Opportunity To Dance With Her Prince

After Alex's very cheesy song, the performers that the resort had hired for their entertainment wowed them with their amazing skills. Abbie and Alex clapped alongside the crowd as they enjoyed the show provided by their variety of talents.

"Who's your favorite among them?" Alex asked. He was curious which performance Abbie liked the most.

"My favorite is sitting beside me right now," Abbie answered with a smile. "Everyone else takes second place."

Alex felt something warm spreading inside his chest as he looked at Abbie with an affectionate gaze. "Abbie, you're the best."

"I know."

"Then do you know what I'm thinking right now?"

Abbie glanced at the smiling Alex beside her. She could see the mischief twinkling in his eyes and it made her heart flutter. She playfully pounded Alex's shoulder with her closed fist out of embarrassment.

"Not now. Later, ok?"

"Alright, I'll wait."

The two didn't know that someone was painfully watching their public display of affection. Hannah dug her nails into her palms as she saw how happy Abbie was. She was thinking that, if Alex had met her first then he wouldn't even bother giving Abbie a second glance.

Britney noticed Hannah's bloody gaze and felt that she had discovered a big scoop. She averted her gaze immediately and pretended that she didn't see anything. The pretty girl had seen a lot of things in her life. Some of them were fine, but some were just downright ugly.

She recognized the gaze that Hannah was giving Alex and Abbie. It was the gaze of a home-wrecker.

'I-I could be just imagining things,' Britney thought as she tried to use reason. 'Unless there is evidence, I can't blatantly spread a rumor like this.'

Britney may be a gossipy girl, but she had her bottom line. As long as what she was spreading was the truth, she could raise her head high without shame. However, if it was falsified information then she would never bother with it. After all, doing something like that was never her thing.

'I'll observe for now.' Britney gave Hannah a sidelong glance before shifting her attention to Alex and Abbie. 'It won't be too late to warn Abbie once I get some proof.'

While Britney was deep in thought, the last performer left the stage. The manager who had been overseeing the event walked up to the stage and announced the next phase of the party.

"It's time for the main event. The ballroom is now open to everyone." The manager chuckled. "Gentlemen, it's time to dance with the ladies. As for the ladies, whether you accept their invitation or not is your choice. Don't worry! If you don't have a dance partner, I am very available!"

The crowd laughed and clapped their hands at the manager's clever speech. After the manager left the stage, Alex stood up from his seat and offered his hand to Abbie.

"My lady, will you do me the honor of this dance?"

"Can you dance?"

"I can manage."

"Very well, Cowboy." Abbie's lips curled up into a smile. "Let's see how well you dance."

Alex firmly gripped her hand and led her to the middle of the dance floor. The students were still hesitating whether they should dance or not. However, when they saw Alex and Abbie take the lead, their embarrassment decreased a bit and finally decided to take their partners to the dance floor as well.

The Forever Alone Club and the Singles Society watched with bitter tears as the couples took center stage. Hannah was biting her lip when she saw Alex take Abbie out for a dance. She planned to ask Alex for a dance earlier, but Alex was faster than her.

She could only watch helplessly as the two walked hand in hand together. She didn't notice that someone had approached her from the side with the intention of asking her for a dance.

"My lady, would you like to dance with me?" Adam asked. He was wearing a black suit with a bow tie and looked very dashing tonight.

Hannah absentmindedly turned her head to look at the man who asked her to dance. She gave Alex a brief glance before nodding her head.

"It's my pleasure to dance with you, Senior," Hannah replied with a smile.

Adam held her hand and the two of them approached the couples who were already on the dance floor. Adam was very popular inside the university, so when he appeared with Hannah the students stirred. In time, whispers sounded at the side of the dance floor, but it was drowned down by the music of the chamber orchestra.

"Hoh~ you dance well," Abbie said as she danced with Alex. "Who taught you how to dance?"

"Big Sister Alice gave me a dance potion earlier. Its effects last for four hours." Alex admitted with a carefree smile.

"Such a potion exists? Wow, just wow." Abbie was pleasantly surprised on how powerful the Potion Shop was. She was now having doubts about the true potency of the Love Potion. Where it held such an astronomical price, was it really as potent as the other potions in the Potion Shop's inventory?

Abbie shuddered at the thought of another woman using the Love Potion to ensnare Alex. If that happened then she would fight tooth and nail to murder the b*tch that dared to lay her hand on her future hubby!

Hannah perked her ears up to listen to Alex's and Abbie's conversation, but she couldn't hear them from where she was dancing. She lightly guided Adam to move closer to her target. Adam was a good dancer, so he noticed Hannah's intention.

He thought that his beautiful dance partner was interesting so he allowed her to guide him as she pleased. Not long after, the two pair of dance partners were dancing side by side. This caught the attention of everyone and they couldn't help but compare the two.

On one side, the prince of the university was dancing with the second most beautiful girl in the rankings. On the other was a "real prince" and his partner was the kung-fu panda girl who was dressed like a princess.

The students were leaning more towards their university prince and Hannah, but they had to admit that Abbie in her dress gave them a pleasant surprise as well.

'If only she was slimmer.'

This was the collective thought of everyone watching the two couples dance.

Abbie and Alex also noticed the two people who slowly made their way towards them. The two gave each other a glance and silently agreed not to talk about anything related to the game. When the music ended, Hannah was about to ask Alex if she could dance with him when the red-head's hand was grabbed by another blonde beauty.

"Your Highness, would you like to dance with me?" Alice asked. She didn't wait for Alex's reply as she placed her hand on his shoulder.

Before Abbie was able to say anything, her hand was also gripped by another man. Naturally, the one who held her hand was Aiden and the elf gave Abbie a wink as if telling her to "Just play along for now."

The two could only resign themselves and allow their new dance partners to dance with them. A bold man with above average features walked towards Hannah and asked her to dance. Hannah quickly recovered from her disappointment and politely turned the boy down.

She didn't mind dancing with Adam because she had been interested in him for quite some time. However, she had no interest in dancing with anyone else aside from Alex. She vowed that before the night was over, she would secure an opportunity to dance with her prince!
