Her Worries

"Spill. I know you have something to let out."

"No I don't."

"I will not drive back home until you tell me." Kai pulled up to the side of the road and crossed his arms. Leira face palmed herself.

"I don't like Elaine."

"And why is that?" Kai asked knowing well enough the reason.

"I just don't."

"Looks like we are going to spend the night here."

"Ugh fine, she likes him to the point she threaten me once and the thought of her being close to Seunwo in the hospital makes me- sighh can you send me home now? Please? You got your fried chicken and I want my share too." Leira said with her voice coming out breathy, looking at his eyes.

Kai softened and reached out to tuck the strands of her hair behind her ear. Leira paused at the close proximity.

"Seunwo is just nice to people. Don't worry." He smiled softly and putting his car to a gear and continues.

"Besides, you're a 999 compare to her... I don't know maybe a 10 in other people's eyes, though we were talking about a scale of 10 here. You broke the scale sis."

"Is that how you trying to cheer me up? Rating us?" Leira rolled her eyes. Kai just snickered.

"Seunwo might be really suck at reading you but I'm pretty good at it so goodluck hiding stuff from me."

"Its the other way around actually. He can tell even by my voice while I cant read him at all." She sighed.

Somehow she felt comfortable sharing stuff with him. As if she trust him in keeping to just themselves.

"You could just ask, Lei. I'm sure he will gladly tell you." Kai suggested.

"If he doesn't want to tell, I don't want to push him." Leira shrugged. Kai glanced at her.

"Want to try out the maximum speed of my car?"

"Sure, the faster we got home, the faster I get to eat the chicken." She snickered.

"Aye, we shared the same brain cells."

It was nearly 4 in the morning when Seunwo arrived at her house. He decided to bring her the first med kit that she had asked him for her final paper project.

When he opened the door, he stop at his track. He looked around the room and noticed, there are a few cans of beer on the table neatly stacked like a building. Thats what she do when she's drunk. Its to test her ability in drunk mode, she said.

"What are you doing?" He asked almost immediately.

"Carrying her to her bed." Kai replied not before giving him a side eye and continue going inside the bedroom with sleeping Leira in his arms.

Seunwo came up to the room and saw Kai tucking her inside the blanket gently. He straightened back up and brush passed Seunwo, stepping out of the room. Closing the door carefully, he followed Kai where he's starting to clean up the table.

"What happen? Lei rarely drinks."

"Nothing." Kai replied short. Seunwo frowned at his coldness.

"What's up with you?"

"Nothing."

Seunwo sighed and stopped Kai from picking the beer cans.

"You don't want to tell me about you, fine but why is Leira drunk?"

"How you know she's drunk?"

"She's my girlfriend." Seunwo said clearly.

"So?"

"Kai-"

"She just had a rough day, alright. Thats all, go to sleep. You wouldn't want her to worry about your health. She got more important things to care in her plate." Kai said as he put all their trash into a plastic bag and went out of the house, leaving bothered Seunwo alone in the living room.

"..." Seunwo looked back to her bedroom.

"He is still a guy, Lei. Why did you let your guard down.."

A thud makes Seunwo stirred to awake and opened his eyes groggily. The first thing he saw was Leira putting her clothes in her travel bag.

"Ah sorry, didn't mean to wake you up. Go back to sleep." She said as she saw him pushing himself up to lean to the headboard.

"Where.."

"Indonesia. I'm covering my final paper there. We just decided to finish it early. I gave the dinner reservation to Kai is that okay?"

"Yeah.. Sorry again. The med kits are in the living room." Seunwo said as he cleared his throat. Leira finished zipping the bag and went to sit beside him.

"Work is work, Han so it's fine. I'll be back in a month but don't worry its not any different from now anyways." Leira joked but Seunwo stayed silent.

"Are you okay?" He asked.

"Yeah, why wouldn't I be?" Leira tilt her head questioningly. Seunwo find her eyes and tug her lips upwards, playfully.

"Make sure to eat properly while you're there." He said as he smiled softly at her.

She grinned and pulled him into a hug.

"I'm more worried about you, doc."

"I'll be fine."

"Good." Leira said beaming at him. Seunwo found himself smiling back at her beaming self.

Using the closeness between them, he slowly leans towards her as his eyes drop to her lips.

Just inches before they touch, Leira's phone rang making her looked away and answered the call. Seunwo touched his neck and leaned back to the headboard while sighing.

"Im done. Im done. Jeez, relax will you?" Leira said to her caller and hang up.

"Hwi is here I cant handle him in the morning really, he gets super energetic." She sighed and picked up her travel bag. Seunwo nodded.

"I know. Have a safe flight, Lei. Call or text me when you arrived."

"Will do. You can go back to sleep now.  Bye love you!" She said, stepping outside the room hurriedly and closed the door as Hwiyun starts honking.

"Lei." Seunwo stared at the door as he recalled back the look on her face before she left. He was about to take his phone when the door opened.

"Yeah?"

He waved her over and she walked to him questioningly, he can't help but to see her like a cute puppy.

"You seems like you want to say something. What is it?"

"Hm? No? " She asked tugging his sleeve as he still stared at her, not saying anything.

Leira felt her heart arrowed when he smiled knowingly.

"Can I kiss you?"

He chuckled and nodded. She cupped his face, placing her lips on his. Seunwo put his hands on her waist, smiling genuinely that reached his eyes.

"Wait for me to come back in a month okay?" She said softly, brushing his bangs away from his eyes.

"I will."

"Guys, look. Lei is smiling to herself."

"Something good happened maybe."

"She don't even try to at least tell us even though she heard us talking about her."

"I can guess." Dohyon started. The other two looked at him expectantly.

"That doc must have gave her some attention."

"Meh." Hwiyun and Chae made a sound in disagreement.

"I heard Han Seunwo was on call yesterday, he couldn't be the one who gave her the attention." Hwiyun said shrugging. Chae narrowed her eyes at him.

"Who told you that?"

"My girlfriend."

"You found a girlfriend right away after the breakup? And a doctor? What a player." Dohyon asked teasingly earning flying cabbage coming to his face. He dodge it swiftly but soon got called down by the stewardess.

"Please refrain from throwing food in the plane, sir."

"Ah, my bad. My friend got a little issue with discipline. Thank you for pointing it out." He said to her coolly which made her blushed subtly.

"You're the player.." Leira snorted and Hwiyun immediately agreed with her. Then Chae suddenly clapped her hands as she realized something.

"Is it Kai?" She asked suddenly making them looked at her weirdly.

"What?" Leira asked.

"You were with Kai yesterday!"

"What about it?"

"Kai gave you the attention you need." Dohyon nodded and the other friens just shook his head because he knows whats coming next.

"What are you talking about?" Leira sighed exasperatedly.

"You know Kai was that cold med student when he was in SNU." Chae said.

"He's not cold, Chae. He talks a lot, its weird."

"Not to you duh because he-"

"Time to zip le mouth." Hwiyun said happily closing her mouth. Chae licked his hand.

"Whoa what are you a cat?" He grimaced but still held his hand on her mouth.

"Anyways, did Han Seunwo know that you're away for a month?" Dohyon changed the topic and Hwiyun held back his snort.

"Yeah. He did forgot at first but he knows. He's going to wait for me to come back." Leira smiled.

Dohyon, Chae and Hwiyun looked at her smiling state briefly and sighed in sync.

"Han Seunwo scored this one I guess." Dohyon shrugged.

"Why are you guys here again?"

"We're in the same course." Hwiyun replied to which shushed by Lei and pointed at the other two.

"Sight seeing."

"Boyfriend finding."
