Igodomigodo Is Our Land (Part 1)

Back at a kingdom,

Things were going on smoothly. There had been relative peace, and the mood of the citizens of the kingdom was still noticeably joyous, from the lingering event of the gifting of the three prince, by the Gods, to the land.

Although, it had been five years since the birth of the princes, the land had experienced much gains and flourish.

The rains had graced the farmlands and nurtured the flowers and plants to bloom and fruit. Lustrous evegreens, scattered the lands, and pervaded the air to besiege the nostrils with the soothing fragrance of herbs and ripening fruits and an abundance of oxygen. Accomplishing the heart with joy and excitement, when the warm, and comforting sunlight plastered the face upon the sight of Aurora.

Although, the entire nation had been particularly peaceful and thriving, the palace had been segued with smoldering fued and callous thoughts.

Jealous air had evaded the every breath of a few Aggrieved, and sly thoughts of supplant and vengeance had escaped the whispering mouth of a few gossips.

in the period of three years, a series of events and activities had helped to goad and pit several royal forces against another.

During some of those years, many noble and unsuspecting men and women had been dragged into the palace wrangle. Although no major palace elite had been roped–in, several palace retinue, maids and other low ranking chiefs had been punished, imprisoned or given to the headsman, based on their level of involvement in an extracurricular episode.

of course there was an aptness for proclivity in judgment, since all those senior member of the palace always got venerated after every brawl.

A perfect example, was when one of the young prince; prince Ogidigbo. The son of oloi (queen) Esagho had been attacked and almost killed in a forbidden forest.

Apparently, some masked unknown lady had promised to gift numerous goodies to the prince. However, he first had to collect some leaves from a common plant from a forbidden forest. Although the plant was common, the lady had instructed the prince in his dreams; that he had to collect only, the leaves of a plant in that forest. Thus, the next day, the prince and a few strongmen, marched into the forbidden forest, adamant against the request of his protector not to go there and instead collect the leaves from a nearby bush.

At the end, even though the search party only got to the entrance of the forest, they were attacked by some derelict creatures and the prince was seriously injured.

when the news of the prince's misfortune got to the palace, of course the guard in charge of the prince's protection, even though he had cautioned the young prince against going to the forest, and lost an arm when he fought valiantly against those derelict creatures, to protect the prince, he was sentence to death along with his four subordinates.

The mysterious masked woman in the prince's dream, remained unknown. Even though some people were convinced, and had secretly pointed accusing finger at the second queen, Idia as the orchestrator of the of the evil plan, she was not summoned and the palace did not investigate the matter further. Moreover, the adamant and repugnant prince wasn't even punished when he recovered his health.
