Bigger Fish -Strategy- (2)

7 Ram Deers were set upon a small rocky hill surrounded by treeline with a little clearing around the area between the hill, and the forest. Two Greater Ram Deers were oppositely positioned on each side of the rocky side of the hill, their eyes fixated on the slightest rustle of a bush, a snap of a twig, or a shadow behind a tree. The remaining four regular Ram Deers were positioned in the four general corners if you outline the area into a square box, and they switch from corner to corner, patrolling.

Allen's senses force him to stop in his tracks, he was only now several feet away from coming out of the tree line dense hidden cover.

"Well Shit, They actually somewhat organized?"

He cracks up a weird smirk on his face, then clutches his spear in his hand.

"Gotta be kidding me right?"

Allen couldn't believe his eyes, with how these animals are acting and behaving they almost seem like they have a really basic form of a defense strategy.

"A really flimsy plan... But they still have a plan in the first place... Ha... haha... ha~"

This was supposed to be a walk in the park, some quick kills to get some quick EXP but no, reality always challenges him.

"If they out have a plan set up, then that just means I gotta out-think them."

Allen gently claps his face cheeks trying to mentally prepare himself and to be ready for a potential blood bath.

He pulls away from that location to find a tree with enough density of leaves, and branches to disguise him, giving him a good spot to see the location, not to mention his aerial view from his map. The perfect lookout spot to devise a counter-strategy.

"So we have the two greater Ram Deers on the north and south side of that rocky hill, and I'm located mostly on the west."

He had his hand placed under his chin, and his legs were crisscrossed with the elbow planted on one of the legs.

"Not to mention the 4 regular Ram Deers position in the corners... Which switches out every..."

His focus was now on the regular Ram Deers, but being on the west side he can only see the west, and partially the north and side south. He started to count the seconds of how long they stand in position, and how long does it take for each to reach their spot.

"1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6"

A total of roughly 25 seconds was counted up when that stay at that corner position. And about 40 seconds each to travel from one corner to the next, with an average of 20 seconds to reach the midpoint.

"25 seconds of holding still... 40 seconds of traveling, and 20 seconds for them to get to the midpoint."

Knowing the time the rotation was good for him because he can strike at those 20 seconds and remove the small fries, then move onto the bigger fish, but this all depends on his timing.

"I could collect some berries and group them into a pile along the edges of the tree line, and then grab them into the forest killing them... Getting rid of the smell fries, and a clear path to the main two Animals."

He thought of this simple strategy to lure in the regular Ram Deers to kill them off one by one. A really sinister grin arise out of nowhere, and confidence going sky high.

"Strategic thinking always riles my blood up, my-"

Allen started to free both of his hands and hold them up in the air, he weirdly wiggles his fingers in a psychotic way and a creeping feeling of excitement and sensing a huge blood bath was to occur soon.

"Strategic Mindset~ kekeke~"

Something that he was good at, strategic thinking and planning, like a chess player but more life on the line situations. But this skill was really useless in his old world, so he couldn't use it but, in this world.

"I feel so... Free... like I have an upper advantage here... kekeke."

He pushes his glasses doing the classical anime glasses shine effect, as he laughs a bit like a mad man, grabbing his spear and dropping off from the tree branch that he was using as his lookout spot.

*Thud*

He safely lands back down on the soft grass and dirt ground, with a minor thud sound. And proceed to begin with his plan.

*Rustle rustle*

-There that should do it... A pile of different kind of berries and some even were squished to attract their sense of smell.-

Allen was hiding behind a large bush that was covering him the Animal eyesight, feeling extremely confident on this plan, over these presumably stupid animals. The pile of berries were right in front of the Bush, trying to bait the Animals closer to that Bush.

*Clip clop, trop, clip*

Allen heard one out of the four Ram Deers just now arriving at their guard posts from peeking through a tiny hole in the bush, his left hand was hovering over his spear that was lying on the ground, and his right clench into a fist.

-Come on, come on, come on already, take the bait-

Allen said to himself hoping eventually that the Animal nose will catch into the berry trap that he set up.

The nose of the Animal twitch and sniffs at the air, turning its head toward the Bush and seeing the pile of berries. Hesitate at first the creature slowly approached the pile and then slowly bending its neck down to sniff the food.

-Now!-

Allen sprang up from behind the Bush spear ready in his hands, he holds the weapon above his head and slashes down at the neck of the Animal killing it.

*Ding*

The head and the main body of the Animal has now split apart with them both now laying on the ground, and they both soon started to bleed, he immediately drags them both behind the Bush to hide the carcass.

- That's one down... three more to.go-

Allen mentally checks himself to make sure he doesn't lose count the numbers of kills he has gotten, then he Proceeds to do another routine countdown.

-Alright time for the second, can't mess up this one.-

He prepares himself to strike once more, seeing the second Animal arrive at the spot.

Once again the Animal caught the scent of berries, the 2nd prey steadily walks toward the pile and does what the 1st anima did, slowly bending it necks down for an opening.

-This is almost too easy!-

He sprung out from the Bush again doing the same kind of attack killing the Animal in one fell swoop.

*Ding*

Another splatter of blood splashes around the area and the body was pulled back behind the Bush again, as he waits for the third prey to meet its demise.

- I may need to move around... To much blood... Or maybe I could get lucky with my 3rd?-

The amount of blood spilled onto the bush, and then onto the ground was a big indicator that their comrades were slain in that one area. Things are going well so far, but how long can this luck keep up? This was making Allen worried about his plan a little.

*Clip Clip clip*

The incoming 3rd Ram Deer was now station at the corner then like it's previous comrades smell the berries. This one hesitated the longest among the ones he has seen.

- it's a big pile of free berries, come on already, I know you want to eat it!-

He was getting slightly impatient and anxious with the 3rd one but the creature finally gave in and approached the pile bending its head down.

-I got you now!-

Coming up from the Bush for the third time, he was in the middle of raising his spear until the Animal had noticed the blood, on the Bush and ground, since the berry sauce couldn't completely cover it up anymore.

The Animal panicked and stumbles back at bit making Allen swing, missed by a few inches.

-Damnit! I knew I should have moved!-

Regretting the fact that the blood was the reason he couldn't successfully kill the Animal in one attack, and he even knew that the blood was a big indicator of this.

"Bloody hell... God damnit."

He muttered under his breath as he gets ready to throw his weapon, his gently tosses it up into the air a bit then back into his hands. Then he threw the weapon at the head of the Animal head.

*Shinrk*

The spear would pierce into the 3rd Ram Deer head making it fall over and skid away a little. His plan now completely toss out the window.

*Ding*

- Damnit... damnit... damnit!-

He ran toward the dead body to pluck the spear out of its head, now he was in the wide-open area with no cover, completely exposed.

By the time Allen had pulled out his weapon, the change of position was already happening as the 4th Deer came upon the scene of his dead friend.

"Oh great... even better this fucking cliche!"

He complained as he got into his battle stance, and he raises up his guard. The Ram Deer quickly charge at the Allen who dodged out of the way, but he wouldn't let it live.

He swung his spear at an angle to give a major body cut on the side deep enough to kill it, as it ran past him.

*Crash*

It crashes into the ground, rolling over along the ground then finally skidding to a stop, as the Animal bleed out from the major wound.

"Ha! you gotta do better than th!-"

Speaking of cliches like he knows everything, he was attacked by a mana blast off from the side that exploded a few ft away from him.

[ HP 658/701 -43 dmg ]

The two Greater Ram Deers were now both on the west side of the rocky hill, they both felt the magical aura of their fallen teammates fade away, now knowing it was caused by Allen, one of them charge a really low tier mana ball blast and attack him with it.

*Cough, cough*

Through the smoke from the small explosion, he was coughing from taking that magical damage.

"Really caught me by surprise... didn't ya."

The smoke soon parted ways, showing that his armor and clothing tattered from that one single attack, He spins his spear around in figure 8 and lock himself into his battle stance again.

"But I won't go down that easily like the first time I fought you!"

He stared at the two Ram Deers that were now staring down at him, at the top of the hill, then yelled out at the two Animals on top of the hill, out of anger and cockiness.

"Come!"

He would prepare himself to launch out an attack, as he activities his enhance agility Allen bend his knees down and jump up high into the air to reach the two on the hill while thrusting his spear at the two Animals.

"Ha!!!" Allen shouted a war cry.
