Chapter 5: Help

Angel's POV:

I woke up to my alarm ringing. I turned over to turn it off. I sat up and looked around. There was a certain smell in the air. Is that weed? You know it is. I rolled my eyes. I got up and took my bath. Just once, I would like to wake up to a home cook breakfast, a mother to say "Good morning, did you rest easy?" And not a messed up house with an alcoholic & drug addict mother. Watch it May. I'm just saying. By the way, when are we moving? When I make enough money to move.

I already have the perfect house to move into. I just need $4500 to finally move in. Meaning we have and extra few years of hell to make it happen. Yeah. I got out and got dressed. I walked over to Tasha's room. She's already dressed. She was sitting on her bed, toying with her bracelet. The bracelet dad got her for her 6th birthday.

"Hey Tasha. What's wrong?" I asked her. She looked up at me with tears in her eyes. She lifted up her shirt and pointed to her side. She has a big blue bruise on it. "Tasha, did mama do that?" I asked her. She nodded her head. "Last night. I wanted water and she saw me up. And... And she hit me." She said. She broke down crying. She hugged me. I shook my head. That's it. We're leaving today. Where are we gonna go? Anywhere but here. I looked in the corner of her room. I noticed she had her bags packed.

"Tasha did you already pack your bags last night?" I asked. She nodded. "I was going to run away, but I wanted you to come with me." She said. I smiled. "That's my little sister." I said. I made her grab her bags and took them to the car. I packed mines, everything I had, and took it to the car. On the way out, I looked at my mama. She was with some guys, smoking and laughing. One of them looked at me and smiled. I turned away and walked out.

"Okay, Tasha. We're leaving today. I saved up but I still need more money in order to get the place we want. But right now, we need to get away from that house. So we're gonna go somewhere else to live until we get our house." I explained, as I drove her to school. "Okay, but where are we going?" She asked. I thought about it. "We're going to Mr. & Mrs. Graves house to stay in. I'm gonna ask them if we can live there, just until we get our new house. You go to school and I'll take care of the rest." I said. She said okay and ran out the car into the school.

I pulled off and checked the time. 7:40. Okay, I've got time, but I gotta make it fast. I quickly drove to the library. I walked in the building. "Angel? What are you doing here? Don't you have school?" Mr. Graves asked. "Yes sir, which is why I have to make this fast." I said quickly. Mrs. Graves walked up to me. "You can stay here. We know everything." She said. I stared at her. "I'm a Seer, remember?" She said. "It slips my mind from time to time." I said. I hugged her. "It'll be nice to have you and ya sister around her." Mr. Graves said. "Just bring you're bags in and you head on to school." He said.

I ran outside and brought all our bags in. I thanked them, ran outside and drove off to school. That was easy. I know right. I pulled up and got out. I ran to get breakfast but noticed the clock on the wall. I had five minutes. I quickly grabbed my breakfast and ran to my first class. I got there just as the bell rung. I walked to my seat and sat down out of breath. "There you are. I was wondering where you were. Why are you out of breath?" Asked Kacey.

I quickly told her everything then ate my breakfast. "Oh you didn't have to do that. You could stay with me." She said, excitedly. I stared at her funny. "I mean its what friends are for right? Unless we're not friends?" She asked, sorrowful. "No no we are friends. Its just... We just met and this is my little sister. And I want the best for her." I said. She nodded. "But Angel, o know I seem like a stranger, but trust me. I wanna help you and your sister. I know that your uncomfortable with a stranger friend, but I'm not gonna hurt you or your sister. I just want to be close friends. Best friends even." She said.

I thought about it. "Kacey, please. I'm sorry but I can't. But I hope this affect our friendship. I really like you Kacey and I don't want to lose you as a friend. But I want to keep my sister safe. I'm not saying that I don't trust you, but I'm concerned about my sister. I want her to be safe. When I make enough money, we're going to move to a better place, with a better neighborhood. I'm really sorry." I said, as I held her hands.

She grew pale, and her eye color turned pink. Uh oh. 'Uh oh' is right. You never piss off a witch or a vampire. I already pissed off a vampire. And I think you just pissed off a witch. Kacey closed her eyes then opened them. They were their normal blue color. "I understand." She said then turned to face the front of the room. I stared at her. I didn't want to lose her as a friend. I really connect with her. I grabbed her hand. She looked at me. "Kacey, are we still on for this weekend?" I asked her. She nodded.

I smiled and took my notes. The bell rung and we walked to our next class. I looked around and saw Kevin. He was on his phone. His caretakers behind and in front of him. They looked like security guards from how they were positioned. Kevin must've felt my gaze because he looked up and saw me. I gave a small wave and he smiles and gave one back. Maybe I got another new friend? Maybe. I walked with Kacey to our next class, along with Kevin.

He seemed to be in a better mood from last time I saw him. Today, instead of sitting in the back, he sat across from me. I smiled. I looked over at Kacey and seen her looking pissed. Her eyes weren't pink, but she was definitely pissed about something. I reached over to her and placed my hand on her arm. She tensed up. "Kacey, you good?" I asked. She smiled and nodded. But her eyes and body language said otherwise. I turned back to the front of the room. Out the corner of my eye, I seen Kevin staring at me. He looked pissed too.

Why is everyone so mad for? Maybe its something in the air. Throughout the whole class, they both tensed up and calmed down then went right back to being pissed. We partnered up with each other for a class project. They didn't look at each other or even talked to one another. I was mad confused. I was the only one they'd talked to. Then suddenly I felt suffocated. I felt light headed and felt like I was gonna throw up. I didn't like it. I put my head down on the table. Kevin put his hand on my back. "Angel, are you okay?" He asked. I shook my head because I knew if I said anything, I'd throw up.

Then Kacey wrapped her arms around me. "Angel, come on baby. I'm taking you to the nurse. Um excuse me, Mr. Spencer? Angel isn't feeling well. I'm taking her to the nurse." She said. I heard a low growl but I was too sick to care where it came from. "I'm going too. To make sure she doesn't faint or anything. I don't think you could carry her." Kevin said. I heard another low growl. He was right. I felt too light headed. My knees buckled and I fell to the ground.

"Angel!!" They both cried. Kevin picked me up bridal style and carried me to the nurse's office. I closed my eyes. I couldn't deal with this. "You know I could carry her right?" Kacey asked. "You would've just dropped her." He said. Are they fighting about me? "Oh please. I would never drop her, you bloodsucking parasite." Kacey said. "Yes you would. You're not strong enough to carry her like I can, you demonic witch." He said. What the hell is happening? I tried to speak, but I couldn't. I felt like my voice was gone.

I felt tired and drowsiness take over. "You psychotic, suicidal, parasite!!" Kacey screamed. "Look here, witch!!" Kevin shouted. I finally found my house. "Enough!! Both of you!!" I screamed. I opened my eyes and they were staring at me. I gained enough strength to sit up. "Why are you two fighting? Are you guys exes or something?" I asked. "Hell no!!" They both said. "Then what's the problem?" I asked. Kacey said,"Witches and vampires DON'T get along. Just like werewolves and vampires don't get along." She glared at him.

"But both species are incredibly powerful. Don't powerful species, join forces to become even more powerful?" I asked, curiously. "No, we don't. Besides, everyone knows we're not allowed to cross breed. Its against the magic law. We just don't like each other. Period." Kevin said, glaring at her. "Ditto, parasite." She said. "Piss off, bitch." He said. "Stop it!!" I said. I closed my eyes. I opened them to see them and the caretakers staring at me.

I squirmed out of Kevin's arms and walked to the nurse's office but stopped. I suddenly felt a lot better. I turned to look at them. "Thanks for taking me here, I'm feeling better. Let's get back to class and forget about this." I said. Kacey glared at Kevin one last time before walking off. I waited till she was out of earshot to talk to him. "Seriously dude, what is up with y'all? Are y'all exes or what?" I asked. "I just told you. No we're not. I just really don't like witches." He said.

"There's gotta be a better reason than that. If you like her, man go for it." I said. "Angel.." He started but I cut him off. "No fuck the magic law. If you want her, go get her. Don't listen to what everyone tells you to do." I said. "Angel..." He said. "No Kevin, I feel like there's something deeper than what your telling me. A girl like her doesn't come around to often." I said.

"Angel!!" He got louder. His eyes turned bright red. "What is it Kevin, huh? What's holding you back? Huh? What is it?" I asked, getting louder. Then suddenly, he grabbed my face and kisses me. I felt hot. Like literally hot, as if my body was on fire. Then darness surrounds me. I passed out.
