VI. Out

After the incident of secretary Lynne falling asleep in CEO Lu's office. Lynne was chased out of the office and was not allowed to enter unless CEO Lu called her in. This apply not only secretary Lynne but also applies to all the employees.

CEO Lu is in a conference call while secretary Lynne is in a meeting. Both of them are busy because of an upcoming occasion. Lynne already knew that they are gonna be busy but she still can't help to feel overwhelmed.

Meetings are coming from all corners, making them all tired and exhausted.

They are preparing for the 10th year anniversary of Lu Corporation. Secretary Lynne can't help to be at awe in his achievements.

"At such a young age, he managed to pull his own company ---Boss is truly amazing."

Time flew by so fast that it was already dark before they knew it. She stretched her arms and cracked her hands. Her eyes fall to the clock in her desk. It's already past 7 o'clock and CEO Lu is still in his office.

Most of the employees have gone home. CEO Lu and secretary Lynne are the only left in the floor. Secretary Lynne raised her hands up, reaching up to the ceiling to stretch her arms.

Secretary Lynne was caught in a dilemma, whether to knock or not. She look at the office door of CEO Lu. She ordered a take out from restaurant and already prepared a hot tea for CEO Lu.

The tea is getting cold and she's pacing back and fort in of CEO Lu's office door. The sound of the telephone startled secretary Lynne.

*ring *ring

She immediately went to her desk to see which phone is ringing. Her face brighten when she saw the phone ringing is from CEO Lu office.

"Do you need anything?" CEO Lu said. He noticed Lynne pacing in his door that's why he called her.

"Uhm. May I come in?" Secretary Lynne asked with finger crossed. There was a defeating silence in the call. Secretary Lynne look at the phone and glad that the call is still connected. She waited a few seconds, before hearing CEO Lu's voice.

"Come in" and the line went off.

After knocking a few times, Secretary Lynne entered that room, he saw CEO Lu in his desk with his eyes fixed on the computer screen.

She put down the tray on the table and bring the cup to CEO Lu's desk.

"Drink this first"

CEO Lu glance at the cup and without looking CEO Lu picked up the cup and finished it all. Secretary Lynne look satisfied, looking at the empty cup.

"I ordered a take out - - - Chinese food. You already skipped your lunch and I won't take 'no"

CEO Lu stopped typing and get up on his feet and walked to the table where Lynne put the tray.

CEO Lu removed his glasses and pinched the bridge of his nose.

Seeing how tired CEO Lu, a glint of concern flashed through Lynne's eyes.

Secretary Lynne take a seat across him and passed him the chop sticks which CEO Lu took and passed a bowl of rice.

The food is out of the carton and transferred into plates. Secretary Lynne put a spring roll in his bowl.

She smiled when CEO Lu looked at her.

"Dig in. " She said smiling. Secretary Lynne can't help to be amazed by the person infront of her.

It's nothing new, eating together with secretary Lynne. Alexander always find his appetite when he is eating with Lynne.

Alexander looked at the spring roll that Lynne have put in his bowl.

"Dig in" Secretary Lynne said smiling. Alexander gladly took a bite.

He nodded as he took a bite of the springroll. The springroll taste good. He never liked take-outs and fast food chains, saying that it's not healthy.

But ever since Lynne worked for him, he already had taste of different take-outs.

Lynne put a piece of sweet and sour meat in cCEO Lu's plate and CEO Lu gladly stuff himself.

"Heh. Now, who said that they don't like, take-outs."

Lynne said between the bites of spring roll. Alexander almost spat out the spring roll, as he heard secretary Lynne's remark.

CEO Lu cough a bit and Lynne passed him a glass of water that he gulped down.

Alexander shoot daggers at Lynne. She just shrugged it off. Him shooting daggers does not really affect Lynne at all. He pointed his chopstick to Lynne and asked.

"You were never scared of me, do you?"

Lynne just nodded while stuffing some pork dumpling in her mouth.

"Why?" CEO Lu asked curiously. This has been eating him alive for years. He really want to know, why it seems like whatever he do. Secretary Lynne does not fear him.

Lynne looked at him, titled her head and answered.

"You are not scary, at all."

It's past 11 o'clock pm, when Lynne and CEO Lu went home.

CEO Lu can't help but to think about Lynne's words about him.

"She don't fear me because I wasn't scary at all?"

CEO Lu smirked at the thought. Everyone else is scared and fear him and now he learned something 'new' about her secretary.

"So, she doesn't fear me at all. I hope she can still say that when she learned the other side of me."

Days turned weeks and weeks turned months.

Today, they're celebrating the 10th year anniversary of Lu Corporation in the industry. It's been a decade since Alexander founded his company. There is a sense of achievement that you can see in Alexander's eyes.

This is the day that they've been waiting for. They are more than prepared and nothing should go wrong in today's event.

There is no room for error.

The venue for this celebration will take place in a cruise. It's an evening event, that requires a casual attire with theme of 'silver'.

The invitation was already sent out a month before. It's already 4 in the afternoon and the event will start at 6 in the evening.

Secretary Lynne made sure that there's nothing left unchecked from the foods and drinks. Employees and staffs, lights and sounds and even the fireworks that will be used at the end of the celebration.

The event started and the cruise already sailed off. You can see the cruise from the shore because of its bright lights as of its dancing in the night.

"We gathered in this evening as we celebrate the 10th year anniversary of Lu Corporation. Let's welcome the man behind this success. CEO Alexander Lu. Let's give him around of applause."

*clap *clap *clap

Alexander is greeted with thunderous applause. He walked to the stage looking elegant.

Alexander wore custom-made classically simple silver grey with black brim walking along him was Lynne with her hair down, wearing black halter neck sleeveless with front slit that coming up to her right thigh. It's a maxi dress with a flowy hem.

In this occasion, Lynne wore a shining glittering 4 inches silver ankle strap stilleto heels.

CEO Lu and Lynne walked side by side, her hand is hooked at CEO Lu's arm making them look like a stunning royal couple.

The young and old bachelors can't take their eyes off to Lynne and that includes CEO Lu.

CEO Lu reached the center stage and the emcee passed him the microphone.

"Good evening. I am Alexander D. Lu, CEO of Lu Corporation, thank you for celebrating with us."

He was answered by a thunderous claps. After Alexander said a few words, he went down to the stage and thanked the visitors who attended tonight's celebration and asked them to enjoy the rest of the night.

CEO Lu went to personally thank some individuals who attended the party, includes the CEO of other companies and building rapport to others for future business deals.

Secretary Lynne excused herself to greet some guest and asked if they're having a good time.

Coming to her east is the CEO of SRC Firm. Guillermo Halston, 36 years old with 4 divorces. He passed a glass of champagne to Lynne.

Which she received politely with a sly smile.

''I wish to have someone like you in my company. You look great, Secretary Lynne. I wonder if you would like to work for me? I can give you anything. " He said those words while looking at the exposed leg of secretary Lynne.

Lynne throw her hair back and look at the man in front of him.

"You praise me enough, Mr. Halston, I'm afraid I have to decline. Please enjoy the rest of the night. Excuse me."

Lynne said slightly bowing to Mr. Halston before leaving and send the champagne back server.

She was surrounded, one after another.

Secretary Lynne smile and said, "I'm sorry, gentlemen, but I don't intend to leave CEO Lu's side." after her successfull escape. She went outside to get some fresh air.

She stayed outside for a moment when she felt, that someone was watching her. Lynne did not make it obvious but she slightly turn to side, surprised to see that it was CEO Lu.

"CEO Lu, what are you doing here?"

"Having a breath of fresh air."

The cold breeze, make Lynne's hair to dance with the wind. Alexander watch secretary Lynne in the corner of his eyes.

Lynne close her eyes as the night breeze kissed her skin and she faintly hears the party sound.

She felt warm in her shoulders, opening her eyes she saw Alexander's jacket around her shoulders.

"Don't stay here to long."

Lynne watch Alexander's back as he walks away from her. She take jacket off her shoulders and wear it properly. She's afraid that the wind will blew the jacket away.

She could smell a faint scent of peppermint coming off the jacket, it was big for her but she felt comfortable and warm.

She admire the view of she's seeing, the cruise destination is point to point.

She would loved to stay out of the party to enjoy the night breeze but she can't let his boss all alone in the wolf's den.

When suddenly a loud explosion was heard.
