On The Beach

In no time, Katie's shoes were removed entirely, and after putting them slightly aside, Kinsey rose to his feet. He really tried to hold back his laughter at seeing Katie, who now way shorter than before.

"Are you making fun of me?" asked Katie suspiciously.

The girl looked gorgeous and adorable in Kinsey's eyes. Especially when putting on a sullen expression like this.

"No," Kinsey replied, pressing his lips together so as not to laugh.

"Yes, you are!" accused Katie, stamping one foot on the floor.

Kinsey's expression softened as he saw that the girl's habits had not changed. Katie always stomps one foot when she is sullen or irritated.

"Shall we continue our dance? The music's still not over yet. Come on, get on my feet." he coaxed in a tone that would soothe Katie's irritation.

"Ah?"

"I don't want your feet dirty."

Again Katie startled at his words.

"But, I'm very heavy." Katie silently cursed herself. She should have rejected it, not say it in a challenging tone.

"I'll let you know if you're heavy." Kinsey chuckled as he tugged at Katie's two hands very gently.

There was no force from his attitude. Kinsey persuades the girl to accept his offer at the same time he allowed Katie to turn him down… which, as it turns out, Katie doesn't refuse.

Kinsey led Katie's hand circled his waist, while he lightly placed his hands behind her waist once Katie's feet were on top of his loafers.

"See? You're not heavy at all. In fact, you're lighter than I thought."

Katie just snorted at his words. But she couldn't raise her face because she felt her cheeks were very hot as a boiling egg.

Not to mention that her still irregular heartbeat made her dare not look into the man's eyes.

Perhaps it was because of the man's movements that made her feel good, Katie became entirely comfortable in Kinsey's arms. She pressed her body together and leaned her head against the man's chest while closing her eyes. This was the first time Katie felt relaxed with a man since the accident.

Katie was utterly unaware of Kinsey's body suddenly stiffening because he didn't expect Katie to close any gaps between them.

Now Katie's head is right in the heart of Kinsey. She could hear the man's heartbeat, which was no less fast than hers.

Eh?? This person can also be as nervous as she is? Katie smiled while enjoying her moment with Kinsey. She hoped that time could stop right now.

Unfortunately, it was not the time that stopped. Instead, romantic music has stopped and is now being replaced by some funk music.

Neither Kinsey nor Katie is willing to let go of each other. It's just that Kinsey afraid that Katie would mind their closeness while Katie worried that Kinsey will look down on her. So the two of them both released their hugs and stood away.

Katie walked to take her shoes and smiled at Kinsey.

"I'd better go back. Good night."

"Hm. Good night."

Katie stepped back, waving her hand in front of her chest. Then turn around and walk very slowly.

Katie is regretting her own words now. Why did she have to say goodbye even though she still wanted to be with that man? This is her last day here. At least she wanted to have sweet memories to replace her nightmares.

But she had said goodbye, so she had to leave now. She would be a wishy-washy if she turned back to stay.

Meanwhile, Kinsey, who didn't know what Katie was thinking, could only stare at the girl's back with a longing gaze.

Just like Katie, Kinsey still wants to be with her. But the girl wanted to go and sleep. It's already late, maybe even morning? That's why Kinsey let her go. After all, they could meet again in the morning.

It's just that Kinsey noticed Katie's movement, which was very slow. The way the girl walked seemed like someone hesitant and sorry to leave.

Is it possible that that girl also has the same feelings as him? Kinsey would be a fool if he didn't take this opportunity.

"Katie,"

Kinsey's call caused Katie to stop in her tracks and quickly turn around. Her heart vibrated strangely, hearing the man call her nickname in a soft voice. Moreover, this man called her 'Katie' instead of 'Kitty.'

"Yes?"

"If you're not sleepy yet, want to go somewhere with me?"

Katie's smile widened and nodded her head without hesitation. Getting the answer he wanted, Kinsey smiled happily, too.

The two of them quickly headed for the parking lot and climbed into a luxury black car whose roof had been folded back. Kinsey drove to a nearby beach, which happens to be quite a distance from the mansion.

During the trip, the two of them smiled at each other and enjoyed the wind that hit them. As soon as they arrived at the beach, Kinsey put his tuxedo around Katie's shoulders to keep her from feeling too cold. The two of them chat with each other while sitting on the bonnet of Kinsey's car facing the sea.

On the beach, there was minimal lighting, and almost no one was there. The only lights that helped them to see their surroundings were from Kinsey's car. And there was only the sound of the waves which could often be heard from the sea.

Suddenly in the middle of their chat, Katie's eyes detected something that caught her eye. She took off the tux and rested it on the car before she got off and walked away from there.

Kinsey just looked at Katie in confusion and curiosity without any suspicion as the girl crouched down to grab something.

And when Katie got to her feet and turned around, on top of her palm was a small hermit crab with a pretty shell, making Kinsey frozen on the spot.
