Chapter 3

He took the ship down to the settlement. "Close your eyes if you don't want to get sick." he warned, before going through the wards, directly above the hospital. Bra'tac lost some colour. Apparently he hadn't heeded the warning.

"Can we open them?" Daniel asked.

"Yup." Harry said. He couldn't wait to see their reaction.

As they came down for a landing, the SG-1 team were all looking on in shock at what was happening in front of their eyes. There were buildings and people walking down a long, winding road. Children playing in the same streets, which was fine, since everything in the place apparently flew, including some normal looking cars.

There were also what looked like flying carpets and a tram, which floated slowly through town, dropping down to drop people off and pick them up. There were flying brooms, too. That was a dead give-away. There were parks, with perfectly manicured lawns, and trees. There was even a couple enjoying a picnic, while a dog ran around chasing a squirrel or two.

"Welcome to Harmony." Harry said proudly.

"This is impossible." Samantha Carter said, looking up and seeing a clear, blue sky. "Mars couldn't support life. You'd need… you'd need…" she seemed stumped.

Daniel had an idea though. "You'd need magic." he said.

"Give the man a prize." Harry said, as he set them down on the Hospital roof. Since everyone had flying vehicles, the roof was usually the reception area. With Harry's infamous Flying saucer landing, though, there was an entire staff already gathered when the hatch opened and someone rushed inside. "Hey Pansy." Harry greeted.

"Injured?" she asked, narrowing in on the woman with the fevered looking child in her arms. "Let me look at him."

"You're no more than a child." the woman said, hugging her child away from the girl.

"She is Harry's betrothed, Pansy." Teal'c said. "She is a mighty healer. I have seen her skill myself."

"Thank you, Teal'c." Pansy said. "Now, give him to me or I can carry you both." she threatened the woman.

"He is Jaffa." Harry said. "Like his father. He doesn't have a symbiote yet."

"No immune system, then." Pansy said in understanding. She'd been following what was going on after all. "I can work with this, if I have another example."

"I will accompany you." Teal'c said instantly. The Jaffa had a pouch in their stomachs, where their larval symbiotes were deposited. There they would stay and live symbiotically, protecting the Jaffa and both providing intelligent healing and extended life.

"Good." Pansy said, as she levitated both the mother and child, since the woman had yet to let go of her son. They were soon out of the ship.

"Magic?" Carter asked.

"Yup." Harry said.

"Like Abra-" she started.

"Don't insult me?!" Harry asked, having silenced her. "I'm not some sort of stage act." Carter tried to speak, but no words were coming out of her mouth. "Let's go get an ice-cream." Harry said as he led them from the saucer. When everyone was out, he shrunk the ship and placed it in his Comm-storage.

"You can just stick it in your communicator?" Jack asked. He really needed to get one of those.

"Of course." Harry said, as he levitated all of them, along with Bra'tac into the air and to the nearest park. "I don't need it to fly, and I like taking a walk sometimes, to clear my mind."

"So when you said there were more of you on Earth, you meant magical humans?" Jack asked. That made more sense. "So you're actually human as well, not some sort of alien, mixed in with the masses?"

"Basically." Harry said. "We have lived in secret since the witch-trials in the sixteenth century."

"Those were real witches then?" Daniel asked.

"A few." Harry allowed. "Most were just women who had more intelligence than men liked to admit. No woman could be as smart as or smarter than a man after all. Such a thing is ludicrous." he scoffed sarcastically. "Most of us know how to protect from fire anyway." he said as he made an illusion of his arm being engulfed in flames, adding some heat, for effect.

Carter was now desperate and she was tapping on Harry's shoulder. "I believe this woman wants to speak up for her sex." Jack said, smirking at her.

Harry cancelled the silencing, but did it silently and without a movement. That didn't stop her from discovering when her voice came back though. "Why are you still living in secret?" she finally got out.

"Because magicals are stupid, they claim it's tradition and they hate change." Harry said.

"But that's so short-sighted." Carter pressed. "Look what you've done. What could your people do for normal humans, if we only knew?"

"War." Harry said easily.

"What do you mean?" Jack asked.

"Let me demonstrate." Harry said, sending a spell at Jack, who suddenly stopped dead.

"Why can't I see?" he asked, slight worry in his voice.

"Exactly." Harry said, returning his sight. "Magicals have all sorts of fun capabilities. Your governments would use those to make war and then things would just escalate. Not that it would stop you without. You're doing such a marvellous job picking fights with anyone that don't agree with you.

"Then there's things like mind-control, torture and instant death." he continued. "Those are against magical law, but people still do them."

"They use mind-control?" Carter asked.

"What do you think the Wolves' first mission was?" Harry asked.

"Taking out the bad ones." Daniel said in realisation. "How can you know that you got them all?"

"Most bad people know other bad people. Some truth serum and those people started pointing out others." Harry said. "Not that I think we got them all, but the Wolves have been doing such a great job, that the bad ones are either in hiding or simply quit. In a generation or two, things will have been cleaned up enough that we can finally come out of the shadows. In the meanwhile I'm getting them ready to see the mundane world for the wonders they have."

"Truth serum?" Jack asked.

"100% effective, every time." Harry said, as they reached an ice-cream stand. "I'll have the usual, Joe." Harry said to the man inside the stand, which was impossibly big on the inside. It even had some seats and tables with patrons.

"Not coming in today, Sir Black?" the man asked.

"I told you to call me Harry, Joe." Harry whined.

"Not gonna happen." Joe said back with a smirk. "Can't be lettin' people think I don't respect the Great Sir Harry Black, can I?"

"Can you people never let a bloke just be a bloke?" Harry asked, as the man prepared for him his favourite sugar-cone with a mix of different flavours and a sprinkle of something glittery. It looked very girly, but it was delicious.

"That's one Harry Black special, with fairy dust." Joe said proudly.

"You named it after me?" Harry asked.

"Giving anything your name makes it sell better." Joe said. "I do end up paying the goblins a bit for the use of your name, but I still make more profits." He looked at the people with Harry. "New arrivals?" he asked.

"Guests." Harry said.

"Not often we have those." Joe said. "What'll it be fellas, lady?" he asked them.

Having them choose ice-cream was a mission and a half, since Joe had hundreds of flavours and toppings.

Half an hour later, Harry was getting a second ice-cream, because he'd finished his first while they chose. Harry tried to pay, but the man refused his money, stating it was no good at his store. Joe was likely just trying to impress the guests, since he usually had no problem letting Harry pay. As they walked away, Carter asked, "Was that really sprinkle-flavoured ice-cream?"

"Sprinkle-flavoured with a vanilla topping is Luna's favourite." Harry said, with a fond smile. Luna just loved doing things her own way. "Sometimes chocolate."

Even Bra'tac was enjoying the treat, as they continued to walk.

"This is a beautiful town, Harry." Jack said, as he looked around. The weather was fair, there was a slight breeze and the atmosphere was simply peaceful. The sound of children laughing was heard, as they ran down the streets in small packs. There were even birds singing in the trees.

"How did you do it, though?" Sam asked. "Is there some sort of wall above us keeping the air here?"

"It's called a ward." Harry nodded. "Wards can do anything from creating physical barriers to stopping people with ill intent."

"You could make people that want to harm others unable to enter a place?" Bra'tac asked.

"Sure." Harry said. "We've walked through four of them already."

"You have wards like that here?" Jack asked in confusion. "Who'd want to harm anyone here?"

"People haven't gotten used to the peace here. They're all expecting the other shoe to drop at any moment." Harry explained. "They all want to protect their children and their houses, but there are laws against putting up certain wards. You can't hide your house for example. It would affect the space expansion magic and give us trouble finding it, in an emergency."

"You can hide entire houses?" Daniel asked.

"I can hide entire towns on Mars." Harry pointed out.

"No wonder we don't know about you." Sam finally realised. "Did the Mars Rover land anywhere near here?" she asked. That was a reasonably recent event.

"Nah. That happened quite a bit away." Harry said. "We've got a crew watching it."

"If only they knew humans were living here." Jack chuckled. "Magical humans, but still."

"Some of the people are normal humans." Harry said. "The scientists, for example. They love it here, though. With magic, their knowledge is expanding quickly. Practical tests of theories no longer take years. They take months. If I'm not mistaken, our large hadron collider should be coming online soon. It took only two weeks to build. I don't even know what it does! Isn't that exciting?"

"I thought you were the most advanced of the lot of you?" Sam asked.

"No way." Harry said. "To be fair, I'm probably the most inventive magical, but that takes imagination and a bit of knowledge. The scientists have their work cut out for them, though. They need to explain what they want, to people only slightly more educated than Bra'tac, here." Harry had had a difficult realisation a while back. Hermione wasn't a genius. She was a very smart girl, with a phenomenal memory, but Harry had had to admit that he was, as far as certain things went, smarter than her. She was still the smartest of his girls, but she wasn't the next Einstein, as he had thought.

"I am not uneducated." Bra'tac said.

"How many books have you read?" Harry countered.

"What are books?" Bra'tac asked.

"That's what I mean." Harry said.

"The Goa'uld like to keep people under their control, by limiting what they learn. Most aren't even allowed to read." Daniel said. "It's no fault of your own." he said to the man.

"Learning doesn't give you skill." Bra'tac countered.

"Do you know that we're standing on a planet that had no life three years ago?" Harry asked. "It's because of knowledge that all this is here." Bra'tac looked contemplative at that. "Why do you think Daniel is considered so valuable to the team? He's no fighter. He's just very well educated. Knowledge is power. It's because of knowledge that I can do most of what I do. Your Goa'uld would use this knowledge and make themselves out to be gods. Hell, that's exactly what they do, and look how much power they've accumulated."

Harry lifted them up and flew them back to the hospital, dodging a flying carpet as he went. The passengers on the carpet all pointed and waved, while the one flying the carpet sat back smoking something that looked suspiciously like a joint.

"Was that guy smoking some green?" Jack asked.

"Likely." Harry said with a shrug.

"It's legal here?" Jack asked.

"Carpets fly themselves if you know what you're doing." Harry said. "I saw one guy completely passed out, with his carpet flying him home after a long night of drinking. There are effects in place to ensure that the smoke don't bother people who don't like it, or don't want to expose their children to it." It had been one of Hermione's inventions. It was a simple spell, but she was celebrated for it, by smokers and those who didn't alike.

"So, you can just do whatever you like?" Daniel asked.

"Of course not." Harry said. "There are laws, but they don't limit people as much, since much can be undone with magic." he said as they landed on the roof. Harry walked them into the hospital and cast a point me with a conjured pointed crystal. From the direction, Harry suspected the patients were three floors down, so he took them via the transport room.

When they exited, they asked a nurse where the new patients were and they were pointed to a ward, where Teal'c was standing next to his son's bed, his mother crying in relief, as she stroked the sleeping boy's head.

"Good news?" Harry asked.

"My son is never going to need an implantation." Teal'c said, happiness clearly written on his normally dour face. "Your betrothed made him whole. He has no pouch, for a larva."

"That is good news." Harry said. "Surprising, but good."

"They are human." Pansy said, as she walked in and hugged Harry. "They were modified. I just modified him back."

"I thought they were an alien race?" Sam asked.

"Well, with enough generations being modified, I suspect they adapted to have a pouch." Pansy said. "His children may be born with the pouch, but we can change them as well. Just, don't put him in one of those sarcophagus things. That might revert him."

"They'll be staying here." Harry said. "Teal'c will want to be able to visit, after all."

"What about money?" Jack asked. "I know that ice-cream guy didn't want any, but they'll need something."

"I can sponsor them for a bit until they acclimate." Harry said. "We can go by the bank and open an account for them."

"I'll take them." Pansy said. "My day is open."

"Thanks, luv." Harry said, kissing her forehead. "If Drey'auc wants to do something, we can get her a job, as well."

"Job?" Drey'auc asked. She wondered if she could do anything on this planet.

"Like slavery, but you do only things you want to do and you get money for it." Jack said.

"That was our first law." Harry said.

"To stay here, you have to contribute." Pansy nodded.

"I will sponsor my own family." Teal'c said. He was working for the SGC. It wasn't much, but he had been informed that he was receiving a payment, which he could use for necessities.

"If you find you have time, you could find part-time work here on Harmony. We could always use some strong people in construction." Harry offered. "It's not fancy work, but it pays well, I'm told."

"We can arrange something for him with the scientists." Pansy said. "Maybe he can assist them at the military R&D in design for the-?"

"Let's not talk about that just now." Harry said, sending a look at Pansy.

"Oh, right." Pansy nodded. "Sorry."

There was a pregnant silence as that titbit sunk in.

"What's your currency called?" Daniel asked, then.

"We adopted a credit system." Harry said, grateful for the change of topic. "We didn't want to be defined by Earth standards and we don't want to waste paper or encourage theft."

"And what is your credits based on?" Daniel asked.

"Gold, and a few other precious elements and stones." Harry said. "Researchers get paid the best though, since science and knowledge are our primary driving forces. We place a lot of value in knowledge and discovery."

"And you've been doing nothing to add to that for months now." Pansy said, with a raised eyebrow.

"I've been babysitting these accident-prone excuses for explorers." Harry said, pointing a thumb at the SG-1 crew.

"Hey!" Jack objected. "I'm not accident-prone." he finished.

"Yeah, right." Harry scoffed. "On half your missions you are affected. You were a cave-man, got super-old, were copied by a living crystal and got transported by alien tech to fight a lizard monster. You even got killed once. If that's not some sort of record, I'll shave my head."

"I'm still not accident-prone." Jack mumbled. He'd not thought of it like that before. He did tend to get affected by nearly half the missions.

"You're more inclined to finding yourself in a perilous situation than I used to be." Harry said.

"You do seem to have outgrown that." Pansy mused.

"Oh, come on!" Harry exclaimed. You know you just jinxed me, right?" he asked.

"Is that a real thing?" Daniel asked.

"Yes." Harry said, while Pansy firmly said, "No."

"I'm inclined to believe the healer." Teal'c said.

"That's normally a good idea." Harry agreed. "Except when I'm the one she's arguing with."

"You're not nearly right as often as you think you are, Mister 'I just want to test this theory, oops now I need a new hand'."

"That was one time." Harry argued. "And I was working with a new laser device. How was I to know it would keep its charge long enough to do all that."

"You nearly cut the moon in half!" Pansy exclaimed. "From Mars, no less!"

"Fine!" Harry exclaimed exasperatedly. "I'm sorry I was playing with a new laser, while eating Pizza." He turned to Jack, "Don't eat greasy food while playing with lasers. You'll never hear the end of it."

"Um." Jack said, intelligently.

"Don't worry." Harry said. "The Earth wasn't touched. I was able to beat the laser back and put up a shield."

"Um." Jack said, again.

"You broke him." Pansy said.

"I think he's more worried about statements like 'nearly cut the moon in half'." Daniel said. Jack nodded.

"It was a new defensive matrix I was working on." Harry said. "The laser makes a physical shield, by… well, that's a trade secret, isn't it?"

"Now you know why he needs a bodyguard." Pansy sighed. "And this happened while he was making a defensive item. Imagine what precautions we need to take when he's working on weapons."

Jack didn't say 'Um' this time. But it looked like he wanted to.

"Hold on." Sam said. "He could block something that powerful, from hitting an entire planet?"

"Sure." Harry said. "Simple when you know what to protect from and know the energies intimately."

"Do me a favour." Jack finally said as he shook himself from his stupor. "Next time you're working on any defensive items, let Daniel know to expect the end of the world."

"Seriously people, it was a one-time thing." Harry defended himself. "I've put protections in place and everything. I even work on things like that only when I'd need to cut through Mars itself to get to Earth."

"While that does make me feel better, it doesn't necessarily inspire confidence." Jack said.

"Oh, hush you." Harry said. "Let's get Bra'tac back home." he said as he turned around and walked back towards the door. "Pansy, you got Drey'auc?" he asked.

"I'll get Mayor Black to assign her a place with a view." Pansy nodded, before turning to the woman, "Unless you don't like heights?" she asked.

"I don't mind." Drey'auc said, gratefully. She turned to her husband. "Thank you for coming for us." she said.

Teal'c smiled and nodded at his wife in his usual stoic way. Then he broke his silence, "Tell Rya'c that I will visit, when I am able."

"Don't worry, big guy." Harry said. "They are both in good hands." he promised.

"Unless one of your experiments blows up the planet." Carter said.

"See what I mean?" Harry said to Jack. "One mistake. They never forget."

Jack nodded in understanding, even though he thought their caution was warranted, in this case.

"Mayor Black?" Daniel asked.

"My godfather, Sirius Black." Harry said. "He decided he wanted to be mayor and we allowed it. Now he's begging to be let off the job, but we're forcing him to finish his sentence… I mean his term in office."

"And you were adopted by him." Jack said with a nod, having heard his full name before. "Sir?" he asked.

"The Queen was pleased when I stopped an attack on an international body, much like the UN, but for magicals." Harry explained. "There was also the fact that we killed a bunch of un-killable demon-like creatures that like to suck out human souls and finished re-capturing the escaped prisoners from a magical prison."

"You don't seem to have many dull moments in your life." Daniel pointed out.

"You have no idea." Harry said. "That was all one day."

"No." Jack interrupted. "You won't just be gliding over that statement. Demons? Human souls?"

"Yeah." Harry said. "As I understand it, a very bad dark magical experimented on humans and changed them, or their corpses into creatures called Dementors. That was a couple hundred years back." he said, producing an illusion, for them to see. "Unfortunately you need to be magical or a non-magical born into a magical family to even see them normally. They are more spirit than physical."

"So your people have children that are closer to human, than yourselves?" Sam asked.

"Just like magicals are born into non-magical families as well." Harry said, nodding. "That's how we know we're human, and not some off-shoot, or an actual alien race."

"There could be a genetic reason as well." Sam said. "If there was an alien race, mixed in at some point in the distant past, their genes could have permeated throughout all of humanity by now."

"I suppose it's possible." Harry allowed. "But I don't think so. I like to believe we're just a natural part of human evolution, or something on Earth made us magical. The Nox, for example, seem to be tapping into some of what we do. We're more powerful, though, if not as scientifically advanced as them." It turned out they drew magical power from life itself, where magicals on earth tended to have a natural reservoir. That explained why they lived on such a lush planet.

"You really are in contact with them?" Daniel asked. "We've got many questions about them."

"And you'll have to keep them." Harry said. "I'll not be betraying their trust, just because you are curious."

"But-" Daniel tried.

"I said, no." Harry said sternly, as they made it to the roof and Harry produced the Saucer again.

"The young one is loyal to his allies." Bra'tac said, with an approving nod. "It is something you will appreciate, when other people have questions about your operations, and he refuses them the same way." he pointed out.

"You may not be well educated, but you are wise." Harry said, smiling at the man.

"Not all knowledge comes from an academic education, it seems." Bra'tac said with a smile at the young man.

"I really did not mean to offend with that." Harry said. "And I'll help you learn, don't worry."

"I don't think we have time for that." Daniel said, as he buckled up.

"Nonsense." Harry said, closing his eyes for a moment and concentrating. When he was done, he levitated his ring off his finger and to the old man. "There, put that on for a bit." he instructed the old man.

Bra'tac looked at the ring in confusion, but did as instructed. Harry brought out his Comm and opened it to a story-book, expanding it and floating it to the old man. "There, read that." he said.

"But I don't know… how." Bra'tac said as he looked at the display and lost steam, as the letters started making sense to him, as Harry flew them up and to Prometheus. "This… is a story. The words, letters. They are talking to me. I can hear them in my head. Is this what reading is like?"

"Well, I've given you a basic education on the English language." Harry explained. "The knowledge is settling into your mind into the language centre, as you learn. You need to continue reading, so that it settles properly. I'm not giving you that ring forever."

"You can just implant knowledge?" Sam asked, as Bra'tac went back to his reading. It was a short story, filled with humour and a life lesson. It should keep him entertained. The knowledge of how to turn the page came to him naturally as well, and he was soon flipping to the next page.

"Not implant." Harry said. "Let's rather say, it's a form of enhanced learning. The information you have can be imparted to others, but they still need to experience the use of the information so that it can settle into your mind. It's not instant. If I tried that, I might overwrite other information. The mind needs time to process. To store the information in a way that your unique mind will understand."

"That is how your betrothed, Pansy, was learning so fast." Teal'c said in understanding.

"She wanted to learn about the human genome." Harry confirmed. "So we got her the information from a human medical doctor specializing in genetics and genetic flaws and diseases."

"With what she did today, she's likely already capable of genetic manipulation." Sam said, in realisation.

Harry just looked at her as he landed them in the Prometheus and transported them back to Chulak, exiting the ship again. He'd not be telling her about how that magic functioned after all. That was family magic knowledge.

"You know you're frustrating the hell out of Captain Carter, right?" Jack asked, smirking at Harry.

"You've got enough bloody answers." Harry said. "If she's frustrated, get her laid or something. That's not my problem."

"Hey!" Sam objected.

"Sorry." Harry said. "In our culture it's considered impolite, even a crime, to ask after such specialized knowledge. I tend not to mind, since you are only curious, which is natural, but you've been asking quite a few questions and I've been, what I consider to be, quite forthcoming."

"He's right." Daniel said. "We didn't know any of this before. He's been giving us more than we'd have known on our own."

"In fact, only family of the magical and the heads of countries know." Harry pointed out. "You now need to keep your lips zipped. No more telling the general about my girls or things that he really shouldn't have been told."

"Yeah, sorry about that." Jack said. "The general needed assurances and we were trying to play nice, without giving too much away."

"I know, and I understand, but that will have to tide him over until things change." Harry warned. "For the future, remember that Magic will never be something that you can tell someone about. If anyone asks and you need to give them something, we're advanced friendly aliens, with access to energies and technology you can't emulate because of a lack of knowledge."

Sam looked like she wanted to object, but a look from Jack made her keep her mouth shut. "We understand." Jack said for her. "You're just trying to protect us and your own people."

Harry set them down near Teal'c's house, when they arrived and they said goodbye to Bra'tac, with Harry handing him another cell phone, informing him how it was operated. As an afterthought, he cast repairing magic at the house and rebuilt it, removing the symbol from the side, which designated the house as one a traitor had lived in. Then he placed a ward to keep anyone with bad intentions away.

"Why did you do that?" Jack asked.

"Why not?" Harry asked. "I added a ward to keep anyone in the house safe." He turned to Teal'c. "Do you mind? I thought your house would make for a decent meeting place."

"It was a gift from Apophis for many years of loyal service." Teal'c said. "It is poetic that it will serve as a safe place against the false gods and their Jaffa."

"Thanks." Harry said, as they lifted up again. "Should we look around a bit, or are you due back sometime soon?"

They did end up flying around for a while, but they found no Goa'uld on the planet. There were a few priests, who Harry found some vindictive pleasure in making feel ill. Their larvae wouldn't be able to counter the effects, since they weren't really sick. Or, he suspected they wouldn't. He didn't stick around to find out.

When they were back on Prometheus after a few hours of scouting, Daniel received a call on his cell.

"General?" Daniel answered. "The problem is no longer a problem." … "I can't tell you that, sir." … "That would be an accurate assumption." … "I'll tell him, sir, when I speak to him again." … "Goodbye."

"Checking up on you?" Harry asked.

"He was wondering if we'd made alternate arrangements." Daniel confirmed. "He suspects you got involved. He says thank you, by the way."

"Cool." Harry said. "Home, then?" he asked.

"We do have a couple more hours." Jack said. "Maybe me and Teal'c could go to the gym?" he asked.

"Teal'c and I." Harry corrected negligently, pulling out a couple of training lightsabers from a pocket. He'd suspected this might happen. "Have fun. You know how the transport room works, right?"

"It's not rocket science." Jack said as he walked off with Teal'c, both of them holding the toys.

"Want to help me figure out how to kill a symbiote and not the human?" Harry asked Sam and Daniel, as he led them to his lab.

OOO

A few days later, the SG-1 team, sans Daniel returned through the Stargate. They were shaken and completely dispirited. They'd just watched Daniel die.

"Sir-" Jack started, as General Hammond appeared.

"No." General Hammond said firmly. "Our Ally contacted me. Doctor Jackson is not dead. An alien has messed with your memories."

"What?" Jack asked, his heart-rate increasing as both hope and anger started to burn there.

"There is apparently some sort of energy field around the location where Doctor Jackson is being held, which is causing our ally some difficulty to rescue Jackson, but he's working on it." General Hammond said.

"But I saw him die." Sam said.

"I know, captain." Hammond said. "Let's get you to the infirmary." he said, indicating for the medical staff to take them away. "I'll need to remember to thank Lieutenant-Colonel Lupin." he said as they were led away.

OOO

"Finally!" Harry exclaimed as he appeared in the underwater alien dwelling. "Hello Daniel."

"What took you so long?" Jackson asked. He seemed to be at his wit's end.

"What is it with you people and never greeting properly?" Harry asked. "Do you have any idea how difficult it was to get here?"

"Ahh!" the alien creature yelled in anger at the intruder in its home.

"Shut up." Harry said, knocking the creature out. "Seriously? He kidnaps you, modifies your friend's memories, before shoving them through the Stargate and he's yelling at me?"

"He's looking for information on his mate. An ancient Babylonian story of someone called Omoroca." Daniel explained. "If I never find my wife, I'd be looking for answers, too."

"You and I have the same problem it seems." Harry said. "Sympathy for the devil." he said.

"You've got some demons in your past." Daniel said, not trying to be funny.

"You have no idea." Harry allowed. "Let's get this information and get out of here."

"How?" Daniel asked.

"Focus on the memory, and I'll go retrieve it for you." Harry said, with a shrug.

"You can read minds?" Daniel asked.

"It's not something many of us can do, but I learned the trick, because it was useful for my learning tech." Harry explained.

That made sense to Daniel. He still wasn't certain if he liked someone messing in his mind, though. "Is it safe?" he asked.

"Really?" Harry asked.

"Yeah, I think I'm justified in asking considering the whole cutting the moon in half, thing." Daniel said.

"You're just like a woman, you know that?" Harry said. "Now sit down and look me in the eyes." Daniel reluctantly sat down and Harry sat opposite him. "Focus on where you last read or heard about Omoroca."

It took them a few minutes to narrow it down, Harry taking Daniel with him to show him what he found. Daniel was awed at the detail of the memories. "I didn't know I remembered so much." he admitted in the strange mind-scape they were in. They had no bodies, but he could feel Harry was close-by.

"The subconscious mind is more perceptive than the conscious one." Harry said. "People with photographic memories have more access to that part of their minds, and they can recall like this all the time, but without the ability to choose the level of detail they want. To them, it's normally an issue. Imagine seeing your father naked and not being able to forget it." there was a feeling in Daniel's mind, like a shudder from Harry.

"In that case, I'm thankful that I don't have a photographic memory." Daniel said. For him the worst was the memory of his parents dying in front of his eyes. Unbidden, the memory came forward and Daniel watched in horror as his parents died again, in vivid detail.

"Sorry about that." Harry said as he pushed the memory aside. "I take full responsibility. I shouldn't have talked about things I didn't know."

Daniel was quiet, but he focussed past his own pain, after a bit, and they were soon back on track and found the information. It turned out that Omoroca had been killed by a Goa'uld called Belus, for opposing him, likely leading to the human uprising against the Goa'uld on Earth in the first place.

Instead of waking the water-creature, Harry kept him under and entered his mind, planting the memories for him to find, with a warning to never kidnap people. He scanned for and found Daniel's equipment, before summoning everything and then apparated Daniel back out to the waiting ship. "Can you get back on your own, or do you need a lift?" Harry asked.

Daniel was clutching his stomach. "What was that?" he asked.

"Wormhole travel, I'm pretty sure." Harry said.

"That felt nothing like a Stargate." Daniel denied.

"Mine's different." Harry said. "Your physical body goes through a tiny wormhole, compressed on the one side and decompressed the other. It's one of the gifts of my people, though it is limited in range. Nothing like the Stargate."

Daniel finally felt better and showed him his cell phone. "I'll just call and take the Stargate." he said.

"Good enough." Harry said. "Tell your friends that I can help with those implanted memories if they want." he offered, as he walked back onto The Saucer. The alien's tech had been interesting, but Harry had found nothing he couldn't do already. The problem with entering the dwelling, had come from not being able to get an image into it, so he could safely transport in. He'd ended up drilling a hole, from underneath, where he'd needed to tunnel to get to in the first place. He didn't want the place to be flooded or potentially kill Daniel in the process of gaining access, after all.

Harry went back to his own life after that.

OOO

Hathor, the goddess of sex (drugs and rock and roll, if you asked Jack) sat in the SGC, having recently been released from her two-thousand year stasis in a Mayan temple in Mexico and came directly to where the Stargate was. The Goa'uld queen had already started ensnaring the minds of the men who worked at the SGC. Samantha Carter had led the other women in an attempt to subdue the woman, but she had been prepared, and they were captured and locked up.

"I always feel like I'm the girl." Sam was saying to her doctor friend, talking about her experience in the military.

"There's nothing wrong with being a woman." Fleur said as she appeared.

"Who are you?" one of the female soldiers demanded as they all stood up and readied themselves.

"I am one of the hidden allies of the SGC." Fleur said.

"Fleur." Sam said with a sigh of relief. "Thank God. Is H- the Envoy here?" she corrected quickly, remembering her company.

"He wanted to come, but I convinced him that I can do a better job." Fleur said, smiling as she did so. "We can't let a man do a woman's job, after all."

"She's got all the men under some sort of mind control." Sam said.

"Pheromones, yes." Fleur said. "I can smell the stink of her from here."

"Can you counter it?" Sam asked.

"I can do better." Fleur said, as the door unlocked, by her wandless magic, and opened for her.

Fleur confidently walked out, her Veela Allure at full blast. One of the men turned, about to point his gun, but then his mouth opened and he stared, like he was looking at an actual goddess of beauty. "Come, my friend." Fleur said. "Let us go de-srone zees woman, who sinks she can rule man by degrading real women everywhere. She's putting ze female movement back decades wis 'er actions."

Fleur walked confidently, the men following in her wake, not caring that the other women were taking their weapons from them. They just wanted to focus on the beautiful woman leading them. They didn't even care where they were going. Sam quickly went to free Teal'c, who was then armed as he joined them, since his mind was clear. Fleur smiled at him, as she purposely excluded him from her Allure. It was something her wandless control had granted her the ability to do. That and the increased strength of her ability, when focussed.

The thing with pheromones was that they affected you hormonally, enslaved you to your baser instincts. The thing with a Veela allure, was that it was a magical effect. All you needed to do was be a male and see her. If you were magical, with certain training or a deep love for someone else, that could counter it. Even the soldiers who would normally have other persuasions, had fallen in-line behind Hathor, due to her effect, until Fleur turned their heads her way. With raised libidos all around, Fleur's effect was increased and the drool was already starting to flow from slack-jawed soldiers, who followed like dogs in heat.

Hathor was submerged in a whirlpool tub filled with her progeny. Larval Goa'uld were swarming around her and she was preparing them for the male she had chosen to be her first Jaffa, Jack O'Neill. He was lying unconscious on the floor, his Jaffa pouch having recently been added by the device on Hathor's body, as the other females all entered the room, led by Fleur.

When Hathor came up, strangely completely dry, she spotted the interlopers and called for her guards, who came rushing in, weapons drawn. At seeing the blonde beauty, however, they stopped and instantly lowered their weapons. Fleur just smiled at the woman, as more guards entered and stopped at seeing Fleur.

"Who are you?" Hathor asked.

"Moi?" Fleur asked, affecting her French accent on purpose. "I am ze only one wis ze power of real love." she said, in her sultry voice, her very essence dripping poised, sensual beauty. "I do not make men serve me as you would 'ave zees do."

"You have ensnared their minds to follow you." Hathor accused.

"And I was only successful, because you 'ave so soroughly prepared zem." Fleur said. "Sank you, for making my work easy." She turned to the men then. "Would you please put down your weapons?" she asked, eyes big. "Zey make me so nervous." As one, every single man, excluding Teal'c placed their weapons down on the ground, smiling all the while.

Fleur turned back to the alien woman. "As for you," she said, lifting her hand and waving it, "be gone." Hathor and the tub she was standing in, disappeared in a flash. "Sank you all for joining me." she said to the soldiers who had followed. "I 'ope to see you again." she smirked, before walking to Jack and vanishing with him as well.

"Where did she go?" one of the men asked, longingly.

"How long do you think this will last?" Doctor Fraiser asked.

"Knowing Fleur as little as I do, I have no idea." Sam said, even as the men started shaking their heads, as if to clear them. "Probably not long, though."

OOO

(AN: This next scene contains elements of a sexual nature. Be warned.)

"Where have you taken me?!" Hathor demanded, still standing in the tub, which no longer swirled, since it had lost power.

"Hi there." Harry waved merrily at the woman.

"You have taken me against my will." Hathor said. "Return me at once!"

"I don't think so." Fleur said, without the accent, as she appeared with Jack.

"Is he alright?" Harry asked.

"She made him a Jaffa." Fleur said. "We'll need to get him to Pansy, quickly."

"We're gone." Harry said, transporting them to Prometheus and back to Mars. Before Fleur disappeared with Jack again, directly to the hospital. Harry looked at the woman, who had finally stepped out of the tub. "Now, what to do with you?" he asked, transporting the tub away with a flick of a finger.

"You are not a Goa'uld." the woman said.

Harry had to admit, the woman was beautiful, but he could pick up on her crazy from where he sat, so he placed a visible shield around her, to keep her in place. "I am not." Harry confirmed.

"You have power, though." Hathor said, looking at the shield around her. If she could get her hands on him, she could use his power and quickly rise back to power among the System Lords.

"I do." Harry allowed.

"With your power, you could be a god." Hathor said, smiling at him, then. "With me by your side-"

"No, thanks." Harry said easily. "The blond who took you out without any trouble? She's one of my eight betrothed. You don't hold a candle to her, or any of the others."

"But she is a girl." Hathor said. "I am a woman. I could show you things-"

"You really can't." Harry said. "I've invented sexual techniques that would leave you, the supposed goddess of sex, begging like a dog for more."

"You cannot expect me to believe-" Hathor started again.

"Show her." Fleur said as she reappeared.

"What?" Harry asked.

"Show her. Give her a quick glimpse as to why she is not worthy." Fleur said.

"I don't know…" Harry said dubiously. "Wouldn't that be considered assault?"

"For her kind?" Fleur asked, with a raised eyebrow.

"Fine, but only this once." Harry conceded, flicking a finger at the woman.

Hathor could not believe the hubris of these people. To think they dared to look down on her. The moment the boy came near her, to show her what the witch by his side had suggested, he'd be hers. Harry didn't get up from his seat though, and suddenly she felt something building in her. "What… what are you doing?" she asked as her eyes widened and her hand went to her abdomen. "This is… Oh!" she felt a sudden shock of recognition, at the feeling.

Harry turned to his girl. "Are you sure this is okay?" he asked. "I feel kind of dirty for doing this."

"She needs to understand who holds the power here. She only understands power and sex." Fleur said, watching as Hathor went down on her knees, shaking slightly as her imminent release built. "Next to her, you truly are a god. She's not even human. If we can rid her of the symbiote, maybe we can offer her a new life, but before that, I want her to realise the error of her ways."

Hathor, in the meanwhile, was shaking more violently as her body prepared for something greater than she had ever felt, in all her many years. She felt it build until she couldn't stand it, and then it stopped instantly, as Harry stopped the magic. "No!" she exclaimed, completely frustrated with not achieving what had been about to happen. Her love of sex and sexual release was what defined her. This was not just unfair, it was torture to her. "Don't stop!" she begged, only then realising what he had said had come to pass, exactly as he had foretold. "Please?" she asked urgently, anyway.

"Do you understand now?" Fleur asked. "Do you see why we look down on your claim as a goddess of sex, or anything else?"

"I see, I see! Please… don't stop." she broke down in sobs, as she finally realised that she was nothing but a worm to these people.

"See?" Harry said. "Now she's crying."

"You don't know how frustrating this is to her." Fleur smirked. "I'd have let her achieve her fulfilment and then let her beg to be your guinea pig, to experiment on, for more."

"I'll do it!" Hathor said instantly. "Please!" she begged again.

"Finish it, Harry." Fleur instructed, smirking in victory.

"But-" Harry started.

"You know that I'm going to win this argument." Fleur chided. "I know what I'm doing." she said, referring to her Veela gifts. Hathor thought that this woman must be an angel, come to save her from the madness of the frustration she was suffering.

"Fine." Harry said, flicking a finger again.

Hathor didn't know what to expect, but for the pleasure to suddenly pick up from exactly where it had left off, was not it. She screamed her ecstasy as her body shook in the mightiest release of pleasure hormones she had ever felt. Her mind was aflame with the pure joy of it all, for minutes, as she lay on the floor shaking and unable to control her extremities. When she had finally caught her breath, a smile attached to her face, Fleur spoke up again.

"Now, ask yourself, will anything ever feel that good again?" she asked.

Hathor's smile instantly vanished as she realised the woman before her was no angel. She was a devil. And she'd fallen for her trap. "You… you did that on purpose." she accused, finally seeing the devilish smirk on Harry's face.

"Well, we needed you to agree for us to experiment on, for the magic to work as it should." Harry said. You had to love family magics, when it was used for good. "You just gave us permission to use you to destroy the Goa'uld race."

OOO

Jack was returned a couple of hours later, good as new. Better even, as he felt more alive than he had in years, aches he didn't know he was carrying healed under the ministrations of one of Harry's betrothed. He had some news for his team, but they needed to wait to be alone.

Later that evening at Jack's house, they were finally talking about it.

"And she agreed to it?" Daniel asked.

"They apparently tricked her into agreeing to it." Jack said. "Now she can't fight or attack them and they've got a live, willing test-subject."

"How did they trick her?" Sam asked,

"Trade secret, apparently." Jack groused.

OOO

Testing on Hathor was proceeding swimmingly, by the time the wolves on monitoring duty informed Harry of the latest trip. There had apparently been a disastrous event at one of the sites, but Harry couldn't follow this time. The planet was too close to a black-hole, and he'd rather not tempt going there. A Eudaemon, sent at a time of day when the planet was in the best phase to have it appear on the other side of the planet from the black hole, was stationed above the planet for communications and monitoring, though, so they had a limited view from where it was suspended.

Harry had considered sending Eudaemon with every team, but decided that it would spread his resources too thin, since he was already dedicated to making new Eudaemon every other week. This last incident had a decidedly darker tone when, the next day, the team found that the sole survivor, a sweet little girl, called Cassandra, was a biological bomb, set to go off in a very short amount of time.

Technically she had a bomb in her body, but still. It was a furious Harry who marched into the ward, where Doctor Fraiser was still inspecting the girl, grabbing both the doctor and the bed the girl was on and disappeared.

"What's going on?!" Doctor Fraiser asked urgently, noting a large group of armed individuals, and eight girls, including Fleur, who she had recently met, waiting for Harry. Harry didn't say a word, as he sat down and activated the transport of first the saucer, then Prometheus, and finally the saucer again, directly onto the roof of the hospital.

He got up again, approaching the bed, but Pansy beat him to it, transporting the worried Doctor and girl away.

"Harry!" Hermione finally got his attention. "You were scaring those people!" she insisted.

Harry was shaking in his anger. He couldn't let this go, but he couldn't go to that planet, since it was still a risk. "I need to vent my anger." he finally ground out.

"Training room." Cooper said instantly.

Harry didn't even think about it and went back to Prometheus instantly, the wolves following as he apparated to the training room. He spent the next half-hour getting beaten on. Anger didn't make you any more tactful or coordinated. The wolves understood though. Many of them had been watching as the sweet girl was diagnosed and had wanted to go to the responsible person. The Ha'tak starship of the responsible Goa'uld was in orbit above the planet, after all.

When Harry was good and bloody, and more in control, he was finally able to think more rationally. "I want the System Lords found and killed." he said. He was more rational, not forgiving.

"We'll need to start work on that fleet then, sir." Cooper said, as he handed Harry a towel, not healing Harry's split lip or bruised body. He knew that the pain would ground him, even if he didn't like seeing the cub so beaten. "You'll probably need to start training people and making weapons too." Magic could do much, but not everything.

"Fine." Harry said, as he started working out in his head what he'd need. The wolves could help, but he'd need to make the finer systems. The Goblins would be making some good money going forward. He'd probably be cleaning out their supply of metal, and needing to purchase a whole bunch from Earth. "It's going to be an expensive time, going forward." They were already working on new designs for short range vessels, but it seemed that that project would need to be scrapped for this one.

"Materials, sir?" Cooper asked.

"Yes." Harry agreed.

"We've taken the liberty of preparing for that eventuality, sir." Cooped said with a smile. "We've used your basic design from the Prometheus, and added a few finer details, with Doctor Pike. The hulls are all almost finished. We just need your help with the magic."

Harry's mood actually improved at hearing that. "That's mighty fine work, Cooper."

"Thank Lady Greengrass." Cooper said. "She was the one that started the project."

"Daphne?" Harry asked, turning to where she stood proud, and slightly smugly.

"You didn't think I was doing nothing while you were off helping your new friends did you?" Daphne asked. She took out Harry's Comm, "You received a call while you were venting. I informed Doctor Jackson that Cassandra and Doctor Fraiser were here and that there is nothing to worry about."

"Cassandra?" Harry asked.

"Pansy was able to safely remove the growth and the extra elements form the girl's body." Daphne said. "Doctor Fraiser was very impressed."

Harry sighed in relief, a knot of nervous tension leaving his body. "Thank Merlin." he said.

"I think the person to thank would be the one who jumped in to save the girl, damn the consequences." Remus said as he appeared in the doorway with Sirius. "If it wasn't for the wolves stepping in and ensuring nobody actually saw you, there'd be serious hell to pay."

Sirius made to speak, but a big hand came down on his shoulder, and he was quiet, as Daniels appeared. The big wolf was still as intimidating as ever and now that he was dating Aunty Poppy, for some reason he'd decided that he was part of the family. Not that Harry complained. The big wolf was a force of nature in a fight, especially transformed and with his gear. Aunty Poppy was never in safer hands. "Not now Sirius." the big man said.

"Hi guys." Harry said. "Sorry for causing more work."

"We expect it from you." Daniels said. "You're still an impulsive cub." Daniels would forgive Harry for destroying the world. He'd not been the same since Remus was used in a ritual which made all Werewolves in the pack, into true wolves. "But it's time your elders stepped up and protected the world we all live in."

"This isn't your mission, Daniels." Harry tried.

"To hell it isn't!" the big man said angrily. "I could smell your anger the moment we stepped onto this ship!"

"You should know cub, the Wolves are part of your family." Remus said. "They don't like you threatened. You're going out into the universe to attack alien overlords who have had millennia to build their power-structure. Magic will help you, but it won't get you all the way. You need the pack."

"I don't want you all to put your lives at risk." Harry said.

"And you think we like it when you do it?" Sirius asked. "Harry, you're not a kid anymore. We'll not force you out, but this thing is growing bigger than you can handle on your own, with just one squad of wolves. If you're taking on the universe, you need an army."

OOO

The army turned out to be a large collection of magicals, wolves and some human soldiers and scientists, with loads of experience and magical tools. Pansy was so up to her ears with people to rebuild. Soldiers didn't retire young, unless they had lost limbs or other disabilities. Being offered a second chance, got a lot of recruits. What surprised Harry, was when he noticed Mad-Eye Moody training the recruits, sans the artificial limbs and scars. The man still had the eye, though. Apparently it was an advantage he intended to keep.

Pansy's medical staff had grown, and she was soon the second highest figure in the structure of the Hospital, with Madam Pomfrey having moved to Harmony and being the head of medicine. Despite that, Pansy was the most knowledgeable, for a while, while the rest of the healers were given the opportunity to learn the muggle methods from her, with magical artefacts to help the process. Their abilities were still limited to re-building human bodies, but that was still a massive advantage, making them the best healers in the world. They didn't have Pansy's wandless magic either, so she'd always keep that edge.

Harry had started teaching his spaceship magic to people, under the direction of Bill, who had wanted to know this magic for a long time anyway. Once they were started on the Fleet, Harry started working on a new Index. The StellarNet would be at the heart of it and it would, in turn, be located in Harmony, being removed from Prometheus. They wouldn't risk it falling into enemy hands by accident.

The scientists and magical researchers had been asked to prioritise the research with Hathor. She was not happy to be inspected from every angle, but her body refused to allow her any aggressive action, while Harry was keeping his part of the bargain. Every other day, he'd focus on her and send a spell her way, which would leave her convulsing in ecstasy for an hour. That more than made up for the amount of experimenting they were doing, by the terms of the magical agreement she had inadvertently signed.

So far they'd taken blood samples and studied everything from the genome of the worm, which was larger than the usual kind, to its effect on the body. Unfortunately it seemed her host's mind had long since been overridden and nothing of the original woman existed anymore.

The Stargate Observation team had also increased, and for every single mission being sent, there was a dedicated team, using the new on-board Cacodaemon on the Eudaemon, to trail and protect the Stargate teams.

OOO

It was while all this was being arranged under the expert delegation skills of Percy Weasley, that Harry was informed of another situation at the SGC.

"Hello, Envoy." Daniel said, remembering his manners this time.

"Hello, Doctor Jackson." Harry said.

"Have you been monitoring?" Daniel asked.

"Someone usually is." Harry said, noncommittally.

"Well, we've picked up some people and we've come to a bit of a problem." Daniel said.

"Colonel Maybourne of the NID." Harry said, confirming that he knew that a civilian department of the US military had decided that they could keep more advanced humans against their will, claiming they don't have human rights.

"Oh, good." Daniel sighed. "Well, we were hoping you could offer our guests a lift to their new home-planet."

"Got me an address?" Harry asked.

"There is apparently no Stargate on the planet." Daniel said. "They're also refusing to give us any information."

"What do I get out of it?" Harry asked. "Besides the satisfaction of sticking it to the self-righteous ass, who thinks humans can be kept as pets."

"I'd actually hoped that would be enough, considering your inclinations." Daniel said.

"They are asking for help from someone with superior technology, while they would not share their own. You do see the hypocrisy there, right?" Harry asked.

Daniel smiled at that. He was standing with the Tollans at the time. Only he could know that Harry was from Earth. "Well, maybe if you help them, in a way they can't help themselves, you could learn something from them?" he offered.

Harry had to consider it. While the Tollans were impossibly arrogant and self-righteous, they had good reason. They had shared their technology in the past and the people they had helped had destroyed themselves in a single day. The after-effects had cost them their own home planet in the long run. "Fine, but you warn them, if they try to unveil my secrets, I'll hand them over to Maybourne myself."

"I think that that is completely fair." Daniel said. "Do you know where they are being hosted?" he asked, looking at the leader, Omoc.

"I can arrange extraction." Harry said. "Better you get back to work. Try to convince Maybourne again or something. Look all mopey. You don't want them suspecting you."

"Suspecting me of what?" Daniel asked. He sounded rather convincing, if not for the smug look Harry could practically hear.

"Try harder." Harry said, before hanging up. He turned to Bill, who was now in co-pilot position, since Lieutenant Thomson, his usual co-pilot, was busy with something for Doctor Samantha Pike. "You got them?" he asked.

"I had them before he called." Bill said with a smirk, pulling up a display. "Do you think he believes that you were actually considering leaving them there?"

"Probably about fifty percent." Harry said. "I'm all for human rights, after all." He pressed a button. "All Wolves to the bridge." he said. "We're giving some people a lift."

It took the wolves two minutes to get ready and move to the bridge, fully kitted out. They were an efficient bunch. Some of them had been asleep. One guy's hair was still wet, probably from a shower.

"Sorry for the quick notice guys. The people we're picking up are technologically more advanced than humans from Earth. They will likely try to scan the Prometheus to figure out its capabilities and how it works. If you see one person reaching for the controllers on their arms, you are to put them in a full-body bind." Harry made an illusion of Omoc and pointed out the equipment on the sleeves of their clothing, along with a quick demonstration of how some of it had been used so far.

The wolves all nodded and took up positions around the room, before going stealth. "We good, Bill?" Harry asked.

"Good. I'm bringing them up." Bill said, activating the transport. They'd snuck a Cacodaemon onto the base, which was how they were getting in there these days, with portkeys. Unfortunately, the Cacodaemon couldn't cast spells directly this way, but they had a device to monitor and follow people unobtrusively, as well as a way around that limitation. It could place monitoring discs through access to its own transport box and for any kind of spell-like ability, indirectly used, which could be loaded onto cards, like the storage cards Harry tended to keep equipment in. Only a few people and Hermione and Padma, who had invented this specific tool, could use those, since it stored spells or items being portkeyd in a laser beam, through a system of lasers that trap the light in an ever-reflective pattern inside the cards.

The Cacodaemon had been tagging the Tollans and Bill had them all ready and activated the portkeys in a couple of seconds, making them all appear on the deck.

"Hello." Harry said, standing up. "I am the Envoy."

"Envoy of which people?" Omoc asked, seeming unsurprised at the transport, even though some of his people were clutching their stomachs.

"Exactly." Harry said.

"Where are we?" Omoc asked.

"Yes." Harry said. "That's a good point." He pulled up the illusionary display of the universe. "Where exactly are we?" he asked. Expanding the image, Harry saw one of the people stiffen and be lowered to the ground softly. Daniel had warned them. "Care to point it out?" he asked, with a raised eyebrow.

Omoc looked at Harry without even looking around. "Who are you?" he asked.

"Who are any of us, really?" Harry returned.

"Why aren't you answering my questions?" Omoc tried.

"Why are you asking questions, when you don't like them yourself?" Harry returned, watching as another person went down. This time someone noticed.

"What's happening to our people?" Narim, the one who had been rather friendly with Sam, asked.

"Narim, yes?" Harry asked.

"That is me." Narim said. "What are you doing to our people?" he asked, bending over to look at the frozen face of the person, the only part that could move was their eyes. The cat he was holding was miraculously still quite peaceful. Harry suspected Bill had added something for that, or cast a calming charm.

"You were warned that you are not allowed to scan my systems." Harry said. "They didn't listen."

"How do you know that's what they were doing?" Omoc asked.

"How do I know they weren't trying to pull a weapon from a dimensional pocket?" Harry fired back. He turned to Narim. "They are not in pain, simply unable to move. I will not threaten my crew by having your people use technology that might not be compatible with my own. Is that understood?"

Narim stood up and nodded curtly. "Of course."

Harry turned back to Omoc. "And? Where are we?" he asked, indicating around them again.

This time, the man decided to play ball. He looked around and pointed. Bill manipulated the display till the man could more accurately point out the star. He then zoomed into it and out slowly, till the planet appeared on the bridge, Harry having the forethought to make an illusion of the darkened side, manually. Better not to reveal exactly how this technology worked, by showing only the illuminated half. There were a few startled looks, as some of them seemed to realise what they were seeing was in real-time, probably from the time of day on whatever continent was being shown. Harry walked forward and held a hand up pointing to a location for the transport and Bill mapped and transported them there quickly.

"This is where we are." Harry said, before banishing the illusion and allowing the forward display to show them where they were. "Welcome home." he said.

"How did you do that?" Omoc asked. He had the decency to look impressed.

"Why should I answer?" Harry asked. "It is our policy not to share technology with people who are not ready for it."

Narim looked like he was suppressing a smile, while Bill was already looking at the planet and finding a flat part near the ocean and some forests to place the people.

"Do you have a way to contact your people?" Harry asked.

Omoc's hand twitched, like he wanted to go for a control, but thought better of it. "We do." he said.

"Good." Harry said. "Maybe my people will be in contact in a few years, when you are ready." he said. He turned to Narim. "You may stay. You seem more level-headed than your leader."

Bill instantly transported the rest away, having not known that Harry was going to keep one here, but being able to exclude him. "Why let me stay?" Narim asked.

"You were a friend to Captain Carter, when your people were nothing but rude." Harry said, beckoning for the man to follow. "I appreciate that. She's a friend of mine, as well."

"You are… close?" Narim asked.

"Only friends." Harry said. "If you want a chance with her, though, your best chances lie through me."

"She does not need a minder." Narim said.

"No, but she's just a primitive human." Harry said sarcastically. "While I hold the galaxy at my fingertips."

"He means he can go anywhere." a voice said from nowhere, startling Narim. The wolves started appearing as they walked past, going back to their entertainments, as Harry led the man to the bar.

"Do you drink?" Harry asked, before noticing Narim's look. "I thought you had mastered these kinds of technology?" he asked Narim, as he looked at the departing troops.

"You handled Omoc well." Narim said, nodding, before finally sitting down.

"Water, or something stronger?" Harry asked.

"Water, please." Narim said. He watched as a glass of water appeared out of nowhere. "Taken from a dimensional pocket?" he asked, looking at the glass, referring to Harry's previous statement.

"Made from air." Harry countered.

"Manipulation of molecular structures." Narim said. "It's not dangerous? What's the bonding catalyst?"

"Energy." Harry said. "Why should I give you a way to see Captain Carter again?" he asked in return.

"Is friendship not enough?" Narim asked.

"I'm afraid not." Harry denied. "I don't need your technology." he said bluntly then. "What I want, is your history. How do you keep the Goa'uld at bay and advance as you have without them showing up to kill you?"

Narim looked at the young man. "You are asking for technology." he said.

"Listen, Narim, I can build anything I can imagine. Tell me how to defend Earth best, and I'll give you a personal transport to my planet, where you and Carter can meet." Harry said. "You don't need to tell me how to construct a weapon, even. Just your tactics."

"Your technology is so advanced…" he looked at the glass then, in realisation. "You can make anything?" he asked.

"Almost." Harry corrected. "Sometimes I'll need the base materials, to construct. Other times I can make temporary constructs, with no need for rare materials." As an example, he summoned a large bar of gold, making it look like he'd created it. Then he placed it down gently on the glass counter, since it was heavy.

Narim reached out and tried to lift the bar, but found it was too heavy. "How long will this last?" he asked.

"As long as I want it to." Harry said. "Now, have you gotten enough information? Do I need to give you my life's story, too?"

Narim finally started talking after that, even though he was careful about it. It turned out that the Tollans had global defence systems, with very powerful weapons, which could bypass most shielding technology. That made sense to Harry. He knew a trick or two about bypassing shields as well. His weapons didn't phase out, but he could carry most anything through light. If he could see it, he could hit it with basically anything.

The only reason Prometheus wasn't fired on, was because it was invisible. Harry wondered if their systems could detect something was there, but had missed it, since they hadn't moved or because they were standing still from the moment they appeared. Surely they'd not rely entirely on visual information? Perhaps they detected on of their own were on-board? He didn't ask after it though, knowing it would likely be a trade secret.

He had needed to give the man an item he could find, and then sent him down to the planet, promising to visit, to give him what he had promised. The man would need to sign a very stringent contract, but he'd not mind him on Harmony. He was a serious person, but he had a gentle heart. That was probably why Sam liked him, and gave him a cat.

OOO

After returning home, Harry had to start working again, and he was at it for another week before the latest tragedy struck.

"You just can't stay out of trouble, can you?" Harry said, as he stood in the ice-cave in Antarctica. There had been a power-surge and somehow the Stargate had deposited Sam and Jack through another Stargate, located there. The monitoring system had fortunately picked up on the discrepancy, when one of the wolves activated it, as the Stargate in the SGC started acting strangely. It wasn't protocol to activate the monitoring system, since they could see where people were dialling to, but the quick thinking of the wolf had given them the precise location of the pair.

"Thank god!" Sam exclaimed.

"I think Harry prefers 'Envoy'." Jack joked sarcastically.

"Sorry for the wait." Harry said. "Had to go slowly for a bit there. Didn't want to drill through you accidentally, as I try to get to you, or start a cave-in."

"What planet are we on?" Sam asked, as she sat down, tiredly. She'd been looking for a way out and found a DHD, frozen in the ice. Her and Jack had been picking at it for hours.

"Earth." Harry said.

"What?" Sam asked. She hadn't even considered the possibility. She'd thought the Stargate had kicked them out on another planet, somewhere along the way to Earth. "Never mind. Colonel O'Neill is injured. We need to get him some treatment, immediately."

"I've already fixed his leg." Harry said. "His punctured lung and internal bleeding, on the other hand… That's a bit more delicate than I'm comfortable with handling myself."

"I'll be fine." Jack said, as he tried his leg and found it was feeling good as new. "I thought your girlfriend was the medical one."

"Healing bones is easy." Harry said. "Almost as easy as vanishing them, but as it turns out, that's more painful to fix." Technically he knew enough to attempt healing Jack, but he was worried healing the rib could cause more damage as it was set to rights. Better to let someone that knew what they were doing handle that. If push comes to shove he would attempt such a thing, but until that day arrived, he'd rather not.

Jack almost laughed at that, but winced as the muscles contracted painfully in his abdomen. "Don't make me laugh." he complained.

"Don't listen to me, then." Harry joked. I'm hilarious."

Jack didn't respond to that, but sighed as Harry levitated both him and Sam to himself, and soon they were on the Saucer. "Home, or Harmony?" he asked.

"Harmony." Jack said instantly. They could fix him up more quickly. He'd miss out on the good drugs, but he'd been in pain for too long. Sam nodded along.

They were soon back in the Hospital on Harmony.

"You people keep on getting in trouble." Madam Pomfrey said, as she approached to help out.

"You're not one of Harry's girlfriends." Jack stated. He'd seen them all and this woman looked decidedly too old for Harry.

"This is Madam Poppy Pomfrey, my adopted Aunt." Harry said. "She's the healer that helped train me and started Pansy on her training. She's also the head of this hospital."

"Sorry, ma'am." Jack said. "I'm not going to argue at a more experienced Doctor."

"Healer." Madam Pomfrey said. "Now, let me look at you." she said, pulling her wand.

"Is she using a magic wand?" Sam asked. Harry and his girls never seemed to do that.

"Not everyone has Harry and his girls' talents." Poppy said. "While I have learned a few tricks, I still find that the wand is more accurate for me. Now lay still." she instructed harshly. She soon had the rib fixed and healed the internal injuries. Then she left and came back with two vials of nearly clear, green liquid. "Drink that." she said, handing one to each Sam and Jack.

"What is it?" Jack asked.

"Better not to ask." Harry warned. "Potions seldom taste good and knowing what's in them never helps."

"Potion?" Sam asked, looking at the liquid, before opening the vial and smelling it. If the face she made was any indication, Harry suspected she wished she hadn't.

"It's to fix the damage you've accrued due to exposure." Madam Pomfrey said.

Jack opened his vial and drank it, like a good soldier. "I can't say I've tasted worse." he admitted, pulling a face. "Close, though." He soon felt a tingle as the magic potion started working on his nerves and helped him shed the last of the cold from his body. "Damn that feels good." he said, breathing a sigh of relief.

"No alcohol for the next day, and you'll be able to leave as soon as your friend drinks her potion." Madam Pomfrey said, looking at Sam, sternly.

"I don't think I need-" Sam started.

"Don't make her force you." Harry warned, as the Healer's eyebrow lifted at the woman. "She's taken an oath. To help you, she'd restrain you."

Sam looked between Harry and the woman, before finally sagging. After downing the potion, she shuddered. The feeling quickly countered her disgust, though. "Oh, that is better." Sam sighed. Her fingers had felt frost-bitten for a while. Now a gentle tingle made them feel alive again.

"You're free to go." Madam Pomfrey said, as she turned, quickly hugging Harry and leaving.

"She does good work." Jack said as he sat up, not feeling even the memory of the pain he'd been in for the last few hours.

"She's good." Harry agreed. "Why do you think I asked her to train me?"

"I get it." Jack said.

Harry's Comm rang, just then. "It's Daniel." he said, looking at the Comm, before realisation hit him. Daniel had been unconscious, last he'd heard. Since nobody but him could touch his Cell, he was likely only now waking up. He'd have thought the General would have called Remus, by now. He answered the call, though. "Hello Daniel. How are you feeling? Better I hope?"

"Were you able to find them?" Daniel started. "We don't even know where to begin."

"Hello-" Harry started again.

"Sorry, yes hello." Daniel said quickly, just trying to get back on subject.

Harry muted the Comm. "Now, the Stargate in Antarctica won't be there when your people go looking. I'll be needing it for some things I'll be doing. Besides that, you can tell him what you want." He unmuted the Comm and handed it to Jack.

"Doctor Jackson." Jack said.

"Oh, thank god." Daniel said. "He got them." Jack heard Daniel say to someone else. "Where were you?" he asked into his Cell again.

"I'm told it doesn't matter, since the Envoy will be taking the Stargate away from that location for testing purposes. We're safe and alive, though." Jack said.

"Sam?" Daniel asked.

"Even less beat up than I was." Jack said. He looked at Harry, then. "The Envoy says that he'll have us back home by tomorrow." Harry raised an eyebrow at that, but said nothing.

"I'll tell the General." Daniel said. "Tell the Envoy, the General sends his gratitude." he said, as General Hammond told him to do so.

"Will do." Jack said, before handing the Comm to Harry, who ended the call. "You don't mind do you?" he asked. "I thought we'd stick around, now that we had a moment. Maybe you and Carter can look at the Stargate together, figure out how to prevent something like this from happening again?"

Harry had to admit it was a good idea and nodded.

It took them only an hour to get the Stargate back to Mars, along with the DHD. They would be testing it using their own methods, to see if they could emulate the system and its controls. They had a whole lab set up by the time Harry returned with the ring and the DHD. There were many magicals in construction and the Goblins had an excavated cavern deep in the planet for them to set it up in. They'd purchased the land and dug, but found very little. Harry had happily bought it from them for this. It was a bit away from Harmony itself, since they didn't want to expose the town to possible threats.

"How quickly do your people work?" Sam asked, as she watched some of the scientists, stations already set up, starting to scan the Stargate with some tools she knew and some that was as alien to her as the Stargate itself. One person had on a set of glasses, with many focussing glasses in front of it, and he was cycling through them, sometimes using a combination of two, while he looked at the Stargate.

"Quick enough." Harry said proudly. "They've been wanting to study one of these for a while, and Percy had a team ready to call on the moment he heard."

"Percy?" Jack asked.

"He's Remus's PA." Harry said. "Very organised and prepared. He probably has protocols for when actual aliens start visiting us."

"Sounds like a useful guy." Jack agreed. Sam had already wandered off and was asking the man with the goggles what he was doing. The old man smiled at her and took the device off his head and offered it to her. She was excitedly looking through the goggles and cycling as the old man had.

"She'll be at it for hours." Harry predicted.

"What's those do?" Jack asked.

"They can see energy." Harry said. "Different kinds and in all the different fluctuations and frequencies."

"Useful." Jack said. "Why do you want to study this?" he asked. "You can go anywhere. Your technology is obviously better than the Stargate."

"Remember the planet, where Cassandra came from?" Harry asked.

"Yes." Jack said.

"Our form of travel is untested near Black Holes." Harry said. "I'd rather have a backup, should we ever need to go to such a place. There was a Ha'tak above the planet that I really wanted to blow up."

"I thought you were peaceful." Jack asked.

"If I gave you a button, and told you that it would destroy that ship, right now, would you not press it?" Harry asked.

"Oh, definitely." Jack said. "I just didn't think you were planning on getting that directly involved."

"Things have changed." Harry said. He indicated for the man to follow him and he took them back to the newly installed transport room, which would lead to and from Harmony, with guards posted on both sides. The wolves were already erecting wards to protect from anyone entering without permission, from either side.

When they arrived back in Harmony, Harry lifted them up and floated them over the large town, to a ridge overlooking it, just under the wards that protected it. He'd set up aversion charms and a ward or two to keep the place private for him. It's where he went to be alone.

"The situation with Cassandra changed things for me." Harry said. "I can't allow these creatures to continue as they have. You are neither capable, nor will your people allow you to take such a direct hand in things. I don't have that limitation, but I do have people who care about me, so there is a project underway to build a fleet of Prometheus-class ships, fully outfitted with weapons and all kinds of fun little tricks."

"You're preparing for war." Jack said.

"They've already declared war." Harry countered.

Jack nodded. He'd seen the signs before the Stargate program even started, after his initial trip, when they'd killed Ra. "You're not wrong." he said. "Any idea where you will start?" he asked.

"Before, we were monitoring your team, primarily. Now we've upped our staff and capabilities. You may have noticed a few reports starting to come in about miraculous recoveries and death-defying feats?" Harry asked.

"That was all you?" Jack asked.

"My people." Harry said. "Your people have guardian angels following them around now. Trigger-happy angels."

Jack smiled at that. "Not going to complain about that." he admitted. Then he frowned. "I don't think the general is going to like hearing that, though. What's to stop your people from deciding that they don't like us having a resource we discover?" he asked.

"Protocol, at this point, is information gathering and protecting the teams, as best as we can." Harry said. "Fortunately your other teams are mild in comparison to yours. How is it that you are always right in the centre of the action?" he asked.

"Lucky, I guess?" Jack smirked. "Listen, Harry. Sooner or later the General is going to catch onto the fact that you are more involved than just watching. He's not going to like hearing about it after the fact. Maybe we should open a line of direct communication between your people and him?"

"I don't know that that is a good idea, yet." Harry said. "If General Hammond starts telling his people that they have guardians, they'll start taking chances. I don't want that."

"What if he promises to not act on the information?" Jack asked.

"You can't promise that and you know it." Harry said. "The problem is one of knowledge. Knowing something always influences your actions. You may not even know it, but it tips the scale of your judgement. I don't want to be the reason for more of your people dying."

Jack saw the reasoning. Besides that, if the General was asked directly about it by a superior, he doubted the man would lie. He was very loyal and more incorruptible than anyone he had ever known. He was also a good man. Knowing that there was more he could do, would mean he'd do it. The Tollan, for example. He'd allowed Daniel to make the call, and had acted like he didn't know. It was the right thing to do, after all.

"I think you're underestimating the General." Jack said honestly.

Harry had to think about it. He conjured some chairs for them, along with some coffee. He knew Jack would probably prefer coffee, over tea, and that the hot beverage would likely be appreciated after his most recent ordeal. He sat down and took a sip while he looked out over the still expanding town. It had grown so quickly. The image he had of life coming to join him was quickly met and exceeded. While he'd seen bigger, he'd also not seen how much joy the people who joined him would experience. How much it would affect himself to help so many.

"It is quite beautiful, don't you think?" Harry asked.

"Yes." Jack said as he sat down. "It's not so much the people and all the magic though." he said. "For me, it's the possibilities that everything I can see represents. There are no sirens, no traffic lights and I've not heard anything but birds chirping, dogs barking and the children playing. How did you do it?" he asked.

"Magic makes things like that unnecessary." Harry said. "The cars sound like cars, on the inside, but they are silenced. People still watch movies and listen to music, but we don't hear it, because of specialized silencing charms."

"It's like when I took my kid fishing." Jack said.

"What do you mean?" Harry asked.

"Peace and quiet." Jack said. "Only natural sounds. Only, here you've got every necessity. How's crime?" he asked.

"There hasn't been any." Harry said. "There is no need. Only people that contribute come here. Children are taken care of by their parent or sent to day-care, depending on what they do. The primary school opened earlier this year, for kids who need to start attending."

"Teal'c's family?" Jack asked.

"Thriving." Harry said, with a fond smile. "Little Rya'c started Primary school recently. His mom was not sure what he was doing and the teacher allowed her to see what he was learning in class. He's struggling with the idea of letters, but he picked up on numbers rather quickly. Drey'auc still hasn't found her feet, but she's made some friends. I'm told it was quite an experience for Pansy, when she showed her the facilities in her house. Is indoor plumbing such a strange concept?"

Jack just shrugged. He'd not ever really thought about it. He'd seen similar, but he could understand the idea of feeling strange using alien facilities, which was how it must feel for the woman and her boy. "I'm sure Teal'c would have loved to see them sometime." he said.

Harry nodded and picked up his Comm. He called Daphne and asked her to arrange with Bill and Daniel, to pick them up, so that Teal'c could see his family. When he hung up, he put his Comm away and said, "That was a good idea. I've been meaning to get him to his family. Daniel could likely use a check-up at the hospital as well."

"What happened to him?" Jack asked.

"Oh, right." Harry said. "Yeah, when you two were thrown out in Antarctica, he and Teal'c were shot out at the SGC. They didn't land well and Daniel suffered a bit of a concussion. I had better things to do, as you may recall."

"Thanks." Jack said, realising he and Sam had taken priority. "How long do you think it will take for them to get here?" he asked.

"They're probably already here." Harry said. "We've got more than one way to transport people between the Earth and Mars. We've got a piece of tech setup in Texas, which works like a Tunnel. You enter one side there and exit it here."

"Like the Stargate?" Jack asked.

"Less bumpy, but the process is similar I suspect." Harry allowed. "It takes a whole room back and forth, and has a couple of fail-safes, in-case something interrupts the transport, like what happened with you today."

"So, better than the Stargate?" Jack asked.

"In some ways." Harry allowed. "We set up something similar between here and the Nox home world for some of our allies to use."

"Allies?" Jack asked.

"Dobby?" Harry asked.

When the little guy popped into existence, Jack almost fell out of his chair. "What the-" he started.

"Master calls?" Dobby asked, ignoring the man.

"Dobby is a magical house-elf." Harry interrupted. "His race has been enslaved to magicals for many generations. The Nox are helping a few of them break their conditioning and trying to do something about their reliance on magicals."

"Dobby is a free elf." Dobby said quickly. He didn't want another misunderstanding. "Dobby chooses to be Harry's friend and PA." he said. Harry had asked him to say PA, rather than Personal Astant, when he realised the elf was doing it on purpose. He still did it, when it wasn't around new people.

"Could you fetch Mister O'Neill and myself a couple of sandwiches?" Harry asked. "I suspect he's probably hungry by now." Jack was shocked again, as the elf disappeared and food soon appeared floating next to his seat. "Thanks, Dobby." Harry said.

"He's not a slave?" Jack asked, after the strangeness of the situation had mostly passed. He had taken the floating plate and taken a bite, realising suddenly that he was really hungry.

"He used to be. Harry said. "His old master was a bit on the irredeemably evil side, but I needed to trick him into giving me Dobby. Maybe I'll show you the recording sometime."

"You recorded it?" Jack asked.

"Everything I see and hear is recorded." Harry said. "You'd be surprised how useful that is."

"You don't record other people like that do you?" Jack asked.

"Only when they know about it." Harry assured him. "It's one of the laws of Harmony and one of the basic human rights. Privacy. I do it, because that way my girls can always know what's going on, since they worry. I think they started giving me space during the day, this last year, since I'd started feeling a bit crowded."

"Where is your bodyguard?" Jack asked, in realisation, as he finished his sandwich. He eyed Harry's sandwich, only for another to appear on his plate. "Thanks, Bobby." he said.

"It's Dobby, sir." Dobby said as he appeared again. "You are welcome." Then he disappeared again.

"He always knows when you talk about him?" Jack asked.

"He's bonded to me, so yes." Harry said. "It's kind of like a symbiotic relationship. He helps me with things I need doing and he gets power from me to do his magical stuff. Without magicals, House Elves would die." Then he remembered the first question. "And Cooper is keeping watch from another location. This is my private space."

"I'm surprised he lets you out of his sight at all." Jack said.

"He's the only other person with access to see what I see and hear." Harry said. "If I couldn't take a break from people, I'd likely go insane. You wouldn't believe how big my family is."

"With eight girlfriends, that's no surprise." Jack said, smirking at the young man, taking another bite of the sandwich. "This is really good." he complimented. He half expected the elf to appear again, but he seemed content to stay invisible, or whatever happened when he wasn't there.

"Dobby knows his way around food." Harry said. "I taught him a trick or two myself. He taught me more, when it comes to cooking at least."

When Jack finished the second sandwich, he placed his plate on the ground, only for it to vanish. "About General Hammond." Jack said.

"I'll have to think about it." Harry said. "I've heard you and I know what you're saying, but I'll have to confer with people wiser than myself. This isn't just my decision. Remus is the Alpha. He needs a say in this as well."

"Alpha?" Jack asked. "Is he a wolf, too?"

"He's the leader of the pack." Harry said. "Lieutenant-Colonel Remus Lupin. Alpha Wolf Knight. Sounds cool when you know it all, doesn't it?" he asked, smiling at Jack.

Jack nodded, deciding to drop the subject, since Harry was obviously not going to allow that anymore. He looked out over the town, and saw a few flashing lights. "Is that a Club?" he asked.

"The first and only Strip-club on Harmony." Harry said with a smirk.

"Strip-club?" Jack asked, eyes going wide.

"The Veela love the attention." Harry said.

"Veela?" Jack asked.

"You remember Fleur?" Harry asked.

Jack remembered meeting her once and her using her power on him, as well as having heard the story from when Hathor had taken over the SGC. He didn't remember much, but he'd been told by a few who did, that Harry's girlfriend had completely dominated the situation. Some still referred to her as the 'Beautiful Angel' that rescued them. "She's not human?" he asked.

"She's got an ancestry with specialised capabilities." Harry said. "She's human, until you piss her off."

"What happens then?" Jack asked.

"If you piss one off, you'll understand." Harry said. "If that happens… run. I would."

Jack's eyebrows almost disappeared into his hairline at that. Something Harry would run from, would probably break lesser men. Still, a strip-club with creatures as beautiful as the girl he'd only spoken to once. "Is there any chance…" he started. Harry just chuckled and got up. Jack stood up too and suddenly they were flying to where he'd seen the lights.

Harry handed him a card and told him to have someone call him a carpet when he was done. "No more than two thousand credits for the night. That's enough to get a magical plastered and get you a few lap-dances and whatever you do, don't tell Aunty Poppy I said you could have a drink." Harry had warned, before he flew off to go see what the progress was on the Stargate.

He was not surprised to find Daniel walking excitedly around asking questions about what they had discovered, with Doctor Samantha Carter standing with Doctor Samantha Pike who had apparently drawn a blueprint of the thing, with blank spots here and there, which indicated spots their scans couldn't penetrate safely, to protect anything sensitive anyway.

There was a different team investigating the DHD. Harry really hoped that they succeeded in finding out how the things worked, so that he could start on another project. He'd called dibs, when he delivered the devices. He'd use their findings and tinker until he had it down. He went to them, and started his own investigation.
