A Song of Ancient Times

Nefertari left the room with a wide grin on her face, leaving the two brothers alone to have their moment in peace. Once she heard the door click shut behind her, she looked around in the hallway but found that there was no sign of Ashkan and Darsameen anywhere.

She sighed deeply as she supported her whole weight on one leg. "I guess today is the day that I spend it all alone?" she said, making it sound more like a question that she wished would be proved wrong than a statement.

She closed her eyes for a moment taking a deep breath, deciding that it's okay if she spends the rest of the day alone, but then…how many days are left that she would easily decide to spend the day alone? She wondered.

"Well, Well, Well," the words came out on repeat from behind Nefertari, and she turned to look at the familiar tall golden-haired knight of hers. "Look who is walking all alone?"
