Chapter 9

"Morning Harry!", Charlie greetes me, "Do you want to grab some food?"

"Sure!"

I'm always happy to hang out with this woman. She is friendly amd funny even when she's a little cold around others, but I think that's cute.

"How did you sleep?", she asks me and thows her hair back. It was black and at the bottom coloured violet.

The messhall is as full as usual. We grab some food and go on one of the balconies next to the mess.

"It's really beatiful out here...", Charlie says.

I raise an eyebrow.

"Erm...I mean...I think that everytime I get a look at the city, you know? It's always..."

"Beautiful?"

"Yes...", She smiles and bites into an ugiyla. It's a pink fruit that looks like a pink apple. It tastes a little sour, but I think that's nice.

We found it four years ago on a planet called Xilon. The Xilons are really nice and we are really happy to count them to our friends and trading partners.

"How's the situation in the council?", I ask after a while.

"Hm...well, Mayor Emmagan is a strong leader, but I think you knew that already. She knows how to get other people to agree with her. Liam Kavanaugh is always concerned about the wellbeing of Atlantis, Earth, Athos and our allies. That makes it sometimes harder to find out new things because they might be dangerous..."

"But I think he's right at that. You never know what could come through the gate."

"That's right. To be honest, I mistly agree with him. My brother does too."

"That fits you two. Always so concerned", I laugh a little, "And how are Jason and Nathan?"

"Oh, right! I wanted to tell you. Their marriage is in a week and they invite their family, friends and the whole council...I...wanted to ask you if you wanted to go there with me?"

"You mean like a date?", I ask teasing and grin when she blushes.

"You know what? Yes. I'd like to have a date with you! Now yes or no?", she looks at me challenging.

Now it's my turn to stare and go red.

"Sure!", I say a little too enthusiastically.

Now she smiles like a little kid who's just gotten a bonbon.

"Nice!"

She stands up and hops inside.

'She really just hopped...', I thought, shaking my head,'She's an adult...'

-----------------------------------------

I walk down the corridor. The blue coat, which is part of the lantean clothing, floats behind me.

Every inhibitor of Atlantis has his or her own tone of blue and some are longer then other. I like mine pretty much.

It's a dark, nearly black, blue. Sometimes it looks like it was glittering.

Mayor Emmagan was asking me to being my neighbour her own coat. It's surprisingly dark red, as her shirt. Only her pants are grey.

I knock at Elizabeth Weir's door. A few seconds later she opens.

"Oh, Jack! Is some-Is that for me?", She asks looking at the red clothes in my hands.

"Ideed. H...how did you know?", I ask confused.

"First", she says holding up a finger,"Why should you knock at my door with clothes in your hand? Second", a second finger follows,"The clothes are red, what is first, my favourite color and second, none here wears red. Everyone wears blue here."

"Erm...right. Here", I give her the clothes,"Three full outfits. We will bring you more as soon as we can."

"Thanks! Erm...would you mind to come in? I'd like to have someone to talk to and all I really know here are you, Ella and Dahlia."

"Sure!", I say and follow her inside.

"Take a seet", Elizabeth says pointing to the chair at her desk.

I sit down...on her desk. Elizabeth smiles at that.

"What's so funny?", I ask when I realise her smile.

"Nothing...It's just, that the one I told you about, John Sheppard, always used to sit onto my desk even if I was having a couch and five chairs in my office."

I grin and ask:"And it didn't annoy you?"

"Well, first it did, but then...not more."

"So, I can stay here", I ask, pointing down.

"If you want."

"Thank you. So now, what did you want to talk about?"

"Oh right! I got my memories back and it was so much I had to go to Dr. Jasons. I tlld him that I probably descended and he asked me how I died. That got up...a lot of bad memories", she sighs.

"That has to be terrible. To have memories of your death..."

Elizabeth nods.

"Yes..."

"And why did you flee my quaters yesterday?"

"I had searched someething, anything to get back my memories, but that wasn't necessary. I got them back all of a sudden. All at once..."

"How?"

"I don't know...I...I know that might sound crazy, but I hear this voice in my head. And a melody. I isn't a melody as you know it. I hear the energy in the city, the waves crashing against its walls and piers. I hear the voices of every person in the city. No voice is clear. They swim together. I hear all at once and it follows a melody and sometimes it changes. It's somehow....the melody of Atlantis."

"Wait a minute, did you say voice?"

"Yes...I knew it was-"

"No", I hold up a hand,"Tell me. My father always told me:'No matter how stupid something sounds, everything has a meaning.' "

"First it was just the voice of a young man. It was just annoying. But in you quaters...he wanted me to react to him and I found myself on the balcony...I saw him. He looked strange. Silver, long hair. Blue eyes which look like whater. A blue coat... He said his name was...was...Atlantis. He gave me back my memories."

"Atlantis?"

Suddenly Elizabeth looks around as if she hears something.

"What?

"I hear him again."

"What does he say?"

"He says that every male in your family has such disgusting...hair."

I can't help but smile at that.

"That's true."

"You don't think I'm crazy?"

"I'm open for much. And why shouldn't Atlantis have a voice and a soul?"

"Yeah I like you!"

I smile.

"Yeah, why shouldn't he have a soul?"
