After opening my eyes, I found myself in the same room where I held the ritual. And after going through everything that happened, I was feeling the ecstasy.
Shinji: "NO! I should stop. If I let my emotions fluctuate so often without control it will be led to my demise. I should control myself and I should look at things objectively. I am still in the body of 8 years old boy without power to protect myself.
After I forcefully stopped my euphoria I started to move. It took a whole week to collect all ingredients necessary for the Reader potion. It took me almost an hour to stabilize myself after I consumed the potion. My way of staying safe from looking to the things that I should not look at and should not hear I start to concentrate on the rows of mathematical equations. Quite different from Klein Moretti the protagonist of Lord of The Mysteries. And to activate my spirit vision I do not need to do anything to my glabella instead crack my fingers like Kaneki, the habit that I shockingly found in the memories of little Sinji. I did not gain any abilities from the potions other than an increase in my spirituality and ability to process and understand new information. Actually, there will be no improvement in my combat abilities before I reach sequence 7. There also should have been an improvement in my memory but I already have a perfect memory so nothing changed here. But who cares, now I can use magic. And actually, I found the first principle of acting as a reader while practicing magic. You should not only learn new things through reading but also have to practice it. What acting you say. Simple you can't consume the next potion unless you fully digested the potion that you drunk previously. It usually takes around 3 years for sequence 9 potions to digest. However, you may accelerate the potion digestion by acting according to its name. And how I acted as a reader, simply spent the majority of my time reading any book I can get and testing on practice the things I learned from books though magicraft practice, and various chemistry and physics experiments for the kids. The sheer amount of the book that I read showed me the next important principle of acting as a reader you should compare sources. I have read two books that had conflicting info, so I had to search for the answer in other sources until you find the truth. This method had one drawback unfortunately, it burned money. So much so that in the last week before potion digestion was seriously considered save money on food, thankfully it took only a month for me to digest a potion. However, my luck with sequence 8 Reasoning Student potion was not so good. I couldn't think a way how to properly act to both of those words So I tried to act to both of them separately. I acted as a student through being one, I was already attending school, but in order to increase the time of my acting I have enlisted into a number of various courses anything from basic martial arts to drawing anything that would not be suspicious for 8 years old to attend. And for the reasoning part let's say that my nonmagical reading focus shifted from natural sciences and engineering to books on logic and detective novels. However, that was a big mistake. When acting you should always consider the full name of the potion. Unfortunately, despite major improvement to my logical thinking bought by the potion, it took me too long to understand that and as a consequence of it took almost all of the remaining academic year for me to digest it. And now I have only one week left before my return to Fuyuki. So now I am concocting the next potion sequence 7 Detective.
???: You are sweating more than usual are you nervous?
Shinji: Yes, Bast. Both of my previous potions improved my intellectual abilities and the amount of Od I had. But now the Detective potion will also improve my physical abilities too, and now when I am going to return back to Matou residence risks are increasing.
Bast: But don't we have a plan?
Shinji: Yes girl, we have. "Bast, my one and only companion that knows about my past life. Who is Bast? She is my cat, or to be a more specific kitten. In the Lord of the Mysteries, the animals too were able to become beyonder. The only issue is that due to their lower intelligence they are more prone to lose control and turn into a monster after consumption of potion. Thankfully, the probability of Bast's losing control is approximately the same as mine due to her being beyonder of spectator pathway the most stable of 22 pathways. Furthermore, on higher sequences, they can function as supernatural psychiatrists that can help other beyonders to not go mad. So, I thought it is a good idea to have one as your ally. Thankfully the Spectator pathway is one of few pathways whose potion formulas and rituals are revealed all the way to sequence 4 demigod level and there is even some information about higher sequences mentioned. So, all that left for me is to find an animal that could become a spectator and the ingredients needed for a potion or their modern counterparts."
And then while petting my cat with one hand, I drunk a potion that I just concocted.
The wave of heat traveled across my body after I finished drinking the potion and then nice cool sensation as if I have just come out of the spa made me relax after.
Bast: So how it is?
Shinji: It feels great. My Od just doubled and on top of the increase in intelligence and clarity of thinking to which I have already become used after previous potions, I clearly felt power across my body.
After some testing, it becomes clear that my physical capabilities, my speed, strength, stamina are all on the peak of human capabilities or just a little short of them. My Od levels reached an astronomical value of 300. It may be still less then Rin and her 500 that she reaches in her adulthood but it is still 12 times more than 25 the average value for the matured magus. Furthermore, I still did not fully digest the potion and when I do so the amount of my Od should increase by 50 percent. Obliviously such high outputs of magical energy will make me a target for the experiments of any normal magus that sees me. So, I created the mystic code 'The pendant of Secrets" how I named it, in order to hide my Od. I created it from beoynder characteristics of seer and spectator pathway using both knowledge of modern magicraft as well as methods of creating talismans shown in LOTM. It has two functions. First, it hides my Od level showing them it be 50 the amount the I got from digesting Reader potion, and the second it makes everyone ignore the existence of pendant, so nobody will suspect it. What is beoynder characteristic? Simple, you see beyonder power are indestructible in nature so when beyounder dies his power either materializes as beoynder characteristics that can be used as main potion ingredient for the potion of the same level and pathway as beyonder that produced it or as an artifact with various supernatural abilities resembling ones that beoynder that produced it had. You see Bast Is not the first animal that I tied to turn into beyonder. Unfortunately, the previous two lost control and I was forced to kill them before they turned into monsters. Thankfully I always was cautious with full procedure and every one of them drunk potion inside the magical barrier that does not let pass anything other than light and sound. Even air would not pass and when animals started to lose control, I would just release poisonous gas from containers inside of the barrier.
Bast: Stop dozing off. Our plane is coming and I don't want my imprisonment to be in vain.
As you may have guessed I am currently waiting for my plane. That will take me and Bast back to Fuyuki. And Bast is little unhappy with her being forced into an animal cage
