Weekend? Quest Time!

As they have reached the end of the week on Friday, Ranata have his usual lunch with the two girls while talking about their plans on weekend. As there is no class on Saturday and Sunday, the students have two days worth of free time every week in their hands. Usually they would spend this time practicing or perusing the lesson they have learned on this week.

But not for Ranata, Kiseki and Chikane who is already on the peak of their grades, with the boy have reached Level 16 and the girls are confirmed to have reached Level 13 (By their permission, Ranata cast Appraisal on them and then he take notes of their level and stats in his mind).

One must know, to graduate from this Academy, one only need to reach at least Level 20 and complete the Final Exam from one or more Faculty they choose to graduate from. After graduating, each Faculty they graduate from will grant them a Crest which is a consumable item that can be used to greatly increase their stats or even raised their level.

As the three of them are already in the upper half tier of the students in the Academy, what they need are not just theory and practice on the same level as their peers. What they need the most are true experience gained from magical experiment, intensive research or the heat of true combat.

So, here they are, standing in front of the door of Quest Hall on their weekend to take on Quests to gather experiences. Entering the Hall, the three of them instantly become the center of attention as they are new faces who have never gotten here before. Even so, rumors about them have spread far and wide in the academy. Not just their peers, even the Senior Students, Teachers and some Elders have heard one or two things about them.

"Wow, Is that two beauties the Dragon Sisters from the new students?" "Eh? Is that man the so called Black Horse among the new students?" Already getting used to this situation thanks to being with the Two Great Beauties all this week, Ranata ignore all the remarks about them on the background.

They go straight to the Quest Counter to apply for quests. The process is rather simple, first they must register themselves by filling the form and have their levels checked to see if they meet the requirements to take on the quests.

Aside from a Very Big Uproar they caused due to their ridiculously high level despite being new students (average new students are only ranged from level 5 to 10). Forget about new students, though. Even the senior students only have levels ranging on 10 to 15. Level 16 to 20 are students that are on their final year and they are rarely seen as they mostly indulged in their training or research to better prepare them on the Final Exam.

The examiner's eyes are bulged out like it will jumped out from its sockets when she sees Ranata's level. Level 16!? She can accept the girls being level 13 due to them being from the prestigious Dragon Clan. But how the hell did this man who is clearly just a commoner reach a level this high despite being this young? Something like this need to be reported to the principal!

So, unaware that the information about their levels are relayed to the Highest Figure in the Academy, the boy and the two girls proceed to pick which quest they will take for this week. As their level are quite high by the standard of the Academy, they are instantly allowed to take on Tier 2 Quests listed on the Questboard.

"There! How about this Spiked Beast Drake Subjugation?" Kiseki asked.

"They are around Level 16 to 18. You sure want to fight monsters 4 levels above you?" Ranata answered casually.

Then, how about this One Horned Lion King? They should be around Level 15" Chikane asked.

"Seems ok. We will take this then." Ranata approved her suggestion.

"Mu mu mu.... You always listen to Chikane...." Kiseki protests while pouted cutely.

"If we can take down that Lion King with ease, then we will try that Spikey. How about that?" Ranata coaxed her.

"Oh, really? It's a deal, then!" Smiling brightly, Kiseki accept my idea.

After that, we register the quest with the three of us as participants. The Academy allows the students to make a party to take down more difficult quest as the Academy only provide the quests and the rewards. As for Party Management, it's up for the students to handle it themselves.

Departing with a rented carriage, we reached the forest where the One Horned Lion King reside in. Ah, how I want to be able to cast the Tier 3 Spell Teleport. That would make taking Quests become even more easier as that would shortening the time we need to reach our destination. Although I know the spell, my mana and control are just not enough to cast that spell. Except if the three of us coordinated to cast that spell. Nah, I will ask about it with them later. Now we should focus on the mission.

Casting [Sense Location], Ranata try to locate the place where the One Horned Lion King are staying. After he found it, the three of them rushes to the place while cutting down all the monsters that are on our way.

Oh, don't forget to loot, though. Their materials are good stuff. It's good that I bring the basket with me. Although the girls clearly heve the question mark on their head when they see me bring a picnic basket with me.

"Do you think we are on vacation?" That's what the girls ask to me. The look of surprise on their face when I told them that it is my storage item are very pleasant to look at. But it's not for long as they show the ring on their fingers and they tell me that it is their storage ring. I am a bit envying them for having such a convenient item that they can wear on every occasion, unlike my picnic basket. Anyway, I still bring my picnic basket with me to store my part of the loots. Although it's a bit inconvenient, the space it contain (512 meter cubic) is greater than their rings which only contain 5 x 5 x 5 = 125 meter cubic space.
