"What? I can't?" Aliya asked once again as she looked over at Max. "Max?"

"Well … you aren't entirely well yet, Aliya." He said, frowning slightly. "I don't want you outside. Especially if the nearest hospital from Kaia's house is a good forty minutes' drive. What if something happens?"

"But …I don't want to be left alone here."

"You won't be left alone." Max said, "Sae is going to be here with you. And Ellie."

"But … I don't want to be alone with them." She said, turning to Sae. "No offence."

"None was taken. You will obviously want to be with your brother more than me." Sae chuckled to herself.

"Can't you take me with you?" She asked, pleading with him with her eyes.

"We can't Aliya," Max said, voice stern. "You need to rest up. I refuse to let you get sicker on my watch. What will sir and ma'am say?"

Once he mentioned her aunt and uncle, Aliya almost instantly began to back down. Almost.
