers had already chiseled themselves into his own.

When his hunger and thirst were sated, the now exhausted Fitch seeks sleep.

"I wonder how the captain is dealing with the nut job"
