Relationship or Work?

"Welcome back, young master." The butler said as he arrived at the airport.

"Thanks. You can go on ahead with my bags.  I'm visiting someone first."

"But sir, your-"

"It's fine. He's a close friend of mine." The male said and went out of the gate with 4 bodyguards around him.

"Taejin!"

"Welcome back Taejin!"

Screams fills the air as they pass through the crowd with fans cheering his name. He smiled at them and waved. He would occasionally accepts the gift that his fans hold out to him.

"Thank you all. Take care!" He said and stepped into his awaiting van.

"Where to sir?" His driver asked. Taejin smiled.

"SNU Hospital."

"The air sure is different here." Chae sniffed as she waved her hand elegantly to her nose.

"You've been here all the time, drama queen." Dohyon rolled his eyes and plopped on the bed.

"You should be our tour guide." Hwiyun said showing Chae the name of the place on his phone.

Lei and Hwiyun was getting ready to visit the archeology centre right away after getting their sleep while Dohyon and Chae decided to lay around in their suite.

But Leira is planning to use her as the translator.

"Waze exist for a reason." She sassed.

"And you exist for no reason?" Lei mused while checking her messages. She had sent a text to her boyfriend earlier this morning and it has been read but with no response. Tucking it back into her pocket, she saw Chae balking at her statement.

"Cry Chae cry!" Dohyon laughed earning a jab from her. Leira shook her head amused and hook her arm with Chae's.

"Let's go google translate."

"I don't want to walk anymore!" Chae whined as they started to hike up the mountain.

Upon arriving at the centre, Leira's enthusiasm managed to make the professor to give them a tour to one of the popular archeology site in Indonesia, Mount Padang. Being the translator, Chae cant really pulled out from the short tour.

"I'm sure it'll be worth it when we get to the destination. Just a little bit more, I think. Ask him." Leira grinned. Chae sighed and tap on the Professor's shoulder.

"Pak, kapan sampai ke destinasinya? Bisa enggak saya berehat sebentar." Chae said in indonesian to which Leira narrowed her eyes at her.

Translates to : When will we be there, sir? Can I take a break?

"10 minutes but its fine, we could take a water break. For you." The professor said, his tone teasing. Hwiyun didn't held back his snort this time.

"Whoa, prof." He said. The professor nodded while smiling.

"Tease me all you want, I deserve a break since y'all basically forced me here." Chae rolled her eyes and sat on one of the nearby stone.

"Kamu enggak bisa duduk di situ!" (Dont sit there!)

Chae immediately stood up, all panicky making Leira and Hwiyun guwaffed at her.

"Why why?" Chae said hiding behind Leira.

"That stone has a lot of history. The legend said, anybody touch it, they will have no luck in love." The rather young professor said seriously.

The two friends oooh-ed but zipped their mouth when Chae glared at them. She sighed and just sat on a tree bark.

"Like I have a luck in that in the first place."

"I'm joking. Here have some water." He chuckled lightly as he squatted in front of her, handing her a bottle of mineral water.

"Well, I'm not joking, prof."

"I'm sure there will be someone who's willing to break the curse. Besides, who in the right mind would not fell in love with you?" The professor's cheek dimpled. Chae felt her cheeks flushed as she blinks a few times and cleared her throat.

"Alright, sedia?(ready)" He said as he starts to walk. Hwiyun immediately followed him not before teasing Chae.

"I guess your boyfriend finding starting." Leira nudged her playfully as she fanned herself.

"Not at all, he's not my type."

"Sure." Leira giggled. The girl rolled her eyes at her.

"I'm serious. I just- got overwhelmed."

"K, woman."

"Shut up."

"The operation went smoothly and he is responding well. Don't worry, he is stable and everything is fine. In gods will, he will wake up in a few days." Seunwo smiled at the patient's family.

"Oh, Thank you doctor."  The woman broke down to tears as she fell back to the seats, relieved. Her son smiled and rubbed her back assuringly. The male doctor bowed and left them to their privacy.

Getting inside ICU, he checked his patients and had a little a chit chat with them.

"You know, my daughter is a lecturer and she's quite young to achieve that."

"I'm sure you are very proud of that, sir."

"Oh please, just call me uncle." The elder pat his arm.

"She's very pretty too! But sadly last year she broke up with her long time boyfriend." He began rambling. Seunwo just nodded along with him as check his pulse.

"They were so in love but work tear them apart until it made my daughter realize that she was holding him back from pushing through his career. She broke up with him and he went to Indonesia and become a Professor there. Somehow, they sacrifice their love to achieve their goal." 

Seunwo involuntarily thought about Leira and pushed them to the back of his mind. He assured the elder and asked him to drink more water.

"I'm sure if they are meant to be together,  fate will do its part eventually. Rest up, uncle. Based on what I see here, you have shown a tremendous recovery. I'll ask the nurses to transfer you to your room in a bit." He smiled at the elder warmly.

Giving the list to the nurse in charge, Seunwo stepped out of the ICU and look at his watch briefly while walking to the elevator.

"Woo."

He turned to the voice and saw his rare sight of his friend in his lab coat.

"Since when do you talk?" He said chuckling. Kai rolled his eyes and just pull him to his department office.

Kai closed the door and turned to his confused friend.

"So do you want me to hide you?"

"From what?"

"The devil in disguise."

"Who-"

Kai cut him off and turned on the tv and switch to the news.

Hallyu star, Taejin has safely arrived back in Seoul after his encore concert in the US. The star is given a rest, stated by his ent~

"Him."

Seunwo winced at the sight of the pop-star on the television.

"Yeah, hide me."

"He's still with Kim Leira? Whoa, Elaine. I think you should find somebody else."

"You think they could last forever too?" Elaine frowned as she put sugar in her coffee and stirred it.

"Duh, they are both really cool and laid back people. What could probably make them argue or whatever. Besides, did you forget how unreal Lara Croft is?" Her friend said while waving around her fork as she stressed out the last part. Elaine cocked up her eyebrow.

"Lara Croft?"

"The heroine in Tomb Raider, Elaine. Archeology student remember? I heard she got an offer to Harvard to do a research in Brazil. Then she will have to leave Korea for a very long time though."

Elaine straightened her body and look at her friend expectantly.

"Did she take the offer?"

"I don't know."

"Naeun, why!" Elaine whined and kicked her shin under the table. Naeun yelped.

"Ow, ask her yourself! Oh right, you're not in her good book." Naeun rolled her eyes as she gently rubbed her shin before continuing while looking at the unfazed girl.

"Threatening a very cool woman, what were you thinking, honestly?"

"She can't have everything she wants. The world doesn't work that way. You'll see, I will make him fall in love with me. Besides, we see each other everyday." Elaine smirked. Her friend just sighed as she shook her head. 

Elaine may looked pretty and innocent that she couldn't even step on an ant but in reality, she would do anything to makes things work her way.

Like what she did to make her join the medical internship 1 year earlier than the others.
