VII. Explosion

Suddenly a loud sound is heard. The loud sound came from the lower deck.

The sound send the guests in panic. The emcee and staffs assured the guests that there is nothing to be worried about, and that everything is under control but someone coming from the lower deck, sent the whole guest in panic.

"Run, run. There's a fire"

"FIREEEEEE!"

"AHHHH!"

The fire started and it had become visible to Lynne and  guest that soon switch on survival mode. Although the staffs are prepared for such disaster, the guests are not.

Secretary Lynne is being drag away from fire by Mary, Linda and Taylor. In a second the fire becomes twice as big.

All of the sudden the party turn into disaster and chaos. Assessing the situation is the first thing that secretary Lynne did, was to placate the guests and ensure them that it's gonna be alright and there's nothing to be afraid of.

She checked the well beings of the guests before sending them back to the shore. The life boat in the cruise is enough for all the people.

One after another.

Lynne is scanning all the people present, she's anxious and scared. Her eyes couldn't find the person she's looking for.

"Where is CEO Lu?" Lynne asked.

Linda and Mary turn there heads to look for CEO Lu when Taylor remember.

"I saw CEO Lu with Director Park of ShinZuang International. I think they went to a private meeting, into one of the rooms."

Lynne run without thinking, not minding the people who are calling her to go back.

*ring *ring*ring

The fire alarm rang loudly, creating that high pitch bell sound as the fire started to engulfed half of the cruise.

People are running into the polar opposite of the fire, while there is one person who did not.

She kept on calling his name, hoping to get a response out of him.

"CEO Lu! CEO Lu! CEO Lu! "

She threw her heels away and now she walk and run barefoot. She kept on reminding herself to be calm and compose while running into the fire. She knew that being agitated will not help her in the current situation.

Pitch black smoke  are coming out of every room making it difficult to see the way and breath. Her face is covered with damped towel, covering his mouth and nose. She spotted a figure in the dark. She looked closely, she squinted her eyes to see that it's just a staff.

But something is suspicious.

The staff run away when he noticed Lynne. It was a man in a server uniform. The man run as fast as he could and Lynne catch up with him.

The man suddenly stop running, almost send Lynne bumping to his back. Secretary Lynne already anticipated that he would suddenly stop and turn back throwing a punch.

Secretary Lynne dodged the punch and kicked him to the stomach. The man groaned.

Lynne looked at the man questioning.

She familiarize herself to all the staff and guest present tonight.

"Who are you?"

She looked at the name plate in his chest and it's says, 'Sharon'.

"It's says Sharon but YOU'RE not Sharon, are you?"

The man also looked at the name plate at smirked. Lynne's eyes squinted when she noticed the man has a gun in his waist.

The man throw another punch at Lynne. Confused and surprised are written on to the man's face. The woman suddenly vanished into thin air and everything went black.

Secretary Lynne watch him fall down, she picked it up the gun and checked the magazine. The bullets are just enough for four people.

It feels like she's back to her old days, and she did not have a regular training making her to become a bit rust. She went back running, and walking, and running again when she saw some people who is still not evacuated.

"Please, immediately evacuate yourselves."

Secretary Lynne is scrutinizing their actions and looks. They are all catching their breath and have burns and bruises in their arms.

It's five people, all in all, a woman and four men. They all look to each other and nodded, and then a sudden kick landed on the man shoulders, that sent him flying a few meters, hitting a wall that sending him unconscious.

"I changed my mind, you guys are not going anywhere. "

They are left aghast and shocked was written in their face by the sudden attack.

Even though they are dressed as a buffet server, Lynne is sure that they are not one of her people. Before they could recover from shock, the only woman in the group is also being  knocked out.

The other three launched at Lynne. Both of them exchanged blows, but none have managed to touch Lynne. Using the gun in her hand, she knocked them of one by one.

She pulled them away from the fire and that's when she noticed the tattoo in their wrists.

Lynne lifted up the sleeve of the man, and revealed a tattoo. In the man's forearm a card of spade was tattooed. The spade was inked at the center, enclosed in a rectangle shape with small spade on top side and down downside of the card.



Her face was half covered, with a towel that covers her mouth and nose but you can see the bewilderment in her eyes. Lynne's eyes turn dark and cold. She need to get CEO Lu out of here as fast as she could.

She coughs, everynow and then after catching her breath.

"CEO LU! Alexander LU! ALEXANDER LU!"

She screamed his name out of her lungs. Making her to inhale some of the smoke resulting to rough coughing.

There's sharp pain in her chest as she clutches it with her hand and the burning feeling in her throat.

Hearing a faint of footsteps coming to her direction, without hesitation, she hold the gun firmly. Contemplating whether the person walking to her direction is a friend or foe. Assuming for a fight.  She's readily herself to pounce on the enemy that walking to her direction.

A silhouette of man, came out of the smoke, with instinct she launch a kick aiming for his head, even though caught by surprised the man managed to dodge.

She hissed out of irritation. This person seems different from the people she encountered earlier.

'Oh, boy, I really need to get myself fit.'She said. She begins to regret that years she's been slacking off.

She pounced on to the man, hoping she could managed to land a punch and to her dismay the man still manage to dogde all her attacks.

'This is bad, I don't have time for this.'

The fire is getting out of hand and the heat and smoke makes it more difficult to the both of them.

The man was already breathing heavily, while assessing the person who attacked him.

'Interesting'

The man managed to find humor in his situation, elated with his new found opponent. Suddenly, he felt a pang of pain. He hissed out pain, finding his left leg has been shot.

'Sh*t'

He heard the gun cocking sound and thought that this might be his end. His eyes are going heavy and on top of that he couldn't clearly see the person in front of him because of the smoke and also the person keeps maintaing a good distance to the both of them.

Facing death, an image flash through his mind. 'Atleast I get to die as she was.'

A strong wind, blew, making the smoke dispersed to the other side. Once the smoke have clearly disperse.

The sight bring him agape.

'It's a woman?'

When the smoke disappeared. She stood still in shock but quickly recover from the surprise. She saw CEO Lu lying in the floor.

The wind is coming from the helicopter's propeller and a rope ladder dropped down along with a few men in suits.

Alertness kicked at her, she ran towards where CEO Lu is laying and shakes him lightly. She heard him groan and that's enough for her.

"Make it look like they died in fire."

The man said almost whisperering before leaving. She looked at CEO Lu, seeing that he was hardly breathing.

'This is not good.'

She looked at the men in front of her, she smiled. That smile sent chills to the men. Contemplating to fight or flight.

"Leave us, alone." She said warning them but the men ignored her and lunged at them.

In a blink of an eye, all of them are in the floor, lifeless.

She threw the bulletless gun to the waters and check CEO Lu's pulse.

She heard a distinctive sound, coming through his pocket. Searching for the sound, she found a handphone. She answered the phone immediately.

"Brother, come to the - - - " Puzzled, she looked at the phone, dumbfounded.

'Dead. The phone is dead. In the most crucial moment, the phone died.'

She immediately throw his arm onto her shoulders and decided to carry him or atleast possible, she's dragging him. It was heavy and feels like carrying a ton of bricks

'Heavy.' She mumbled to herself. The call, was telling, to go somewhere the ship.

'Think. The fire started at the lower deck and the explosion earlier came for the Stern, the choices where either port or starboard.'

Thinking hard.

'It must be there.'

CEO Lu is heavy. Making it difficult to Lynne to balance his weight to hers. Lynne felt relieved when she arrived at the right place. She can see. Chandler waving at them.Men coming from Chandlers yatch, carry CEO Lu.

She's no longer distressed and anxious. She felt relieved. Lynne felt her eyelids become heavy.

Chandler cursed when he saw Lynne carrying Alexander in her back. He send his men to get his brother out of Lynne's back.

He felt relief when he saw his brother together with Lynne. When his men have put his brother on the yatch, they heard a loud thud and the next thing Chandler knew was,

Lynne have fallen to the ground. He jump out of the yacht to see that Lynne have lost consciousness.

Chandler cursed in every language that he know and carry Lynne to the yacht.

The yacht dissappear in the dark of night, as if it was never there.

In the shadows, a person was hiding its dissatisfaction on what happen tonight.

"You've got lucky, Alexander. Let's see how long your luck will last."
