Chapter 7

One day in school, Amariyah was on her way to her science lesson. But then she realised that Niah and Anne were in a different class. Amariyah's class was very boring, she learnt a lot but the class was too quite so it bored her a lot. Niah's science teacher, Mr Mills, was a gullible teacher; so Amariyah took advantage and walked in the class. The way that she saw it was, she wasn't bunking her class as she was going to another science class.

"Oh my gosh it's so fun in here!" Amariyah said noticing that the class could basically do whatever they wanted. Amariyah wasn't learning anything at all, in fact her and Niah was making tiktoks. Lani and Amariyah had made up, at first they were just civil, but they had become more closer as time went by. Amariyah couldn't resist going back to that science class. She went back every time she had science and she told her original teacher that she was going to her singing lessons.

Everyone who had heard Amariyah sing thought she had an amazing voice. But she would, very often, bring herself down. She let her insecurities get in the way of her daily activities. She would look at her friends body or beauty and longed for it. Some days she saw herself as pretty but most days she hated herself to pieces and wondered why she couldn't look as beautiful as Niah.

The bell rung signalling that it was lunch time. Amariyah and her friends were sitting on a table in the lower playground, and a group of girls that they disliked decided to start an argument. One of the girls names Kayla was shouting in Niah's face, talking absolute nonsense. They both got very heated and at one point Kayla pulled Niah's hair; Niah threw all of her belongings on the floor and charged towards Kayla until one of the teachers stopped her. Amariyah was ready to fight for her friend if anyone else got involved.

As the teacher was holding onto Niah, Kayla was watching them all with a smug look on her face. Her and her friends was all laughing and smirking. Only Amariyah clocked the girls, and she despised them so much, to think that she was actually friends with them appalled her.
