Chapter 6 - The strong always triumph.

Jamaal glanced at his right and left, clutching his sword readily as he charged to the right, stabbing a Goblin in the chest and twisting the blade as he brought it out.

Immediately, the goblins roared and charged up in groups. Their stone spears held high and ready to stab into Jamaal's skull and crack it completely.

The boy, turned around, crouching down swiftly and swiped at the legs of the Goblins. Blood burst out from their kneecaps as they fell onto the ground, writhing into severe pain.

After stopping what he could of the charge, Jamaal jumped back and brought down his bloodied iron sword upon the last Goblin from the first charge.

[You have gained 5 Exp..] The notification endlessly pinged him, kind of annoying Jamaal.

"System! Can you stop your notifications from annoying me?!" He shouted, turning his body.

[Complying...]

[Notifications are now muted. This mute will last until you die.]

"Not helping!" It was then when a goblin slashed at Jamaal's chest, leaving a large, deep gash upon his body. Blood squirted out from the cut, dripping onto the forest floor and soaking into the mud.

"God.." Jamaal groaned, staggering back as he stabbed his sword at the Goblin. To which the green creature quickly dodged and stabbed its battered dagger towards the boy's neck.

Luckily though, Jamaal had just been out of reach for the stone dagger to cut his neck deeply enough. Instead, leaving only a small cut and a couple of droplets of blood to escape from that cut.

"System? What's my health?" Jamaal asked quickly.

[Health: 70/140]

Jamaal nodded quickly, finally killing the Goblin in front of him with a fierce stab using his weapon before turning around sharply, pulling out the sword beforehand.

[Ding! You have levelled up to level 3!]

"Perfect." Jamaal looked around and waited, taking deep breaths to gather up his strength and rest for as long as possible.

It was then when a flash of orange and red light occurred. An intense burst of heat hitting the boy's back, sending him flying into a tree.

"Damn..." He coughed, the wind knocked out of him. The stench of burning flesh appearing quickly in the air. The blaze burning up what remained of his tattered clothes, causing them to shrivel up and blacken.

It was then when Jamaal began to roll around the dirt, trying to get the flames to die out quickly. Jamaal eventually got up, unsteadily patting the mud off him as he tried to numb out the pain.

[Health: 100/180]

"I've got to try and quickly gain more levels," Jamaal glanced at the Chieftain who was sitting on a wooden throne that appeared out of nowhere, relaxingly looking at the fight with an amused smirk.

The boy clenched his sword even tighter.

"I will beat you. I will kill you!" The boy thought, stabbing at a nearby goblin and piercing through its head, hefting up his sword with the head and pushing it off with his hand. Blood covering his sword and hand as he glared at the other goblins that approached him with blood-shot eyes.

[Ding! With your bloody eyes and scary figure of an injured and burnt hobo, you have learnt the skill 'intimidation'!]

Jamaal let out a small chuckle, shaking his head as he activated 'intimidation', putting a slight note in his head to look at its details later.

[Skill activated! 'Intimidation!']

[With the help of your appearance, five goblins have frozen in fear. Two have run away while unfortunately, one Goblin has had a seizure.]

Jamaal chuckled at the last one, charging at the now broken line of goblins, cutting them down as quickly as possible. After finishing with that row, Jamaal glanced at his experience bar and sighed hopelessly.

"It won't be enough, it's too slow, I can't kill enough." By now, the boy's body was inflicted with many cuts and burn marks.

"I'm going to need to focus on the boss, only the boss." Jamaal turned around and looked at the boss's eyes and froze.

[The opponent has used the skill 'Intimidation!']

"Creatures can use skills too? Aside from typical ones? What?" He croaked, eyes widening as the Chieftain made his move. Grabbing the halberd and walking up to the boy. After the Goblin Chieftain approached Jamaal, he brought down the halberd upon his head, letting out a guttural laugh.

"No... Not again. NO."

[You have managed to escape the 'intimidation' skill with your high 'Will' stat!]

Jamaal didn't think. Only narrowly moving to the right and looking at where he had just standing to see the axe-head of the weapon impaled deep into the dirt.

It was then when he hefted up his sword and swiped at the arm of the Chieftain, cutting deep into his arm and pulling out. Blood pouring out as he did so.

After bringing out the sword from the Goblin's arm, he brought it down upon the head of the Chieftain, letting out a breath of relief as he may survive this.

It was then when a dark and quick blur appeared in the right corner of his vision. Stabbing into Jamaal and causing him to drop his sword and fall onto the tree floor. Groaning, as he looked blurrily at the Goblin Chieftain who was laughing, fat jiggling as a mix of amusement and disappointment appeared in his eyes.

"Boy, always look around at your surroundings." This time, Jamaal could understand what the Chieftain was saying.

Turning his head slowly to look behind, Jamaal looked at his back. His pupils dilated and breathing quickening as he saw the halberd in his left side slowly getting pulled out. The sound of the Chieftain chuckling softly continuously echoing in his mind.

"AHH!" He cried out, slowly losing strength as he saw his blood pouring out continuously.

"No..." Jamaal cried out quietly, a lone tear shedding as his temperature slowly becoming colder and colder as he slowly drifted into a bitter eternal sleep, his body turning limp as his eyes closed. The flame of life burning out inside of him.
