Both Sharla and I walked to the left of the room. As soon as I got a better view of the room I noticed a smaller bookshelf directly next to either side of the door. Following through with the instructions I only went to the left side and started to browse. Most of the stuff was labeled like, "beginners guide to ____."
I instantly picked out a book on the basics of magic. Although I was technically quite knowledgeable on the subject I didn't know how accurate my current information was.
I took it to one of the four tables that sat in the center of the room. When I opened it a bit of dust flew in the air and I started to sneeze.
"Are you ok?" Shar asked looking back, a bit of worry residing in her voice.
"I'm ok just a bit of dust." I say while rubbing my nose
"Ah yes sorry about that, I haven't really touched those books in years." Aria interjected
"I can tell."
After the short exchange I delved into the book that sat in front of me.
...
A little while later and I closed the book, once again incurring the wrath of the dust. The book was short thankfully, obviously it was one of the smallest books only touching on things like where mana comes from, how to train to use it, how to increase the amount you can hold, and how to channel it.
There were of course much larger books going into the extreme intricacies of magic and more are even being made as more is learned about the subject.
After returning the book to the shelf I grabbed a few on the base elements base elements of water, earth, fire and air magic. When I turn to go to the table I'm met with two eyes. It seemed Shar had snuck up on me while I sifted through the many books.
"Aw~, you didn't react at all~, you're no fun~."
"When you have gone through as many things as I have you tend to build a resistance."
"Puu~"
"So, have you found anything you're interested in?"
"No~, all the stuff over there is still to advanced for. So I thought I'd come over and learn more."
"Well I've got some basic stuff here so why don't we go and read them together~." I say, a plan to embarrass her already forming in my head.
"Ok~."
We walk over and I drag a chair up to Shar's. Once again dust flies into the air and we are both sent into a fit of sneezing. Once over the initial crisis we both turn our attention to the book laying in front of us.
The title of the book was, "a basic guide to fire magic." After a few pages i glance over to Sharla, her focus completely on the current page. I quickly turn at just the right angle and plant my lips on hers.
At first she was shocked, then surprised and finally embarrassed.
"Y-you-"
She looks up and stiffens. I also look only to see Aria looking at us while, blushing?
"U-uh, oh. I'm sorry please forgive me for intruding!" She says quickly while dropping books on the table before running away.
"Huh?"
Both Shar and I watch astonished as she scampers off back into her office.
"What was that?" Shar finally voices, genuine confusion painted all over her face.
We slowly walked to Aria's office and we both spotted her burying her face in her arms. A red ear clearly showed why.
"How... innocent."
"Sh-shut up!" She yelled
Her head shot up and she was bright red.
"Oh~, does someone have a fever?" Sharla chimed in
"Y-you"
She shot up out of her chair and ran towards us. We quickly retreated into the library. Suddenly we heard a noise and looked back to see the "door" closing. I rushed back only to be thwarted by the already closed "door". I knocked on it a few times and there was no response.
"Ahem, hello? Is this thing on? Yes? Good. Ok so I have decided to punish the both of you for your actions and I won't let you out until you've repented." Came Aria's voice from every direction.
"Ok so you think that flimsy "door" will keep me in here?"
"Yes, yes I do."
"Oh, ok."
"Wait you're not going to try to escape?"
"Well it's obvious you're not some normal person so it must have been made out of something special or whatever. How stupid do you think I am."
"I never said you were stupid it's just I have to deal with some pretty prideful people."
"Huh, well we'll be here if you need us."
"Make sure you repent."
"Yeah, yeah we'll be waiting."
"Ok, bye."
"Bye~"
Finally she stops talking and I was just about to sit down when, "just make sure to repent."
*sigh*
Note: welp I owe you I don't know exactly how many chapters now but I've been working on a project that will probably be out by Wednesday. Until then I will be rushing to get you as many chapters as I can. I can probably get one out by the end of today or sometime tomorrow. I think so far according to my awful memory I owe you ten-ish chapters maybe 1-2 more, anyways you will still get quite a few chapters by Wednesday.
After that I will be taking a quick break for the final five days of the month. Before then I will probably have a chapter or two saved up.
Thanks for listening to my rambling and I thank you for sticking around. As always stay safe, stay healthy and have a good whatever time of day it is for you.
