Friend

Carol was the first to react as she roared, "Tylem, I'll deal with you after. Everyone, class is over. Get changed and handle yourselves properly while I'm gone. I'll be taking Colt to the sickbay."

"Tylem, bring Kaden over to the sickbay for me, now." Carol ordered.

The entire gym was eerily silent.

Nothing but Carol's footsteps could be heard as she gradually carried Colt's shivering body away. For the students, this time felt like an eternity. Soon, their teacher disappeared from the gym alongside Colt.

"That was fucking awesome…" Gulping, Kaden trembled. It was true. When had his intuition ever failed him? From the first time he had laid eyes on Tylem on the bus, he had known that the boy was special.

But… it wasn't to such an exaggerated extent.

"Shit, pal. I can't believe you were that angry for me. I'm seriously blushing!" Rubbing his nose, Kaden joked in an attempt to relax the class's chilling atmosphere. With his arm draped over Tylem's shoulder, he added, "Don't worry, I got your back when the teacher questions us."

Staring at the transfer with a pair of wide-open eyes, Arthur was in disbelief. Colt, the powerful devil who had tormented him every day, had been destroyed in such a swift, merciless fashion?

"I..." Arthur clenched his fists, feeling lost and defeated. Up to this point, how much time had he wasted? Within him, his heart was changing.

For Tylem, his mind remained tranquil, even after harming a child. In his mind, the boy deserved it. Having spent a week in his new home's peaceful, cozy environment, he had almost forgotten all the filth in the damn world.

The reason Lynne, the precious daughter of his benefactor or more importantly his little sister, was being bullied was all because of trash human beings like this. In the end, age didn't matter; children could be just as evil as adults.

Perhaps even more so.

In regards to the other students, except for some fear and awe, none of them felt bad about what Tylem had done to Colt. Rather, all of them felt like the cocky bully deserved it.

If it wasn't for the awkward atmosphere, some of the students even wanted to loudly cheer.

"Let's get you to the sickbay first, Kaden." Tylem sighed. Helping the chubby boy along the way, he calmly took out some tissues from the ball of light's storage space. Offering it to Kaden, the boy's nose was still dripping dark blood.

Thanking him, Kaden had not noticed that the tissues had appeared out of thin air.

The storage space was extremely small, and it could not hold much more other than the thick cultivation manual. However, Tylem had still prepared some minor essentials inside.

Like this, Tylem, the new transfer with mysterious abilities, disappeared from the gym alongside Kaden under the excited, emotional expressions of his twenty-odd classmates.

Ivla's sickbay.

"Colt, you and Kaden are classmates! How could you throw the ball at him like that?" Carol fiercely reprimanded.

Fortunately, there was not much damage to Kaden's nose, and it would heal up nicely with some rest.

Continuing, Carol then turned her attention to the new transfer who had silvery-black hair. "Ugh, and as for you Tylem… I understand that you were angry that your friend was hit, but that was uncalled for and unnecessary."

The two injured students were sitting on separate beds in the school's sickbay, while Tylem was leaning near the door with his arms crossed coupled with an unamused look.

When Carol saw this, she could acutely feel her heart rising up and down in anger. This brat, how was so he unrepenting even after being so brutal toward a fellow classmate?

Furthermore, she had even lowered herself to speak to him, attempting to justify his reason.

Yet Tylem's face was apathetic without the slightest thought of offering an apology. If she didn't teach this child a lesson right now, she would be unable to call herself a teacher.

"Teacher, it's okay… I caused and started this mess, so I deserve this." Grinding his teeth, Colt flipped himself over while still in lots of pain, but he managed to work up the energy to speak. In his mind, he did not want to be involved with the transfer at all; he dared not offend him even more.

Carol was unwilling to escalate the matter as well. Under normal circumstances, she should be reporting this event to the Dean for a more severe punishment, but the higher-ups were all money-driven.

This accident had occurred under her jurisdiction—within her class. If their wealthy, overbearing parents became involved, she would be affected as well.

However, she was also reluctant to leave the situation like this. Clenching her teeth, Carol still ended up nodding, "Very well, Colt and Tylem, both of you will receive detention after school at my office. Don't be late."

"What…" Colt trembled. This wasn't humane. With Carol supervising, after school, he would need to spend more time with this devil? Right now, he wanted nothing more than to get as far away as possible from the transfer.

"Hmph." Tylem was still crossing his arms. In schools, it didn't matter who the bully and victim were. In the end, the final outcome was what mattered; he had retaliated for Kaden. Thus, he received punishment.

In the small room, Tylem and Colt met each other's stare. This led to the tall brown-haired boy clumsily turning around. The devil's lustrous, impassive eyes were too frightening.

Two endless vortexes that threatened to swallow him whole.

"You can't do this, Miss! Tylem didn't mean for this to happen. He just wanted to help. Please let me take the punishment in place of him." Kaden begged. Truth be told, there was not much he could say that would sound reasonable.

Including the teacher, all of them had seen what happened.

"No, this decision is final. Kaden, you're an innocent bystander here, but know that I'm being very reasonable with only punishing Tylem this much." Carol stated in a stance that emphasized the verdict wouldn't change regardless of what was said from now.

"Miss…" Kaden was unwilling, but nothing would change even if he continued.

"It's all right, Kaden. I'll be fine." Tylem walked up to the injured boy, placing a hand on his shoulder. Toward Kaden, he genuinely appreciated his concern, and one simple detention wasn't much if it meant getting justice for a friend.

"Just rest up. You're hurt." With a smile, Tylem firmly said.

"Bro…" Knowing it was futile, Kaden helplessly slumped into the bed.

Seeing this, Carol was touched that their friendship was so wholesome. However, she remained true to her word. Even if the gods descended now, Tylem would still be receiving his punishment today.

Checking her watch, Carol spoke to Tylem with a mysterious face that didn't show her emotions and what she was thinking, "Kaden and Colt will need to rest up for the day. The next period is soon. Tylem, will you be fine on your own, or do you want me to take you to your next class?"

[I still have more to say to Colt.] Carol thought, and she also needed to be at her next class on time.

However, she was thoroughly ignored.

"See you, Kaden." Tylem walked out of the door, treating the teacher and Colt as if the two were thin air.

"Take care!" Kaden waved, not noticing the angry teacher standing beside him.

The two's blatant disregard for her was infuriating, and Carol's large chest heaved up and down in anger. In Ivla, the other teachers have, without fail, tried to impress her at all times, but these children ignored her presence altogether.

Nonetheless, Tylem leaving was enough to answer her question; he knew where to go.
