Birthday Party

Chapter 50

Avery

There was a loud knock on my door. Adam asked, "Hey, can you come out here for a second?"

I rolled off my bed and grabbed Little Buddy, opening the door, "Yeah, wha-"

"Surprise!" Everyone in the living room shouted.

Little Buddy jumped out of my arms and went to Adam. He put his paws on Adam's leg and meowed. Adam picked him up. Little Buddy jumped onto his shoulder and curled his tail around Adam's neck.

Adam smiled, petting Little Buddy, "Happy Birthday, Adam."

Oh right, we are supposed to be twins, "Happy Birthday, Avery."

Mark dragged me to the couch. I sat down between Shane and William.

Smiling, I greeted them, "Hey, guys. Thanks for throwing this party for Avery and me. You guys really didn't have to."

William shrugged, "Luke, Alex, and I didn't do much but bring presents. Shane made the cake and Mark planned the party. Avery made sure you didn't know about this and texted Mark with updates about you. So thank them, don't thank all of us for this."

I smiled, "Well, you showed up, so that counts as something." Turning to Mark, "Thank you, Mark, for throwing the party for Avery and me."

He blushed, "No need to thank me, I was only trying to do something nice for you two."

I smiled, "Well, thanks for the nice gesture. We appreciate it very much."

Shane was sitting next to me, looking a little embarrassed, I poked him, "Thanks for making the cake. How many tries did it take until it was finally edible?"

His face turned a little red, he mumbled, "Four times. Then one more time before it wasn't burnt."

I grinned, "Well, it looks nice."

He grinned, "Thanks."

I talked to all my friends, we had a nice time. It was really nice to be around them.

Little Buddy

I jumped off my owner's shoulder, humans were so loud and annoying sometimes, I walked over to my food bowl.

There was no food in there, I frowned.

Jumping onto the rim of the sink, I went to a cabinet and swatted it with my paw until it opened, I slipped in and dug around.

I couldn't find any cat food. Where did they put it? Jumping off the counter, I landed on the floor and looked around.

Ahh, the storage cabinet thing, my food must be in there. The door was slightly open so I slipped in between the door and wall.

MY FOOD, I have found it! I stared at the bag it was in. Hmm, an obstacle, I started scratching the bag and a few seconds later, it ripped open.

Nom nom nom, I ate my food and all was well with the world.

William

Adam (the actual Adam) asked, "Adam, do you want to open presents before or after we eat cake?"

Avery shrugged, "After the cake I guess."

Adam nodded, "Okay. Would it be okay to use paper plates? I really don't want to have to wash six people's worth of dishes tonight."

Shrugging, I answered, "Fine with me." Everyone else nodded, "Yep, that's fine."

Adam turned to me, "Can you get the paper dishes and plastic forks from the storage room? It's between the fridge and the light switch. Please?"

I nodded, "Sure." Standing up, I walked to the kitchen and opened the storage room door.

I raised my eyebrows, there was a cat looking like it was in heaven. The expression on its face just looked so...pleased.

Next to the happy cat was a ripped open bag of cat food, ahh, that explains it. I picked up the cat, I heard Adam and Avery call this cat Little Buddy before.

I walked into the living room where everyone was, I said to Adam, "I found your cat eating in the storage room. He ripped open the bag of cat food and was passed out on the floor in a food coma."

Adam took the cat and handed him to Avery, she petted him and muttered underneath her breath, "Bad kitty."

Adam handed out the plates and handed the knife to Avery, "You cut it."

Avery took the knife and set Little Buddy on the arm of the couch, she cut 6 pieces out of the cake and slid them onto the plates, handing them out to everyone. Then giving herself a slice after she gave one to everyone.

After the cake, Avery opened the presents. She opened Luke's present first, it was a collar for Little Buddy.

She smiled, "Thank you, Luke. I'll put it on Little Buddy when he wakes up." She patted the sleeping cat and rubbed his stomach. The cat's ears twitched and he purred, it was quite a cute sight to behold.

Luke nodded, "I hope he will like it." He grabbed another present, handing it to Adam, "This one is for you."

Adam took the box and pulled off the wrapping paper, he took out a bracelet. He smiled and clasped it onto his wrist, "Thanks, this is really pretty."

Luke smiled, "Glad you like it."

Alex gifted Avery a pound of candy and Adam a white dress.

Mark gave Avery a belt and Adam a small pink backpack.

Shane gave Avery a pair of sweats and Adam a mug.

I gave Avery a watch and Adam a pair of heels (my sister helped me choose that).

When they finished opening their presents, we played cards and did other stuff. After a few hours, it was getting late so we left.

I waved, "Bye Avery, Adam."

Avery and Adam waved bye to us all and walked back inside once we left.

Avery

I smiled, today was a nice day.

"Hey, Adam. I'm going to go take a shower."

He flopped his hand around at me, "Okay, I'll be cleaning this mess up."

After showering, I said goodnight to Adam and read for a few hours. I turned off the lights and fell asleep.

And thus, ended my day.
