Act 5

Lian Ji glanced between the pale complexion of her friend and the screen of her phone trying to quickly analyze the situation as she came towards a realization, causing her to end up grinning like a complete idiot.

"Your stalker?" She nudged Yue XiFeng's arm while covering her mouth with one hand, as her eyes shone with mischievousness. She had heard of her best friend bantering about her stalker, but she never disclosed who he was, so she was curious.

Yue XiFeng remained silent as she attempted to forcibly yank the phone away from her hand, intending to throw it out the window. Thankfully, Lian Ji noticed her subtle movements, causing her to bring her phone away from her friend as she jumped in surprise with her thumb landing on a red button.

The two girls widened their eyes in surprise as they heard a man's voice coming from the phone. Yue XiFeng seemed incredibly pissed as she glowered at Lian Ji who was curious about this mysterious stalker, hence answering him.

"Hello?" She politely asked whilst being intently eyed on by her best friend who was wondering why she wasn't given a beating yet.

Truthfully, if Yue XiFeng wished to, she could've easily taken the phone away as she excelled in martial arts. She thankfully decided not to as to give Lian Ji insight on the identity of the mysterious stalker as a parting gift.

In short, Yue XiFeng leisurely sat back to her seat as she silently observed the confused Lian Ji who attempted to communicate with her notorious stalker.

Lian Ji trembled as she heard the low and captivating voice of the caller on the opposing end, spontaneously concluding that he must've been a distinguished person that Yue XiFeng offended.

But if he is so, why would he desperately stalk her dirt poor friend? She might be smart, she might be pretty, but her personality could be considered dogshit, as Yue XiFeng had a history of physically beating the people who stalked her. So Lian Ji was understandably confused when one of those supposed stalkers, the most persistent one even, continued to safely stalk her in one piece.

But her face soon grew abruptly pale as she stumbled towards the desk behind her, promptly sitting on her seat.

"Surname Lian... Xiao Feng's friend?"

A cold voice reverberated from the phone, causing Lian Ji to be on edge as if she was attending an interrogation which led her to stutter, "Y-yes!" as a reply.

The man's cold voice hummed in acknowledgment as he declared with a frigid tone, "Call Xiao Feng. Now. Else you want your father's company to be bankrupt." he demanded as his fingers tapped repeatedly on his desk.

As if she were an employee working for the caller, Lian Ji quickly handed the phone over to Yue XiFeng who calmly received it as she proceeded to put a spoonful of rice into her mouth. As to not bother her on her meal, she turned the speaker on as a sign of not giving a sh*t for all to hear.

"What do you want, bastard?" She said in irritation, causing the people who witnessed the ongoing event to vomit blood due to how blunt she is.

The man ignored the offensive comment as he continued whilst furrowing his phoenix brows,

"Do you love her? Your friend, surname Lian." He asked in a daunting tone that contained a hint of distress in it.

Yue XiFeng gawked upon his words as her image of the cold, aloof, and indifferent Emperor perished, leaving a weird, unsociable, and aloof image to replace it. A smirk unknowingly appeared on her face as she replied with a loving tone. Though she did not know how the man reached upon such a conclusion, she felt that it would be amusing for her to play along.

"Yes... Lian Ji and I've even been dating for 3 years, so a third party should stay out of it." Her gentle voice caused everyone to vomit blood yet again as they witnessed her make sheep's eyes at Lian Ji who blushed in return.

"...No. You can't date her, you're both women." He replied with an indescribable expression as he harrumphed, before continuing, " If you continue to date her despite this, I will not be held responsible for what the press will say." He announced whilst dangerously narrowed his eyes.

Yue XiFeng continued to calmly eat her meal as she scooped another spoonful of rice. Her classmates quietly listened from their desks as if this phone conversation was an interesting drama, causing Lian Ji to feel unease.

"Oh, what will they say?" Yue XiFeng taunted in an uncivil demeanor.

"..."

Silence ensued on the line as everyone anxiously waited in anticipation. But soon, the magnetic and hoarse voice of a man brought an end to the quietude.

"You will be engaged to me," with a firm and serious tone, his words echoed from the phone, flustering the nearby students.

Yue XiFeng's lips twitched before she perked them upwards, expectant of this answer before muttering incoherently. Though she planned to secure funding from another source, seeing that the bastard willingly offered himself, why should she refuse?

Beaming a smile on her thin lips, she replied an unexpected answer that was pleasing to his ears, "Sure." She said as she packed her lunchbox to put it back in her bag as she continued, "But I have a condition. You must agree to the terms I make and sign an official contract regarding it," she said with a nonchalant expression as her classmates were on the edge of their seats, anticipating on what would happen next.

The strange smile on Li Qiang's face twisted as he realized her underlying meaning, causing him to contemplate her words before deciding on hearing her out first.

"...What are your terms?" He asked in unrest, feeling uneasy towards her reply.

But luckily for him, her words were very well within his range of expectations. Yue XiFeng sweetly smiled as she roguishly spoke like a loan shark.

"Lend me 10 million dollars, I am quitting school," She proclaimed apathetically.
