Yue just finished giving Alex his fourth serving of cake when a knock was heard on the door. The boy tilted his head to the side and gazed at the door. He could sense his Master's presence and knew that Abbie had come to check up on him.
The smile on Yue's face disappeared and her cool and aloof expression returned. The Dorm Head sighed internally because her 'fun time' was over.
"Come in," Yue said in a cold tone.
Abbie opened the door and gave Yue Ying a smile. "Thank you Dorm Head for taking care of Alex. Someone is coming to pick us up and she said that she was already on her way."
"She?" Yue asked. Her eyes suddenly had a hint of excitement. "Is she perhaps Alex's mother?"
Yue wanted to meet Alex's parents. She wanted to give them a good impression and hopefully worm her way inside their hearts. That way, when she asked for Alex's hand for marriage in the future, they would gladly give their approval. This young lady was serious in her cradle snatching plan!
"No, it is only an acquaintance of ours," Abbie replied while waving her hand to show that the Dorm Head's guess was wrong. She then turned her attention to Alex. "Alex, Alice is on her way. She will be arriving soon, so let's meet her at the dormitory gate."
"Yes, Master."
"Master?" Yue narrowed her eyes. Her cold gaze landed on Abbie. The chubby girl suddenly felt a chill run down her spine. 'Is she treating my Alex like a servant?'
Yue Ying has one-sidedly labeled Alex as her future boyfriend. She would not allow anyone to treat him as a subordinate.
"Ah! Alex, you should stop calling me, Master," Abbie said as she gestured for the boy to come close to her. "I stopped playing role-playing games a long time ago, so you should also stop calling me Master."
'So Alex liked to roleplay?' Yue pondered. She made a mental note to do an intensive research about role-playing after she sent off Alex. Since he has this kind of hobby, it would be best to have the same hobby as him. Yue praised herself for being an understanding future girlfriend. As long as Alex liked it, she would do her best to grant his wishes.
"Understood, Master."
"Hah~ I just told you to not call me that."
"I will try, Master."
"There you go again!"
Yue watched the two converse and felt envious. The expression on Alex's face when talking to Abbie was filled with respect and tenderness. It was very different to how he interacted with her. Although Alex treated her well and spoke to her politely, there was still a sense of distance. Her heart ached and a feeling of rivalry emerged.
Yes! Just as she labeled Alex as her future boyfriend, Yue also labeled Abbie as her love rival. Well, technically, she was not wrong. However, Alex's feelings for Abbie were still one-sided at this point in time. The chubby girl treated Alex like a little brother that she needed to take care of. This feeling was closer to 'family' than a romantic relationship.
No one could blame Abbie for feeling this way. After all, Alex was still eight years old. She was not a shotacon unlike a certain lady named Alice and a Dorm Head that was slowly being converted to join the 'Viva Shota!' religion.
"Big Sister, I'll be going now." Alex waved his hand to say goodbye.
"Mmm, be good and stay safe," Yue replied and waved back. Her face was still sporting her usual cold expression. Abbie said her goodbyes as well and left the room with Alex.
The moment the door closed, Yue felt that a part of her heart had closed as well. She gazed at the dishes that she cooked for Alex and all of them were almost gone. Only half remained of the chocolate cake that she baked.
Yue casually took a slice to taste it.
"A bit salty, I guess I added too much salt," Yue murmured. "Next time, instead of putting one cup of salt, I'll just use half a cup. I need to improve my cooking and baking for Alex's sake."
------
"Um, Alex, are you feeling well? " Abbie asked the young boy walking beside her with concern. She casually asked what he ate for breakfast and Alex told her that he ate Yue Ying's cooking. Abbie almost choked on her saliva after hearing the boy's revelation.
Yue Ying's cooking was notorious not only in the dormitory, but inside the campus as well. Many individuals had been tempted to taste her cooking because it looked delicious at first glance. All of them regretted their decision, but it was too late.
Those who dared to eat her cooking dropped to the ground with foam coming out of their mouths. Most of these were boys that had a hidden crush on her. Some of Yue Ying's 'victims' even attested that they met God during their near death experience.
The reason why so many boys threw caution to the wind was because there was a time when the Dean forced Yue Ying to participate in the school's beauty contest. Everyone was flabbergasted when Yue Ying entered the stage wearing a red dress that highlighted her curvaceous figure.
Her long and silky black hair was properly tied and adorned with a phoenix hairpin which made her look like a celestial that descended from the heavens.
It only happened once, but almost all the boys in the school became smitten with her. To this day, she was the uncrowned empress that held the title of the most beautiful girl on campus.
The students who almost dropped dead from their bravery caused great concern among the Parent's association. Because of this, the Dean was forced to make an announcement forbidding anyone to touch Yue Ying's cooked foods. Those who broke this rule would be suspended for a week!
She even personally told her niece in private to stop letting other people try her cooking because it was not fit for human consumption! The students took the harsh punishment seriously and the number of 'casualties' became zero.
Abbie was very concerned about Alex's well being that she almost dragged the boy towards the infirmary. She was hoping that they still had some stock for strong stomach medicines that would help the little boy survive Yue Ying's deadly cooking.
"Master, I'm fine," Alex reassured her. "Big Sister's cooking was delicious. I'd like to eat more of it in the future."
"A-Are you sure? Be honest with me, are you hurting somewhere?" Abbie cupped the side of Alex's face with her hands. She gazed intently at his beautiful eyes and tried to discern whether he was lying.
"Un! Nothing's wrong. I'm perfectly fine."
"Well, if you say so."
Abbie was still half in doubt. Alex has no reason to lie to her. If he said that Yue Ying's cooking was delicious, then it must be true. She didn't personally taste her Dorm Head's cooking and only heard the rumors.
She had no time to dwell too deeply on the subject because she heard a car horn sound beside the gates of the dormitory which signalled that Alice had arrived.
